2Pet. 3:3; scoffers = Psalm 1:1 implies sinners progress in their ever-increasing depravity until they become scoffers in their final state.

Scoffers scornfully and maliciously mock GOD, HIS SON The LORD JESUS CHRIST, GOD's Word, GOD's people, and all GODly matters to bring disgrace and contempt. These have evolved in their lifestyles for so long, they no longer fear GOD.

Because JESUS CHRIST has not yet returned as promised, scoffers believe HE will not come again at all. The very existence of scoffers proves these are "the last days" (Jude v.18).

The reader could argue that these scoffers compose a more blatant and aggressive group than the more private "false teachers who privily shall bring in damnable heresies" ( 2Pet. 2:1). As followers and adherents of false teachers, these scoffers voice their ridicule more publicly.

These less than subtle scoffers are "walking after their own lusts" partly because they swallow the "cunningly devised fables" (1:16) and the "damnable heresies" (2:1) of the false teachers (2:1) and have become the "twofold more the child of hell" described by CHRIST ( Mt. 23:15). See also John 8:44, Acts 13:10, and 17:5.

Scoffers deride those who believe Scriptural prophecies regarding CHRIST's Second Coming by declaring that since CHRIST has not yet returned, that is proof HE will not return (v.4).

Their derisive question regarding "the promise" (v.4) voices their mockery of CHRIST WHO promised a Second Coming that HE cannot fulfill. Not only do scoffers mock the prophecies of the prophets, but they also mock CHRIST HIMSELF WHO prophesied of HIS own Second Coming ( Jn. 14:2, 28). Scoffers' denial of CHRIST's Second Coming will not hinder HIS Coming for "The LORD is not slack concerning HIS Promise" (v.9). See also verse ten where Peter emphasized, "But the Day of The LORD will come."

In the end, GOD will mock and laugh at the scoffers ( Ps. 2:4; 37:13; 59:8; Pro. 1:25-26).

Verse 14 shows that the Israelites were in agreement with God's direction and laws and they even thought it sounded good. They failed to obey these laws though.

Verse 19 shows that Jehovah God took the initiative in showing love to us and in return we learn how to love.

In imitation of Christ Jesus we must develop deep love for our brothers and sisters. When we develop the deep love that Jesus had, we will be willing to die for our brothers and sisters.

Israel in the Old Testament was dispersed among all the nation of the world. Judea was left so Jesus lineage could be confirmed to be the natural seed of David. Today none can trace their lineage back to Abraham. ISRAEL today (those born again of the Spirit of God) is the promised SEED of Isaac (his name was changed to Israel) (CHRIST IN US).

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one INWARDLY (Christ in you); and circumcision is of the HEART, in the Spirit, and not in the letter (flesh) .....

Romans 9:6 ...for they are not all Israel, which are of Israel.

The kingdom promised to ISRAEL (CHRIST) is not a literal kingdom that can be seen with eyes; but a kingdom of priest (Christ in you). These battles prophesied in scripture are not literal but in the Spirit.

Jesus said before he comes there would be literal wars, literal earthquakes, literal famines and literal pestilence. This has been happening for 2000 years and Jesus has been COMING to those who look for him 2000 years. Jesus said that it would be like the days of Noah. They knew not till the doors on the ark were CLOSED. The ark could have saved them; Jesus is our ark. Man is looking for all things to be literal and all of a sudden DESTRUCTION (you die; the grave is your reward, the doors to the ark are closed). Most will miss Christ coming; because they are looking for something literal, when the BATTLE and BIRTH are SPIRIT. There will continue literal wars, literal earthquakes, literal famines and literal pestilence until the age we are in ENDS and the next age BEGINS.

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was ONCE (Christ ministered in the flesh) offered to bear the sins of many; and unto those WHO LOOK FOR HIM he shall appear the SECOND TIME (IN THE SPIRIT) without sin UNTO SALVATION.

where does the bible refer to "then I will return the giants". speaking of the end times.

Without looking it up, what was Jesus' last miracle?

This translation of Ezekiel 3 is not translated totally correctly nor clearly. It is a very clear text by Artscroll.

Ezekiel chapter 3, verse 21 by Artscroll Stone edition Tanach: But you, if you did warn him, the righteous man, that the righteous man SHOULD not sin and he DID NOT sin; he will surely live because HE WAS CAREFUL. And as for you, YOU WILL HAVE SAVED YOUR SOUL.

Basically your past good deeds will not be remembered if you start to act corruptly and die because of it. If you turn away and stop sinning, you will save yourself. The righteous man does not sin. It will take a long time to learn not to sin any longer, but it is possible and has been done by many.

A person, who often sins is corrupted and not a righteous man. It is terrible if you murder somebody daily basis! You should stop murdering completely and murder no longer! Seriously! That was an example from a sin and I can not call a man righteous who keeps murdering people even though as rarely as once every year. I expect a righteous man not to murder a single person ever again!!!

Of course it is hard to learn to sin no more and to stay righteous especially if you are not careful and if your upbringing was all wrong and nobody is supporting you and forcing you to sin with them like what happens in so many religious communities. It takes time to learn the righteous ways. And because so few believe in righteous life, so few even try to learn it let alone be careful not to sin any longer, but it is not impossible. Remember Enoch. At least I have faith and believe that one day I will learn to live fully righteously. It is a command to live righteously and to stop daily and constant sinning.

That scripture is accurate......or is it?

When you go through all the particular subject matter, you will find blistering contradictions that are enough to make you shake your head. What is the meaning of this perpetual catch 22? In my humble opinion, such mistakes cheapens the Word of God. I shouldn't have to bend over backwards to defend an obvious editing error; it makes me look foolish.

How to remember scripture? I am a former drug addict and find reading and comprehension not compatible in the real sense. I think I am not learning as I I should?

I wonder is this how the Holy Spirit works? Is this how the spirit breaks down the fleshly way of thinking?

The real stories in the bible I learned as a child, but still must be reminded of them even now! If we do not read the word, there would be no refreshing of the knowledge of the truth!

Strength and perseverance, come from Hearing the word! U may memorize it all u want, If it does not abide in your heart, it will be as the flower that dies and fades away! Knowing Jesus is the heart of the matter, gaining insight of who He is, and His love for man , is what you should memorize!

If what you say is true, then Jesus should be mocked for being a straw man. How can you fully respect someone who is a fraud, someone who was handed everything? That could have been me, or anyone God picked to play Messiah. Whatever the case, lets just get on with it till it's over.

Its nice to know you are still out there ,we must remember that the lessons in the Bible teach us about all humanity ,not just the bad guys ,we can all fall into sin at any time because we are imperfect humans ,the lessons are about other people yes ,but they are there to show us what can happen to us ! We all fall short of the Glory of God and when we do we must remember that no matter how badly we have behave He never stops loving us for one second ,so we must run right back to Him as fast as we can and ask His forgiveness ,sometimes when i think about the love of God and the love of Jesus my feelings of innadiquacy are enormous and overwhelming but we mustnt allow our own failings to seperate us from our God ,He wants us with Him ! Yes I heard that before but I don't buy it , is there proof of that happening and did Noah record it ? He was the only left and seven others .

But if you look today no one lives more than 120 yrs old even with billions of people , of course there can be exceptions.

34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

( Revelation 8:13)

13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

The last 3 trumpets happen close to each other for a reason, and are separated from the 1st 4 trumpets. It is more feasible to count the tribulation and great tribulation (3.5 years) equal to a 40 year generation that will not pass till these things are accomplished.

The Bible ,the actuall words of God beat everything ,im not much into speculation ,though when i do do it i always know that thats what im doing . When my faith or understanding fail me i go to the actuall Bible ,not my own imagination or daydreams or the internet ,Gods words are just like Him ,unchanging . I would say yes ,the act of having sex with another person is what seperates the marriage ,if your spouse cheats on you they have seperated themselves from you and broken the bonds of marriage ,under mosaic law you are basically divorced from each other by the act of cheating and your spouse and the person that they slept with are to be stoned to death ,as Christians we may choose to forgive and reconcile or divorce ,there was no place for forgiveness under the mosaic law .Thanks to God and Jesus we are not under that as Christians .

Enoch became the father of Methuselah at 65. Genesis 5:21 622 + 65 = 687

Methuselah became the father of Lamech at 187. Genesis 5:25 687 + 187 = 874

The Flood started when Noah was 600. Genesis 7:6 1056 + 600 = 1656

40 years? A Generation today is 20 years, but back then it was hundreds of years. How old was Adam and Eve when they had Seth? (And remember, they had OTHER sons and daughters AFTER Seth)...You must consider all things when considering history from a Biblical (correct) viewpoint.

You're quite right, John. I doubt if we will ever see a candidate that upholds biblical Truth & values, giving full honour to God & rejecting all that is stained with evil. If such an one even made it to office, he would either soon get shot down or never move any further. I think we will have to wait for Jesus' millenial rule from Jerusalem to see righteousness being performed & not before.

Bill, if you're referring to Genesis 6:3, the 120 years written here isn't given to show a generation (of years) of mankind, but how many years God had given mankind in Noah's day to heed the warning & repent. Within 120 years the flood had arrived & sadly only eight souls were saved.

Faith is enough for salvation and here's why. There are two types of faith. There's human faith that every human being has. And then there's the faith that the Bible speaks of. A person that has biblical faith is a saved person.

The word faith (PEITHO) literally means persuasion. It is a word that describes the presence and activity of God's Spirit in a believers life.

So yes, a person who has faith (PEITHO) is a person who is saved.

Also, it is God's Spirit in a believers life that produces the works. It's not human works but the activity of God's Spirit that produces spiritual works in us and through us.

And even though belief is important, it alone does not save someone. A person must receive Christ and be born of His Spirit in order to be saved.

Yes this site gives a great opportunity to share the gospel, And there are some good churches out there. However there's no pleasure in saying there is a wide gate and there will be many in those churches and on this site that will be on that path, We should continue preaching the cross and stand firm on what we believe.

I'm only interested in ones salvation,

And if One agrees with you and don't accept Christ then he's still lost.

But if he accepts Christ the Holyspirit will reveal to him all he needs to Know.

I'm sure you don't mind somebody wanting to preach the gospel/ Teachings on salvation without debating the trinity right.

I'm sure no Christian would want to get in the way of that. It's what Jesus commanded.
