If you are in christ, you will over come any type of storm that may comes your way. You will not fall so long as Jesus is in your boart.
  • Gerald Jackson on Psalms 31 - 10 years ago
Psalm 31:19-20 inspired me to write the following poem:

    The Goodness of God

The Goodness of God is like a ship in a storm:
No matter how loud the clap of thunder
Or turbulent the waves may toss,
I rock in the cradle of God's secret Presence,
    Secure, unafraid, adoring the One,
    Who can calm the storm,
Or still my heart, as we sail right on..

  • Wayne on 1 John 3 - 10 years ago
Ben, the whole reading is to show love to the brethren in physical works. Not just saying I love the brethren but to share with those in need with our abundance. Verse 17 states this. One whose has plenty is to relieve the need of another. To God this is a perfect fit. Before salvation, we are sinners. God is sinless. So we, in our need, ask God for his relieve for our sinfulness.

Beatrice's response seems to be very similar to my first comment. Her statement this "psalm...is actually God's resume a.k.a. his curriculum vitae..." makes me want to shout Hallelujah and amen sister.
  • Marlene on Psalms 103 - 10 years ago
David expresses his gratitude to God for his blessings, mercies, graciousness and forgiveness. This Psalm depicts David's state of awe as he experiences the blessings, mercies, grace and forgiveness of our righteous God despite his sins, despite his failures and weaknesses. God's unconditional love for mankind as demonstrated in His love for King David is the essence of our Christian faith.

    V. 18; Wholesome words are important. Many people speak words of love but there are no deeds of love. What this does is expose them, they are not in the truth. Jesus is the way the truth and the life.

''The secrete of the lord is with those who fear Him''. The word of God are mostly said in parables and are made understandable to the simple and His children ( Mark 11:4). Only HIM can help us to drop all canal knowledge and embrace heavenly knowledge to understand HIm and HIS words. We need to vigorously seek HIM and HE's more than ready to help. May HIS blessed and only name be glorify for ever.
