You are saved by grace..NOT by the law...it is impossible for us to fulfill the law becdause of our sinful nature. That's why Jesus said even to think evil we have committed that sin already. The law was only our schoolmaster to bring us to grace. No one can fulfill the law...only Christ did fulfill the law..see Ephesians 2:8 and 9.
I just noticed these comments from nearly a year ago, but feel led to add some.
God's Word is perfect. But, it takes it being translated into the 'perfect' language of a particular language in order for the translation to be 'perfect.' And the King James Version is perfect English. They did not talk backwards, we do, in a way.
While, the Holy Bible mentions the word 'tree' in Acts, which the cross of Christ was, there are many other scriptures withing the contents of the written Word of God; the Holy Bible, that clarify the fact that a piece of wood was attached across it, making that 'tree,' therefore, 'a cross.'
The importance of God's Word mentioning 'the cross' was 'a tree,' is that it serves to confirm what 'the cross' was made from. It also relates to the Lord saying, in the Old Testament, that 'cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree.'
Galatians 3: 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Regardless of that being said, ALL of mankind was already UNDER a CURSE, due to sin, which was why we needed a Saviour to die for our sins. But, Jesus, by 'hanging on a tree,' made it VIVIDLY CLEAR that, while the body in which He had come was flesh, like mankind's, He INSIDE that body was NO mere man, but was the Word, the POWER, and RIGHTEOUSNESS, of God, Who was to, by His Spirit, utterly CONSUME; BURN UP, all the sins that were laid upon Him; ALL our sins, and ALL the sins of everyone of mankind who ever was, and ever would be born into the world.
So, while in this passaage of God's Word, it mentions 'a tree,' saying:
Acts 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on A TREE:,
there are plenty of other scriptures in the same Holy Bible that clarifies that a piece of wood was attached across it (purposed to nail his hands to it,) in that it is referred to clearly as a 'CROSS.'
Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of THE CROSS.
Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of HIS CROSS, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Ephesians 2:14 For HE is OUR PEACE, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of THE CROSS is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the POWER of God.
The CROSS of Jesus Christ is the POWER of God to us which are saved, because HE that suffered, and died, for us on it is the POWER of God:
1 Corinthians 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST the POWER of God, and the wisdom of God.
Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in THE CROSS of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was IN Christ, reconciling the world unto HIMSELF, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
That, we are a PRODUCT of the SPIRITUAL world which GOD owns. We are a property having been created with his own HANDS. First as a mass, then with HIS soul to b living beings. With a purpose to live unto his WILL through His SPIRIT which is not part of the BODY but an intergral unit to confirm with CHRIST through which we connect to/with GOD. We need the spirit as the third element to conquer the BODY n convert it to its IMMORTAL status if we are to defeat the inherited sinful condition. This is the WILL of GOD.
the verse to me means that man is hibitual in the pursuit of carnal desires, and because of sin men who continue to act in disobedience after they have come to salvation are children and sons of God but have allowed Satan's demontic influence to once again have control in their lives, which sapartes them from God's presents and they are compared to children of unbelief, to which the wrath of God is aganist.
This is man's battle with stitural wicknees, the flesh, and free will. God is requiring man to make a choice to be blessed or cursed, receive spititual life or death, to be hoily or sinful.
God want's man's obedience but does not force his choice but He does provide in this verse the info rmation we need to know that the God of that influneces disobedience is Satan and makes it clear that our faith and trust in God deliverses us form the power of Satan.
Jesus is God's masterpiece, and whoever wills is welcomed to abide/dwell in Jesus and have Jesus abide in us. How wonderful the grace of our God. These greatly blessed ones, the Church, will be the exhibit of God's grace and kindness through Jesus (V.7). Believers are now seated with Christ in the spirit world(V.6) which means having authority over evil forces, like a judge in a court room. Only as we know Jesus and identify with Him.
If you are saved through your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ reconcile Mat. 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. You cannot read even one verse that through faith your soul be saved. But many verses to save our soul is a work individually to obey the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faith and good works through his words equal salvation. Verses to prove that individual/your own work are the foll.: Exeq. 14:14, 14:20, Exeq. 18:27, Acts 2:40, Philip. 2:12 & James 1: 21-22.
It doesnt matter what my past looks like GOD is rich in mercy2 and has forgive all my sins,am no longer condemed, i must press on for greater things and know GOD more everyday. Lets recieve the mercy of GOD today and walk in his freedom
I have been home-less since the home I helped built with my father was gutted by fire; I tried to get help to rebuil that old home but there are stumbling blocks and leaving my place of birth was my only option. I know that God has a way to work things out in "his" own way. I never lost any hope. Maybe building a home in another county all together is my option I never considered and will give a try come Jan. 2011...
I can relate to this chapter; I was walking accordingly...I took my stand not to kill another human being, so made a plea for my one of my constituent to kill "The Most powerful one."
There are many present tense salvation statements in new testament writings that traditional interpretation has erroneously placed into the future i.e.(after we die). Col. 1:13 says "He hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son". Obviously, those who are in Christ are now seated in heavenly places. To be seated is to be in a position of authority i.e. a judge is seated in a court room. The word heaven comes from "heaved up" indicating the spirit world. In Eph. 6:12 the same Gr. word is translated into "High places" where powers of spiritual wickedness are. The Bible indicates levels of spiritual authority. The ultimate eternal authority, of course is God Himself. God created man a little lower than the angels ( Psalms 8:5). So we have God-angels-man-animals. Satan is of the angel level, which is why Michael could not accuse the devil ( Jude 9). However, being "In the Lord" believers are now seated in authority over the spiritual forces of evil. Beloved, now are we the sons of God ( 1 Jn. 3:2). Jesus gave all power over the the enemy to his followers (Lu. 10:19). Jesus entrusted His power to believers, for believers to apply in His name, and for His glory. That is why we are to dress ourselves with His salvation, truth, faith and righteousness ( Eph. 6:14-17). Being in Christ, we are now in a position over the devils, to command them to to obey His authority as He told us to do. ( Mk. 16:15-18 & Jn. 14:12-14). Christian love to those who disagree.
This chapter is great news! Jesus Christ died and shedded His blood and was rasied from the dead while we were yet sinners to give us salvation a gift of life. all we have to do is to recieve it! In other words claim our gift! Not by works...we are His workmanship! Praise God!
To enter into the kingdom of heaven is dual. Faith to the Lord Jesus Christ heartily and faith to His words. I would not deny that faith alone can saved. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us an example to the one on His side also hanging on the cross whom he has given a promised to enter into the kingdom of heaven. After that promised he was dead, so nothing bad works or evil thoughts he can do again because his body is dead. Not like us, to compare the faith to the one of the robbers because we are alive, so after receiving the Lord Jesus Christ by faith, our evil thoughts, evil eyes was there and also of being a liar. To erase this we have to work and practice to follow HIS words and ask Him for help and pray that all our bad works will be clean before His judgement. We know we are all temporary here, so why not we prepared on that day to come. The word salvation in Eph. 2:8&9 is very broad. The meaning of salvation is someone is in bad condition/situation and then in turn became to a good condition/situation. There are many ways to receive salvation. For example in material things: salvation from hunger, salvation from accident & sickness. In Spiritual things, there are also many ways to receive salvation: 1) 1) 1Cor. 9:21-22- salvation to those who have no knowledge, continue to Rom. 10:3, 2) Eph. 2:8&9- salvation through faith. this kind of salvation is that our sins was saved. Ref. verses: Mat. 9:2 & Acts 10:43. This kind of faith is not a guarantee to enter into heaven. 3) James 1:21-22 - salvation of our soul. This is a guarantee to enter into heaven. If your soul is pure, perfect, holy & blameless. 4) Rom. 5:9 - salvation from the wrath of God, because this world will suffer various destruction. There are verses to support salvation of our Soul is individual/own works and not by faith where are many believers was deceived. Ref. verses: Acts 2:40, Philip. 2:12. 1Tim. 4:16 & James 1:21-22. Our God will judge to our works whether good or bad. Our God will not judge to our faith to Him. But God judge us is based in HIS words. Supporting verses: 2Cor. 5:10, Ecclesias. 12:14 & John 12:48."
2:3 here by Know we that we Know him if we keep His commandments ...Ralph the commandments spoken of here Are 3:23 you mentioned Mathew 7:21 Not every one that says unto me Lord Lord shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me that all that seeth the son and believeth on him may have everlasting life and I will raise him up at the last day Mat 7:22 In that day many will say unto me Lord Lord have WE not prophosized in thy name cast out demons in thy name and in thy name 1 done many wonderfull works they are trying to get into heaven by thier works Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of Your it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast Mat 7:23 Then will I profess unto them i never new you depart from me ye that work iniquity 1John 2:3 hereby know we that we know him if we keep his Commandments 3:23 And this is his commandment that we believe on the name of his son Jesus Christ And love one another as he gave commandment
This scripture speaks volumes to me and lets me know that I am no longer a Gentile but a Heir of Christ, friend, servant, overcomer and all that encompasses the grace & mercy of GOD! I am FREE to live life with excellence and to its fullest!!!
Dave, if you read a little closer you will see that the birds fly in heaven everyday. So sending a man a little further up in to heaven is no big deal. In facts if you study the Bible you will find out that there are multiple heavens mentioned.
2 Chronicles 2:6 But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?
You see God is not waiting in outer space for men to reach Him, He has already come down to men.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
He came to give you life if you will receive it.
Mark 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
It comes by faith when you turn from your pride and turn to God.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
This verse in modern day seems to me to be directed at a person who used to spend time watching television or on a computer doing bad things. This person now walks with Jesus and realizes the Prince of the waves is Satans way to lead his people. I personally believe the computer is the mark of the beast.
The blood of Jesus spilt at his death for our redemption and reconciliation to God ended the commandments contained in the ordinances that were carnal; by his death and obeying his commandments which are spiritual we are now able to partake in his grace and receive the promises and mercy which was once only for the Jews
