Knowing the words of Christ never change.

This bible I have has not changed. This I suppose because the world has never changed!

The sinful nature of man never changes, their is nothing new under the sun!

There is however this He says!

That the world shall wax worse over time. The condition ,though the same. will worsen?

If you know His word and have lived long enough, you too would know these things!

Their are Pastors and priests who teach otherwise, that it is not possible for a loving God would send men and woman soul too hell! These so called docs of theology in their own ignorance will take you too hell right along with them!

Hell is a real place ! Damnation is a real word!

    Repent and be baptized F.E.S.

Hi Earl , you are of course correct : Romans Ch 9 , V 14-26 . I'm so glad that God has given me a measure of understanding , I'm soooo glad that God has not left me in these awful kingdoms of men that are without hope or light or warmth or truth . Only God can save us from ourselves and each other . This life is nothing but a trial . God's love is awesome and sometimes overwhelming to me . I wish everyone knew what we know , God knows everything and He is so kind to give us a light to light our path to Him . Jesus Christ the Righteous . Much love in Christ .

Hi Gigi . I believe that everything that is written in the Bible actually happened as it says , word for word . It has taken me a long time of reading ,27 years , every day except for illness , to recognise the patterns and awesome things that many would describe as ' coincidence ' . I don't believe in coincidences , especially not Biblical ones . It has honestly only been the last two or three years that these things have been literally jumping off the page at me , demanding my attention . There are a lot of things that I read on here that I totally disagree with , I bite my tongue a lot because I know I can be brusque and I don't want to say any thing that will chase any one away from this site . To me , we are a congregation on here , we are all at different levels of learning and understanding and I would never attempt to silence any one . As long as the moderators are doing their jobs then I read everything and glean some good grapes from every one . I have learnt to be tolerant on here , and I've also learnt that I can love people , genuinely love people , that I don't always agree with . We learn from each other , we can't learn from some one if we have silenced them and we can't help some one if we have chased them away because we disagree on some points . I was not this tolerant before I came on here ! This site and the kind folks on here have been very tolerant to me . I try to return their kindness . Much love in Christ . You are an interesting poster , stay and grow with us .

So what is the essence of this in these last days!

Have christian ppl after all get lost from the word when they do all things on the contrary? Ill belive we need too love them more, forgive them more and pray more. And never stop belive that they will understand in the end of their dayes.

Hi Matt , I am sorry , I think you may have taken me too literally and that would be my fault . When I said I don't know why I do and say what I do some times : I don't know how old you are , I'm in my mid fifties . When I look back on my life and the choices I made and the paths I took , I often think to my self 'why did I do that ' , sometimes in a good way and some times in a regretfull way . As for wether the Spirit is working in me to guide me , what makes you think we always know when that happens to us ? God doesn't have to tell us anything . His purpose will be fulfilled no matter what we do . He will put me where He wants me to be , I may be rebellious and stray off His path for me , but He will bring me back to where He wants me by whatever means He sees fit and I may never know that He did that . He doesn't have to tell me or you what He's doing . All we need to do is trust Him . Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness . I sometimes forget that when I type and some one else reads , that they don't get my tone of voice or facial expressions or my sense of humour and my words can be taken literally . Sorry about that .

Luke 10:34, pouring in oil and wine, can that be explained. If the wounds were treated and bound, the pouring in of oil and wine sounds odd. Is it that it was put on the wounds as they were bound??

    Thanks

I see that they are mutually exclusive. 'Birthright' being the expected rights & privileges that come to someone because of his/her birth; in the Bible seen given to an offspring because he is the firstborn ('a right by birth'). See also 1 Chronicles 5:1,2 for passing on, or conferring that birthright because of the Will of the father.

'Blessing' being the verbal expression of love, care, appreciation, praises & prayer for the one being blessed. Genesis 24:60; Genesis 31:55; Joshua 14:13; Leviticus 9:22 as some examples.
  • Chris - In Reply on 2 Corinthians 6 - 4 years ago
Hi Gary. When the apostle wrote that in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, I feel that he was specifically referring to the sharp distinction between being a follower of Jesus to those who follow the World. He even references 'idols', which shows the clear separation between those who worship the true God to those who worship the work of their hands.

Move the timeline to today & we find that the principles given then, still hold true today. Clearly, a follower of Christ shouldn't marry one who worships idols, but according to this practise that is seen in all of Scripture, we must be discerning as to who or what we align ourselves with or even 'yoke' (yoked as a team) with. This not only pertains to marriage, but also in business & other personal matters. Just as unevenly yoked cows or horses cannot pull the cart in correct step or in sync, so it's to be expected that those with different spiritual views & understanding of the Word will not 'pull' together in life & business properly. And I would think, in terms of marriage (whether to a RC or any other), that one would have to really understand the other's basic doctrinal position & see whether it will open up a path of conflict to your own. I know of some co-existing quite well together by making allowances/concessions - others, having very difficult marriages.

Chris and those on this thread,

There are so many nefarious things going on in our world and most of it we are fairly unaware of even with the internet to access information. Discerning truth from lies on the internet is hard since so much is not fact checked and there is much that just isn't allowed on the internet. I do think that when the beast system come into play, it will be obvious why people are to take the mark on the hand or forehead. The digitation of so many financial, medical, personal information, etc. is just laying the groundwork for this mark to be introduced. Many embrace digital advancements so readily and are willing to sacrifice privacy and other freedoms to have convenience and quick responses.

As Christians, we need to be as wise as serpents, and as innocent as doves. I think this means to be aware of the work of the evil one; his schemes, lies, and who or what he empowers. And then to be innocent (guileless means to have pure motives. We are to conduct ourselves in honest, honorable, and loving ways. God will bless us and keep us in these times.

    Matt H.

Those of us on this thread are trying to understand you and what you desire from this communication. In reading through, it appears to me that you may be looking for an argument or want to grind an ax with someone. Or, maybe you think you are exhorting others here. The word says to do everything in love, for love covers a multitude of sin. So, we come to you in the love of Christ. We do want to come to a meeting of the minds about your concerns.

    Matt H.

You are right again. We cannot come to Christ on our own will. It takes a work of the Holy Spirit in us to desire God and turn to him in faith. We believe because the holy Spirit has planted faith in us to trust the veracity of the gospel. We cannot initiate a love for God on our own. We love Him because He first loved us and gave Himself for us. This is what grace does in us. it is the power of God to us for salvation, so that we can say no to wickedness and yes to godliness.

It is a work of God from start to finish. We are in the in-between time now, walking by Spirit, exhibiting the fruits of the Holy Spirit inn our lives.

Well stated. Unless you have walked a long time with a friend or family member, it is hard to understand them well. On this site, it is hard to know much about one another. We hope that people are being honest and straight-forward in our posts, without wrong motives. I think forbearance is a good term to describe how we should react to one another.

    Matt H.

I think you are right that many times we assume to know more about another person than we actually do, especially matters of the heart. This is damaging, because we treat the other person according to our assumptions and wound them. I think we can see the fruits of other people's faith in how they act, perhaps not 100% accurately, but, with experience, we do learn to evaluate if someone's character is trustworthy or not. It takes discernment and all believers should pray to have this, and prayerfully use it as God would will us to use it.
  • GiGi again - In Reply on Isaiah 18 - 4 years ago
Agreed, Paul said that "knowledge puffs up." We should be careful about having the best motives for sharing any knowledge we have been blessed to learn with others. We should not seek to become knowledgeable to be smart or smarter than others. This is prideful. Our purpose for pursuing knowledge should be to grow in faith and to help others grow as well as to be ready to have an answer for anyone who asks us about the hope we have within us in Jesus Christ.

    Matt H.

It seems that you may have been wounded, confused, or bothered by someone's (or many people's) expansive explanations of Scriptural matters or Christian topics. Being succinct and to the point is important and often forgotten. I am one to be guilty of long-speaking. Different personalities prefer different approaches. I think that realizing that may help you to see that people on this site mean well and hope to encourage and help others in spiritual growth and understanding. Glad you brought this topic up.

    Matt,

I do understand what you say about church talk. People in fellowship with each other tend to have somewhat of an internal language, phrases, etc. Same is true of believers. We often forget that not everyone gets what we say we we speak this internal language. Please forgive us when we do and you just want plain speaking. I would like to know of some things you would like more clarity on.

Grace, what a beautiful prayer partner you are on this site! Thank you for answering the Lord's call to be prayerful on behalf of others. Your name is perfect for you!

LaTonya- I agree in prayer with you and Grace for God's healing touch on your body as you go through these physical ailments and trials. May you feel him so close to you and be comforted by His presence. May his peace fill you with restful times amid this tumult you are going through. May He put praise upon your lips and a song in your heart to lift you up and hold you steady. Thank you for asking for prayer. It has brought me into this conversation and I am blessed to pray for you.

    Hello,

Jews do not accept Jesus as the Messiah. Their rabbinical literature blasphemes our Lord calling Him a bastard and his mother a whore. The teachings of the Jews is nowhere close to what the teachings of Christianity are, just as the teachings of Islam are also far from Christian teachings. People often feel an affinity for either of these two false faiths because they both trace their roots back to Abraham, but Judaism departed from Old Testament faith of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David repeatedly in the history of their people, especially since the Babylonian captivity. Judaism today is the religion of the Pharisees that Jesus condemned so harshly in his time among them. Islam claims that Ishmael is the son of promise, not Isaac and Muhammed made up undocumented tales of Abraham taking Ishmael to Mecca to the black cube, which was used for pagan worship before and during Muhammed's time. Like the Jewish rabbies, Islamic cleric participate in occultic rituals and practices. This isn't to say all Jews practice these things, but I would definitely spend some time in deep discussions with this woman and inform yourself of what she practices. Also, i would recommend researching Judaism. It is eye-opening!

    Earl,

I do not believe we will all look like Jesus or have His passion scars on our bodies. We will look like ourselves but in a glorified body. All mankind is made in the image of God, but we all look different. I think that this is true in our glorified bodies as well. The image of Christ in us is the perfection of our mind, body, soul, and spirit to be made holy like our Lord's. We will never be Jesus, He is both God and man. He will always be distinct from us. He is the bridegroom, we are the bride. He doesn't "marry" Himself. God has always planned to separate a people for Himself. We are this chosen race, holy priesthood, children of God. Salvation is about receiving the forgiveness of sins, being deemed righteous by the covering of Jesus' righteousness, justified before our Father in heaven; but it is also about the redemption of our bodies, being changed from corruptible to un-corruptible. We will no longer sin, but instead continually do God's will. We will love to do as God wills,, love what is good, love one another, and love God above all else. This is what heaven is all about, to the glory of Good

Sorry, Earl, but your statements about most of the Word being allegorical or prophetic with hidden meaning smacks of the way rabbis have dissected the Torah using the Talmud since the days of captivity in Babylon and of the heresy of the Gnostics who sought "hidden" or "secret" meaning and knowledge in Scripture and other sources. Be careful of claiming more than what is plainly revealed in Scripture, especially since there are many people who view these posts. We should desire to relay the truth of the Word of God plainly spoken by the prophets and the apostles. Jesus even said that God's Word is truth, and that the truth shall set you free. "Babes" take things in a more literal fashion that adults, not seeing more in what they hear than what is plain. We are to become like them, as Jesus instructed.

I cans ay that you say many things I agree with, but also, you say many things that I cannot support. the Spirit in me sends up "red flags" of caution when I encounter statements that are counter to long held doctrine. I believe the Spirit will teach us. He taught the apostles and Paul and inspired their writings so that we can read these writings and know the truth. The Spirit teaches from His revealed Word. History shows the destructive results of teachings of people who are convinced that their words are from the Holy Spirit when they plainly are not. I am not trying to be critical of you. I just want to warn you to be more careful in what you post and how far you travel down a rabbit hole of "hidden" meanings in Scripture.

A wise man is of few words .

Gods word is enduring and to be taken with fear and reverence, to love Gods word is to understand it .

    James 1.5

If any of you lack wisdom , let him ask of God

Notice it did not say ask another person !

Proverbs says wisdom is the principle thing .

It's also said that only the wise can learn .

So I encourage anyone to ask God through Jesus name to grant you wisdom to understand his word and ways .

If you miss this you will be subject to men and the many so called that are deceived.

But ask in faith , God is faithful , you will be surprised to find many things are not so as you heard .

But the truth will set you free !

Mark, I understand what you are saying, but Scripture reminds me what Jesus said about the Kingdom of God. It is "within you" and it is "not of this world".

"Kingdom Building" is one catch phrase in many churches nowadays. However, Jesus said that He will build the church, which I believe is His Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. He said He was going to prepare a place for us, a place for his church to live in. We are the Kingdom I believe. We are called to be obedient to what the Spirit has to say to the Church. I think it is good for every church congregation to study what Jesus' says to the churches in Revelations, and work on correcting what the Lord points out as problems that need to be rooted out to remain shining lights to the world of God's gospel of grace. Paul speaks of judgment beginning in the house of God first. May each person and every congregation put their house in order as the Spirit empowers them to work and do the will of God.

...It was Isaac's poor vision that allowed for this deception to be successful. God's will was accomplished despite the sins of many in the family. Esau, in the last hour, desired what he had not cared to have prior to this moment. He wanted the blessing even though he most likely didn't live his life in God's way. It seems that Jacob always had his eye on the prize, knowing its worth and perhaps the responsibility that accompanied it, having seen these in his father's life.

Since Isaac was 60 when the twins were born, the sons were probably at least 40, since that is the age that Esau was when he married the Hittite women and it was said that this plural marriage to non-kin aggrieved both Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was over 100 years old at this time, but he did not die right away. He lived through all of the years that Jacob served Laban to purchase his wives Leah and Rachel, and for all of Jacob's 12 sons to be born. He lived to be 180 years old.

Esau hated Jacob for receiving the blessing instead of himself. He vowed to kill Jacob after his father has died. Luckily, Isaac lived decades longer after this event. When Esau heard his father instruct Jacob to not take a wife from the Canaanites, but from kin of Rebekah's brother, he went out and married Ishmael's daughter, Mahalath, knowing that his father was displeased with the Canaanite women. I think he tried to please his father by marrying one of Abraham's descendants through Ishmael, even though he kept his Canaanite wives.

Rebekah sends Jacob away to her brother, Laban's home, to escape what she heard Esau say about killing Jacob. She expected Isaac to die very soon and didn't want to lose both Isaac and Jacob together. She is weary, perhaps from trying to keep the family on the path that she knew God wanted for them. She was acting in the flesh, trying in her own strength and wisdom to keep God's plan intact. She was a wonderful, godly woman, but , like all of us, we fail, strive with God at times.
