You are correct, death is the devil's way. The Canaanites dedicated themselves to the devil resulting in their own miserable destruction. God gave them more than 400 years to repent ( Genesis 15:16). Then the LORD, to whom the promised land belongs, judged righteously and cleaned them out.
I understand Genesis 4:26, and specifically the word "began" in this way:
Mankind in general, and Adam, in particular, was properly calling upon the name of the LORD long before the birth of "Enos." Suitable worship of the LORD did not begin with this one "Enos," as Scripture has already given us the example of Abel, whose tribute unto the LORD for his transgressions was found to be acceptable by Him ( Genesis 4:4).
Many believe this verse to convey the sense that the worshippers of the LORD began, at this point in time, to publically band together, calling or representing themselves as dedicated disciples to God and His word. These measures were taken by them in order to distinguish themselves from the wicked generations of Cain, known as "Kenites" ( Genesis 15:19), that were rapidly advancing in all facets of life; especially their worship of their god, Satan.
I believe that what did originate with "Enos" can be better understood from the Hebrew word "chalal," which is translated "began" in Genesis 4:26. The definition and etymology of the word should be reviewed for clearer understanding.
The practice "Enos began" was that of profaning and defiling himself, his heritage, and most importantly, the name of the LORD. "Enos began" calling the names of men, and the names of idols, directly by the name of the LORD, thereby allowing even more confusion to be brought upon the true children of God that are eagerly wanting to understand His precepts.
Given below is ( Genesis 4:26) from the Targum of Jonathan;
"And to Sheth also was born a son, and he called his name Enosh. That was the generation in whose days they began to err, and to make themselves idols, and surnamed their idols by the name of the Word of the Lord."
Some argue in that, there is then no room for repentance. If God says through FAITH we are justified & Abraham was considered righteous by faith. Genesis 15:6 is the act because of lack of faith?
yes, we're in the Laodicean age, as in Revelations 3:14 - 22. Most important point is, Be ready at all times ! Look to the sky and patiently, with excitement, wait for Jesus' soon return to receive us to be with Him forever. !!! wow !! I get me excited
13
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14
And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
16
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again. 120x3=360 40=400 years. God knows math.
15:6 'And he believed in the LORD and He counted it to him for righteousness.' Abraham had faith in the LORD and because of his faith he is justified. Belief is all you require to be saved. By grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. Eph 2:8
Abraham was saved long before the Law was given to Moses. This is a verse that I hope I always remember.
I love Gen. 15, IN kjv. Abraham was a type of God the Father. Thats what abraham means exaulted FATHER, IN REALITY ITS God the father that wants a posterity,God wants to be the father of many nations. Just as Abraham offered up his only son it was a metaphor for God almighty offering up his only son CHRIST JESUS,In reality its Christ that is gonna be multiplied as the stars of heaven. The Promise.
Verse 6: Jehovah God viewed Abraham's trust and faith in him as something righteous. We must have a strong faith in God in order to be considered righteous in his eyes.
Cole: Matthew 24:29 is The Sixth Seal in Revelation/ the four seals have been opened: Revelation6:8--- and power was given unto them over one fourth of the earth,to kill with sword, hunger and death and beast of the earth. That's what's going on the other side of the world. Tribulation and persecution of believers and nonbeliever,jailed,tortured,starved,beheaded

Hi Lisa, I am praying for you immediately, but when you pray talk to your god in private as him to give you wisdom and try praying at least three times. and fast off something you love one to three days, so the enemy will flee from you and the most high can have the space in you to do his work, this is why this scripture says no man can serve two masters, stay strong. Love peace and happiness.
Hello Everyone,
I am so greatful that I again have started reading the bible. I ask for your hand in prayer in helping me to restore my faith and open my heart. I also need a job for i am 2 months behind in my mortgage as in other respondsibilities. I thank you all.
The Lord's promise to Abram in verse 5 is impossible in a human perspective, but Abram BELIEVED (verse 6). Such a powerful representation and metaphor of faith.
Bro Timothy has a lot of questions. I think he needs to read more of his bible. This story of Abram is just one of GOD'S promises being fulfilled. God is an awesome God and He can not lie. He always keeps His promises. They are on His time not ours. 1 day for us can be a 1000.00 yrs for him. Just keep the faith and know It's Jesus Christ that's coming back for us and only God knows when.
In verse 6 it says Abram believed God and God counted it to him for righteousness. In verse 8 Abram is questioning the Lord, how is to know of this inheritance, the Lord is very faithful in keeping His promises and showing us when we ask Him things. Praise God:)
Jeff, I do not believe the stars are infinite and the bible does not indicate this, it says that they cannot be numbered. Even with our technology today we cannot number the stars or the descendants of Abraham.
i believe it has one of the greatest promises God gave to man and it teaches us to have faith and hold on to the lords promises for our lives regardless of how hopeless our situation might be
