Ralph W. Emerson quote - "You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late." I knew 'of' a man who was a customer of my husband's, they were also very good friends. I just knew one day I would meet him; he died at age77 before I did. I could made an effort to meet him, but I didn't.

As for scripture refs, I've noticed some people on here give none for what they say of God's word, and that's awfully hard for a new Christian , never having looked into a Bible, to deal with. We are being a 'stumbling block' in that way, being neglectful of them. I'm guilty of this omission myself. Sometimes I am literally 'lazy' about it and just say, "Look it up.' Some don't know how to.
  • Irene123 on Ephesians 1 - 9 years ago
Eph. - The Bride's Pearl, by Brian Kinsey; (excerpt from pg. 15;) - "An important characteristic of Eph. is that Paul made no attempt to address any specific problems. He did not try to correct any specific faults in the lives of people. In Eph. he made no attempt to correct the Judaizers of Gal. or the Gnostics of Col. He simply extoled the Glory and the Grace of Jesus Christ."

People make statements on here without any documentation, i.e. scriptures refs.

Forsaking the study of God's word is what most mainline churches have done for over 50 yrs. The past 30 they have gone into politics, haranguing against political agendas and 'obliquely' influencing people's votes. I've seen so many on this site that know nothing of God's word, and I pray for them; no where in God's word will you see it's okay to 'stab' someone, to put them down. We pray for them.

You won't answer because it's not found in the Bible. What was His Name? "Was" that question sounds like blasphemy. He never was a was He has always been and will always be my Lord and Savior! How about you? John 6:44. Call upon Him, you might be changed? 2Corinthians 5:17
  • Irene123 on 1 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
My husband watches 30-45 min. of news every night and I am on my laptop so I hear it too. Otherwise, the tv is never turned on. Believe that , or not, as you wish. Anyway, Pres. Trump is always on the news. And it always reminds me - all Christians need to pray for Him, and all in authority around the world, China, Russia, Switzerland, etc.; not by name necessarily, but 'world leaders'. 1Tim.2:1-3

olive tree cont. - regardless of whatever else had been destroyed, had survived. The olive tree lives and bears fruit for centuries. The olive tree matures in 12-14 yrs. Jesus was 12 when He was in the temple, Lk.2:42. The tree reaches its peak performance starting at age30, Jesus was 30 when He began His ministry.
The title of this book is: "Jesus in the Olive".
  • Irene123 on Genesis 2 - 9 years ago
From a book by C.B.Saylor - Ever since the 3rd day of creation, trees, in all their beauty have graced the earth. But there is one that is worthy of notice, the olive tree. Some grow from root systems that are over 2.000 yrs. old. Noah knew the waters had receded when the dove came back with an olive leaf in it's mouth. The olive tree, - cont.

So I asked for His protection for us and our home. He'll have an angel here until our nephew is apprehended. Jn. 4:14 Our nephew isn't a murderer, but he'll steal - and he saw our tv, comps., etc.
  • Irene123 on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago
It's been a lo-o-ong time since I read the 91st. The Lord led me to it just now. An 'incident' happened tonight with a nephew stopping by we hadn't seen in 30-35 yrs. He visited awhile, with his g'friend, then left. I remembered our niece, his sis. told me just a month ago he was on the run. I e-mailed her tonight and she confirmed it. He told us lies tonight. cont.

Adam and the 'fruit' - Adam was around awhile before Eve; he 'n God talked, and you know God gave Adam His instructions on His will, i.e. - the man is the head of his house. Adam knew before eve appeared not to eat of the fruit of that tree. He possibly knew he'd be alone again if he didn't 'join' her in sin ..... ? And no, I'm not 'changing' scripture; just 'musing'.
