4. The understanding of a Tripartite God by Israel/Jews would be absolutely unthinkable ( Deuteronomy 6:4). It was only after Jesus appeared, and Him making His Father known to His people, and by His Words, His Life & powerful ministry, would cause some to believe & accept His Words that He "proceeded forth and came from God" ( John 8:42).
Not only Jesus' teaching to His disciples and to all those who would give ear to His Words, but those apostles (and Paul), would then further teach & impress upon the hearts of the Church that Jesus was indeed the Christ from God ( 1 Corinthians 8:6). In my understanding, Jesus Christ had to be wholly Divine & Human - purposed by God for that great Sacrifice to be acceptable to the Him. Any other creation, whether of man or animal to be sacrificed, wouldn't cut it, for nothing else could demonstrate God's Love & a full & free redemption for all who would believe. And of course, the very real potential for failure would exist if a man was created specially for sacrifice. Would God then have a Plan B if that should happen? I don't believe so, it was everything of God or nothing; our redemption hung completely on God taking on flesh and paying the only price that could be paid to secure and seal our salvation. In this glorious act alone, we see & understand such undeserved Love for us sinners ( John 15:13). Blessings to you.

This is one powerful verse: "And this is life eternal." This was the primary purpose of Jesus' mission: the immortality of the Father came to earth, manifested in Jesus, and eternal life which God the Father alone possesses, 1 Timothy 6:16.
God was revealed in the flesh of His only Son, Jesus. What is eternal was manifested in the world and is now available to us. This eternal life is given that we might know the only true God and His Son Jesus Christ, whom His Father sent, 1 John 4:7-16.
There are 38 times in the gospels where Jesus said God sent Him, the most expressive is in John 7:16-29. Your posts are helpful, I understand how long it would be on this site with 2000 characters to go verse by verse, but what you do should inspire us to study all the verses around what you post. The conscience: I understand what you are saying but I understand it a little differently. I understand our conscience which is sometimes called our heart, Proverbs 4:23, is a gift God gave us to help us overcome the curse that we received when Adam and Eve ate that fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.
The law and sacrifices could not cleanse our conscience, and we have been told to guard our conscience. When we repent and are born again our conscience is cleaned Hebrews 9:13-14, Hebrews 10:22 and when we slip, we are given confidence if we repent it is cleaned by the blood of Christ, 1 John 1:9. Our conscience and our mind are separate, Titus 1:15.
Our subconscious mind learns from experiences without us being aware of it. It processes information and makes connections effortlessly. We operate 80 to 90 percent with this part of our mind. This kind of learning affects our actions and choices without us consciously realizing it. My thoughts, this is the part of us that is attracted by the world, the part of our flesh that is tempted.
Our conscience can be weak and defiled 1 Corinthians 8:7 and seared like in 1 Timothy 4:1-2 and our minds can become so corrupt 2 Timothy 3:8, that God can turn us over to a reprobate mind Romans 1:28. I feel people can get to a point where their conscience is dead, and they live on the instinct of their subconscious mind for just survival in this earthly world. But there is always hope, I have seen where people have been restored and their conscience cleansed and made alive again, Jesus's blood can wash away all sins.
This is just me, but I believe our conscience is the spirit of man, Zechariah 12:11 Corinthians 2:11.

I'm with you, I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God given to us. A reason we differ, preconceived ideas are obstacles to the truth. We all grow up in cultures where we inherit certain biased beliefs, values, and attitudes from our parents, teachers, religious affiliation, peer groups, and friends. When we study the Bible unless we can clear these obstacles, and beliefs when we read our sub-conscience mind will block the true meaning with the ones we have stored in our mind.
We must empty our minds as we know nothing, take out the garbage, pray, and let the Spirit of Truth show us the true meaning of what we are studying. We must keep in mind we get milk first and then meat and it can be years between.

True, David0921, 'stagnation' would be too subtle a word to more fully describe how the Church at large treats God's Word & deals with sin & rebuke of erring ones. Unfortunately, from my limited experience, it seems that the larger the Church (congregation), the weaker they are in some of these areas we've referred to. The smaller, & probably the more exclusive (sectarian) of them, keep a much more rigid control on behavior & adherence to the Word. Yet, saying that, often their teachings also tend to be a little off-track. A few however, I believe, have found the right balance.
Now, I have a query on what you had earlier written (& now), in discussion with Jema a few days ago: "So when we look at the nature of God's Judgment program very carefully, we find that the Final Punishment is annihilation, that is destruction". Obviously, I think I have misunderstood you, where it appears that you believe that the final state of man is, either he's enjoying eternal life with the Lord, or a cessation of all existence (annihilation, as you put it). And then the "Wrath of God for sin" as you now stated. Without making any further assumptions, maybe you could clarify your belief, as in my mind I'm unable to reconcile the two statements.
I believe that Matthew 10:28 was quoted as a reference to the complete destruction of soul & body, to which the Greek word does support; as it does to John 3:16 ("perish"), Romans 2:12, 1 Corinthians 8:11, 2 Peter 3:9, and many others. But reference wasn't made to Daniel 12:1,2; Matthew 18:8,9; Matthew 25:46; Jude 1:7; Revelation 20:10,14,15; & others. In the light of these other Scriptures as well as the essence of the Gospel message which requires an eternal suffering, or else we don't have any Good News of salvation to give, how should we understand your statements? Do you believe this is a metaphor or do you actually believe you were physically crucified with Christ around 2,000 years ago.
John 15:5 says Jesus is the vine and "ye are the branches." Do you believe you are actually just a branch? And do you believe Jesus is literally a vine and nothing else?
If those are the metaphors they obviously are, why do you assume ye are gods is not a metaphor in Psalms 82:6? Isn't that cherry picking something to suit your chosen narrative? In the same sentence it also says ye are children, so if this was honestly applied you would then be a literal child? Otherwise its just cherry picking the gods metaphor which could be considered intellectually dishonest. Are Gods children? Do you really believe there's more than one God, despite what so many other scriptures say?
Even the same author of Psalms only 4 chapters later says there's only one God in Psalm 86:10 "thou art God alone". Do you believe this verse just as much the other one you like? How about all the other verses that clearly say there's only one God like 1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Samuel 7:22, Deuteronomy 4:39, 1 Chronicles 17:20. Why would someone ignore all these but only focus on believing a metaphor in half of one verse is not one instead?
Shouldn't we be using discernment and reading the Bible with an open heart to what God is teaching us rather than the other way around? Just like kings and rulers are called lords (lowercase to show context), gods does not mean God. Anyone who cherry picks and claims they are a god is really deceived and this comes from satan. As a child of God there's several things we should ask ourselves in all we do.
"Will this hinder us? How will this affect our ministering?
Will it cause stumbling for those who are weak? and will it glorify Christ?
You see this example displayed in
1 Corinthians 8:7-13.
This principle applies to everything we do, especially those in leadership.
I don't have tattoos but if I did I may and I may NOT race to have it removed once becoming saved. But I wouldn't go get one knowing what I know now being that I am saved.

I haven't researched this thoroughly but my current understanding of God saying "I AM" is a proclamation of who He is, including His greatness, glory, power, divinity. The English language is probably insufficient to properly convey just how awesome He is. Jesus also said "I am" in the New Testament, and people ironically accused Him of blasphemy.
I'm not quite following your next statements about you thinking you're a god? Do you believe this is related to the "I am" statements? Do you believe 1 Corinthians 8:6 where it says there is only one God and Lord? If there's only one, then I would think that would automatically invalidate anyone claiming there are more gods and make that an untrue statement, would it not?

Nothing in the Bible contradicts itself. People find "apparent" inconsistencies and are often quick to make these claims, but when someone actually researches deeper one usually realizes the truth and that it's all consistent. Even if I say Giannis has explained it very well, if you not "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:20-1. I can only perceived by reading "Nats if Jesus is God" you are still searching if Jesus Christ is God. I would be happy to show you how to be saved and obtain the Holy Spirit. Only then the verses you have inquired about will make sense to you because the Holy Spirit will guide you to the truth.
In John 10:36 Jesus Christ himself said He is the Son of God. If you read the entire conversation between the unbelieving Jews and Jesus Christ they will not believe no matter how anybody explained it to them. It is already prophesied in Isaiah 6:9-10, Isaiah 42:20; Jeremiah 5:21; Acts 28:27; Roman's 11.8
In John 14:28 the situation was that Jesus was about to fulfill another prophesy and that was to die on the cross for the sins of the world 1 John 2:2. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Colossians 2:2-3. When Jesus was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures, Jesus fulfilled what God the Father sent Jesus to do on earth. The mystery is that God the Father is greater than Jesus the Son of God. Remember Jesus came to Virgin Mary from God the Father. Then Jesus has to go unto the Father after Jesus rose the third day so the Comforter (i.e. Holy Spirit) will be fulfilled. John 14:16; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7. There is only one God. John 1:14-15 reveals that Jesus is called the "Word."
John 1:1 says "Word was with God, and the Word was God." this means that Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God.
John 1:3 says "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." This means that all things were made by Jesus, and without Jesus nothing was made.
The common misunderstanding is that Jesus temporarily came to earth and while fully God, became fully man and appeared to allow Himself to be limited as a man. So, most people analyze His behavior as a temporary man and draw assumptions from it: like how can He pray to Himself? etc.
John 1:9-10 - talks about Jesus, also called the "Light" coming to earth.
Philippians 2:6-7 - to me this means that Jesus wasn't concerned about His power being lessor or limited as a temporary man.
Luke 2:52 - Jesus put Himself in a position of a man to grow in wisdom and maturity.
So, all of your quotes are while Jesus was in a temporary limited state as a man on earth.

There are differences in the two passages you gave, viz Acts 15:1-20 & 1 Corinthians 8:1-13 (I've included the whole portion to understand the reason for these instructions).
In Acts 15, the problem was that of requiring circumcision of the Gentile converts to align with Jewish believers' expectation. The apostles disagreed, not wanting to put "a yoke upon the neck of the disciples", that it was only "through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they" (v 11). To go back to the Law, even of circumcision, negates the free Grace offered to all through Jesus' death. Therefore, the decision was made that no such imposition would be made, but that those four requirements ('decrees') be observed. Why so? These were Gentiles who lived in a society that had no law or compulsion to heed certain things that the Jews found abominable. Rather than discuss each of those conditions, the point was that, these converts needed to observe these 'decrees', not only to satisfy the Jews, but also to desist from any entrance of fornication which was rampant in their society & worship.
In 1 Corinthians 8, what seems as a paradox to Acts 15, is actually a Truth we hold onto, to the liberty we have in Christ, but that Truth (even the right that we have) is constrained because of the "weak conscience" of another, that we don't become a stumbling block to him. We know that an idol is nothing (v4), but some aren't convinced about that; then to see a brother partaking of 'meats offered to idols' can introduce anger, confusion, & maybe "perish" (v11) in faith. In today's application, if we have people over for dinner & have pork & wine also as part of the meal, should we first ensure that the invitees won't be offended by those things? Some might say, 'who cares what they think?' The biblical stand should be abstention from those things for the sake of those who believe (or eat) differently.

It flat out says the Word is Jesus in John 1:14 and onward. It also calls Jesus God in other scripture too, so one has to deny much of the Bible in order to deny Jesus's divinity. Why are people so motivated to deny Jesus, one might ask? Matthew 10:32-33
The Word was God literally means the Word was God. It doesn't say the Word wasn't God. It doesn't say the Word was a different God. It doesn't say the Word was God the father. It doesn't say was kind of a God, but not really. People seem to really enjoy twisting this and trying hard to make it mean something else, but it doesn't mean something else. The Word was God still means the "Word was God." It cannot be denied what it so clearly says.
I heard someone who seemed motivated to not want Jesus to be his Lord or God go on to say that the Word didn't mean Jesus and wanted it to mean the Bible. But that person forgot that the Bible already says the Word is Jesus in John 1:14. It again calls Jesus the Word in Revelation 19:13.
So, all the other speculation doesn't really matter. People's devised human arguments in order to rationalize or distort to fit what one wants to believe is all irrelevant. The fact is John 1:1 says Jesus is God and the real question is does someone believe in the Bible as God's word or not? I choose to believe it. I hope others do too. Satan loves deceiving and tricking people into rationalizing away and cherry picking certain things over others.

I don't believe we can just replace the word God for Jesus. I believe that uses of God in the Bible sometimes implies the trinity, but other times is used solely for God the father. I believe this is one of the common sources of confusion. Also, Jesus is Lord, and the use of the word Lord of the Old Testament sometimes seems to include God the father. I'm interested in anyone else's opinions on this. So, the three are one, the same, but also different. While this is hard for us simple humans to understand how much the same they are and how much different they are, it says it in the Bible and we must choose whether we want to trust and believe what it says.
About the word begotten in John 3:16:
I'd like to borrow from a Got Questions answer on this as I find them scripturally based most of the time. They say the original Greek word 'begotten' or (monogenes) has 2 meanings:
1. The first definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship." Hebrews 11:17 like Abraham's son.
2. The second definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind or class, unique in kind." See John 3:16, John 1:14, 18; 3:18; 1 John 4:9.
Beware of anyone distorting the word to assume it means Jesus was 'created' later. This is not what it means. Scripture already debunks that in John 1:3, 1 Corinthians 8:6 (Jesus made all things), John 1:1 (Jesus was there in the beginning), John 5:18 (equal with His father), Jesus is the John 8:58, "I AM", Exodus 3:14, Revelation 1:8
What is the motive for this campaign to discredit Jesus's divinity? Why do you celebrate when you feel you have delivered your case? Does this actually come from God, or does it actually come from the great deceiver?
Some of these comments even have a sense of pride- as if demeaning Jesus is an accomplishment to be proud of. Whomever is behind this campaign seems quite closed off to just normal, non-distorted interpreations of the Word.
Shame on you and everyone who is attacking and trying to discredit the Bible and demean Jesus. I find these posts disturbing and even sickening to think that Christians are giving into a lie so easily without question. But the truth will always expose the lie. Ezekiel 27 & 28 describes the King of Tyre as making himself a "god" and was called a "cherub" and referenced "Eden, the garden of God" This Cherub was "perfect" in beauty, faultless in his ways from creation onward until unrighteousness was found in him. Ez 27:3, 28:12,15
Isaiah 42:12 Reference the God of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph, David, Josiah, Ezekiel, John the Baptist, Jesus, the Apostles, etc. This Almighty God of Israel is the creator of all living things. In Psalms 83:18 he is called Jehovah God.
If you look in one of the earliest King James Bible of 1611 you'll see that name. Most modern translations have removed that name and substituted it with Lord claiming since the original pronunciation was lost it makes sense to remove it as if the Almighty doesn't exist. Also the divine name Jehovah or Adhonai or Elohim in some translation appears in the Tetragrammaton close to 7000 times so removing the name removes the knowledge and understanding of the Almighty and creates confusion. He just wasn't a tribal God in Isaiah 54:5 it says "....He will be called the God of the whole earth." Psalm 124:8 Jehovah is called the maker of heaven and earth.
Jesus who was a Jew also recognized the God of Israel as being Jehovah or Yahweh. Remember the Jewish clergy during the time of Jesus wanted to bring charges against Jesus in order to put him to death for blashemy so any of worship or acknowledgement he gave to any other god would have given them this opportunity. Plus Genesis 17:1, Isaiah 45:18, Psalm 83:18 refers to Jehovah God being one God. Deuteronomy 6:4,5 also call Jehovah one Jehovah. This is in harmony with Mark 12:29, Romans 3:29-30, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:4-6, 1 Timothy 2:5 all these scriptures refer to one God.
For Jesus to believe in multiple gods or a triune god would be paramount to apostasy for a Jew and thus grounds for death. Also Roman Zeus was a triune god and existed during this time.
4. The understanding of a Tripartite God by Israel/Jews would be absolutely unthinkable ( Deuteronomy 6:4). It was only after Jesus appeared, and Him making His Father known to His people, and by His Words, His Life & powerful ministry, would cause some to believe & accept His Words that He "proceeded forth and came from God" ( John 8:42).
Not only Jesus' teaching to His disciples and to all those who would give ear to His Words, but those apostles (and Paul), would then further teach & impress upon the hearts of the Church that Jesus was indeed the Christ from God ( 1 Corinthians 8:6). In my understanding, Jesus Christ had to be wholly Divine & Human - purposed by God for that great Sacrifice to be acceptable to the Him. Any other creation, whether of man or animal to be sacrificed, wouldn't cut it, for nothing else could demonstrate God's Love & a full & free redemption for all who would believe. And of course, the very real potential for failure would exist if a man was created specially for sacrifice. Would God then have a Plan B if that should happen? I don't believe so, it was everything of God or nothing; our redemption hung completely on God taking on flesh and paying the only price that could be paid to secure and seal our salvation. In this glorious act alone, we see & understand such undeserved Love for us sinners ( John 15:13). Blessings to you.

This is one powerful verse: "And this is life eternal." This was the primary purpose of Jesus' mission: the immortality of the Father came to earth, manifested in Jesus, and eternal life which God the Father alone possesses, 1 Timothy 6:16.

Your posts are helpful, I understand how long it would be on this site with 2000 characters to go verse by verse, but what you do should inspire us to study all the verses around what you post. The conscience: I understand what you are saying but I understand it a little differently. I understand our conscience which is sometimes called our heart, Proverbs 4:23, is a gift God gave us to help us overcome the curse that we received when Adam and Eve ate that fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.
The law and sacrifices could not cleanse our conscience, and we have been told to guard our conscience. When we repent and are born again our conscience is cleaned Hebrews 9:13-14, Hebrews 10:22 and when we slip, we are given confidence if we repent it is cleaned by the blood of Christ, 1 John 1:9. Our conscience and our mind are separate, Titus 1:15.
Our subconscious mind learns from experiences without us being aware of it. It processes information and makes connections effortlessly. We operate 80 to 90 percent with this part of our mind. This kind of learning affects our actions and choices without us consciously realizing it. My thoughts, this is the part of us that is attracted by the world, the part of our flesh that is tempted.
Our conscience can be weak and defiled 1 Corinthians 8:7 and seared like in 1 Timothy 4:1-2 and our minds can become so corrupt 2 Timothy 3:8, that God can turn us over to a reprobate mind Romans 1:28. I feel people can get to a point where their conscience is dead, and they live on the instinct of their subconscious mind for just survival in this earthly world. But there is always hope, I have seen where people have been restored and their conscience cleansed and made alive again, Jesus's blood can wash away all sins.
This is just me, but I believe our conscience is the spirit of man, Zechariah 12:1 1 Corinthians 2:11.

I'm with you, I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God given to us. A reason we differ, preconceived ideas are obstacles to the truth. We all grow up in cultures where we inherit certain biased beliefs, values, and attitudes from our parents, teachers, religious affiliation, peer groups, and friends. When we study the Bible unless we can clear these obstacles, and beliefs when we read our sub-conscience mind will block the true meaning with the ones we have stored in our mind.
We must empty our minds as we know nothing, take out the garbage, pray, and let the Spirit of Truth show us the true meaning of what we are studying. We must keep in mind we get milk first and then meat and it can be years between.
I also believe in one God and Father of all, who is the God and Father of Jesus, the Son of God, the Messiah/Christ.

Now, I have a query on what you had earlier written (& now), in discussion with Jema a few days ago: "So when we look at the nature of God's Judgment program very carefully, we find that the Final Punishment is annihilation, that is destruction". And I quote this as you also shared here, "When was the last time you heard a sermon that focused on the Judgment and Wrath of God for sin?" Obviously, I think I have misunderstood you, where it appears that you believe that the final state of man is, either he's enjoying eternal life with the Lord, or a cessation of all existence (annihilation, as you put it). And then the "Wrath of God for sin" as you now stated. Without making any further assumptions, maybe you could clarify your belief, as in my mind I'm unable to reconcile the two statements.
I believe that Matthew 10:28 was quoted as a reference to the complete destruction of soul & body, to which the Greek word does support; as it does to John 3:16 ("perish"), Romans 2:12, 1 Corinthians 8:11, 2 Peter 3:9, and many others. But reference wasn't made to Daniel 12:1,2; Matthew 18:8,9; Matthew 25:46; Jude 1:7; Revelation 20:10,14,15; & others. In the light of these other Scriptures as well as the essence of the Gospel message which requires an eternal suffering, or else we don't have any Good News of salvation to give, how should we understand your statements? Do you believe this is a metaphor or do you actually believe you were physically crucified with Christ around 2,000 years ago.
John 15:5 says Jesus is the vine and "ye are the branches." Do you believe you are actually just a branch? And do you believe Jesus is literally a vine and nothing else?
If those are the metaphors they obviously are, why do you assume ye are gods is not a metaphor in Psalms 82:6? Isn't that cherry picking something to suit your chosen narrative? In the same sentence it also says ye are children, so if this was honestly applied you would then be a literal child? Otherwise its just cherry picking the gods metaphor which could be considered intellectually dishonest. Are Gods children? Do you really believe there's more than one God, despite what so many other scriptures say?
Even the same author of Psalms only 4 chapters later says there's only one God in Psalm 86:10 "thou art God alone". Do you believe this verse just as much the other one you like? How about all the other verses that clearly say there's only one God like 1 Corinthians 8:6, 2 Samuel 7:22, Deuteronomy 4:39, 1 Chronicles 17:20. Why would someone ignore all these but only focus on believing a metaphor in half of one verse is not one instead?
Shouldn't we be using discernment and reading the Bible with an open heart to what God is teaching us rather than the other way around? Just like kings and rulers are called lords (lowercase to show context), gods does not mean God. Anyone who cherry picks and claims they are a god is really deceived and this comes from satan. Satan loves deceiving people in this way and it has his signature all over it. God bless.
As a child of God there's several things we should ask ourselves in all we do.
"Will this hinder us? How will this affect our ministering?
Will it cause stumbling for those who are weak? and will it glorify Christ?
You see this example displayed in
1 Corinthians 8:7-13.
This principle applies to everything we do, especially those in leadership.
I don't have tattoos but if I did I may and I may NOT race to have it removed once becoming saved. But I wouldn't go get one knowing what I know now being that I am saved.
Those who would judge one in this matter should be careful being that they place themselves under the same type of judgment no matter what they do.

You asked some interesting questions and made some interesting suppositions.
I haven't researched this thoroughly but my current understanding of God saying "I AM" is a proclamation of who He is, including His greatness, glory, power, divinity. The English language is probably insufficient to properly convey just how awesome He is. Jesus also said "I am" in the New Testament, and people ironically accused Him of blasphemy.
I'm not quite following your next statements about you thinking you're a god? Do you believe this is related to the "I am" statements? Do you believe 1 Corinthians 8:6 where it says there is only one God and Lord? If there's only one, then I would think that would automatically invalidate anyone claiming there are more gods and make that an untrue statement, would it not?
Do you consider yourself a follower of Christ? There's a great link on becoming a Christian at the bottom of the page with many helpful verses.
Nothing in the Bible contradicts itself. People find "apparent" inconsistencies and are often quick to make these claims, but when someone actually researches deeper one usually realizes the truth and that it's all consistent. If you have a specific example of how you drew your conclusion that could help with a dialog.

Even if I say Giannis has explained it very well, if you not "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:20-1. I can only perceived by reading "Nats if Jesus is God" you are still searching if Jesus Christ is God. I would be happy to show you how to be saved and obtain the Holy Spirit. Only then the verses you have inquired about will make sense to you because the Holy Spirit will guide you to the truth.
In John 10:36 Jesus Christ himself said He is the Son of God. If you read the entire conversation between the unbelieving Jews and Jesus Christ they will not believe no matter how anybody explained it to them. It is already prophesied in Isaiah 6:9-10, Isaiah 42:20; Jeremiah 5:21; Acts 28:27; Roman's 11.8
In John 14:28 the situation was that Jesus was about to fulfill another prophesy and that was to die on the cross for the sins of the world 1 John 2:2. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Colossians 2:2-3. When Jesus was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures, Jesus fulfilled what God the Father sent Jesus to do on earth. The mystery is that God the Father is greater than Jesus the Son of God. Remember Jesus came to Virgin Mary from God the Father. Then Jesus has to go unto the Father after Jesus rose the third day so the Comforter (i.e. Holy Spirit) will be fulfilled. John 14:16; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7. There is only one God. John 1:14-15 reveals that Jesus is called the "Word."
John 1:1 says "Word was with God, and the Word was God." this means that Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God.
John 1:3 says "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." This means that all things were made by Jesus, and without Jesus nothing was made.
The common misunderstanding is that Jesus temporarily came to earth and while fully God, became fully man and appeared to allow Himself to be limited as a man. So, most people analyze His behavior as a temporary man and draw assumptions from it: like how can He pray to Himself? etc.
John 1:9-10 - talks about Jesus, also called the "Light" coming to earth.
Philippians 2:6-7 - to me this means that Jesus wasn't concerned about His power being lessor or limited as a temporary man.
Luke 2:52 - Jesus put Himself in a position of a man to grow in wisdom and maturity.
So, all of your quotes are while Jesus was in a temporary limited state as a man on earth.

In Acts 15, the problem was that of requiring circumcision of the Gentile converts to align with Jewish believers' expectation. The apostles disagreed, not wanting to put "a yoke upon the neck of the disciples", that it was only "through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they" (v 11). To go back to the Law, even of circumcision, negates the free Grace offered to all through Jesus' death. Therefore, the decision was made that no such imposition would be made, but that those four requirements ('decrees') be observed. Why so? These were Gentiles who lived in a society that had no law or compulsion to heed certain things that the Jews found abominable. Rather than discuss each of those conditions, the point was that, these converts needed to observe these 'decrees', not only to satisfy the Jews, but also to desist from any entrance of fornication which was rampant in their society & worship.
In 1 Corinthians 8, what seems as a paradox to Acts 15, is actually a Truth we hold onto, to the liberty we have in Christ, but that Truth (even the right that we have) is constrained because of the "weak conscience" of another, that we don't become a stumbling block to him. We know that an idol is nothing (v4), but some aren't convinced about that; then to see a brother partaking of 'meats offered to idols' can introduce anger, confusion, & maybe "perish" (v11) in faith. In today's application, if we have people over for dinner & have pork & wine also as part of the meal, should we first ensure that the invitees won't be offended by those things? Some might say, 'who cares what they think?' The biblical stand should be abstention from those things for the sake of those who believe (or eat) differently.
Hopefully, you can appreciate that these two accounts are not quite the same.

The Bible flat out says Jesus is God in John 1:1.

It flat out says the Word is Jesus in John 1:14 and onward. It also calls Jesus God in other scripture too, so one has to deny much of the Bible in order to deny Jesus's divinity. Why are people so motivated to deny Jesus, one might ask? Matthew 10:32-33
The Word was God literally means the Word was God. It doesn't say the Word wasn't God. It doesn't say the Word was a different God. It doesn't say the Word was God the father. It doesn't say was kind of a God, but not really. People seem to really enjoy twisting this and trying hard to make it mean something else, but it doesn't mean something else. The Word was God still means the "Word was God." It cannot be denied what it so clearly says.
I heard someone who seemed motivated to not want Jesus to be his Lord or God go on to say that the Word didn't mean Jesus and wanted it to mean the Bible. But that person forgot that the Bible already says the Word is Jesus in John 1:14. It again calls Jesus the Word in Revelation 19:13.
So, all the other speculation doesn't really matter. People's devised human arguments in order to rationalize or distort to fit what one wants to believe is all irrelevant. The fact is John 1:1 says Jesus is God and the real question is does someone believe in the Bible as God's word or not? I choose to believe it. I hope others do too. Satan loves deceiving and tricking people into rationalizing away and cherry picking certain things over others.

There are spiritual forces at work trying to deceive and twist and misinterpret. Beware of false teachers. The Bible already says what it means. Do we choose to believe and trust?
I don't believe we can just replace the word God for Jesus. I believe that uses of God in the Bible sometimes implies the trinity, but other times is used solely for God the father. I believe this is one of the common sources of confusion. Also, Jesus is Lord, and the use of the word Lord of the Old Testament sometimes seems to include God the father. I'm interested in anyone else's opinions on this. So, the three are one, the same, but also different. While this is hard for us simple humans to understand how much the same they are and how much different they are, it says it in the Bible and we must choose whether we want to trust and believe what it says.
About the word begotten in John 3:16:
I'd like to borrow from a Got Questions answer on this as I find them scripturally based most of the time. They say the original Greek word 'begotten' or (monogenes) has 2 meanings:
1. The first definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship." Hebrews 11:17 like Abraham's son.
2. The second definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind or class, unique in kind." See John 3:16, John 1:14, 18; 3:18; 1 John 4:9.

Some of these comments even have a sense of pride- as if demeaning Jesus is an accomplishment to be proud of. Whomever is behind this campaign seems quite closed off to just normal, non-distorted interpreations of the Word.
Shame on you and everyone who is attacking and trying to discredit the Bible and demean Jesus. I find these posts disturbing and even sickening to think that Christians are giving into a lie so easily without question. But the truth will always expose the lie. Ezekiel 27 & 28 describes the King of Tyre as making himself a "god" and was called a "cherub" and referenced "Eden, the garden of God" This Cherub was "perfect" in beauty, faultless in his ways from creation onward until unrighteousness was found in him. Ez 27:3, 28:12,15
Isaiah 42:12 Reference the God of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph, David, Josiah, Ezekiel, John the Baptist, Jesus, the Apostles, etc. This Almighty God of Israel is the creator of all living things. In Psalms 83:18 he is called Jehovah God.
If you look in one of the earliest King James Bible of 1611 you'll see that name. Most modern translations have removed that name and substituted it with Lord claiming since the original pronunciation was lost it makes sense to remove it as if the Almighty doesn't exist. Also the divine name Jehovah or Adhonai or Elohim in some translation appears in the Tetragrammaton close to 7000 times so removing the name removes the knowledge and understanding of the Almighty and creates confusion. He just wasn't a tribal God in Isaiah 54:5 it says "....He will be called the God of the whole earth." Psalm 124:8 Jehovah is called the maker of heaven and earth.
Jesus who was a Jew also recognized the God of Israel as being Jehovah or Yahweh. Remember the Jewish clergy during the time of Jesus wanted to bring charges against Jesus in order to put him to death for blashemy so any of worship or acknowledgement he gave to any other god would have given them this opportunity. Plus Genesis 17:1, Isaiah 45:18, Psalm 83:18 refers to Jehovah God being one God. Deuteronomy 6:4,5 also call Jehovah one Jehovah. This is in harmony with Mark 12:29, Romans 3:29-30, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:4-6, 1 Timothy 2:5 all these scriptures refer to one God.
For Jesus to believe in multiple gods or a triune god would be paramount to apostasy for a Jew and thus grounds for death. Also Roman Zeus was a triune god and existed during this time.
