My niece, Jillian, passed away at the tender age of 20 years old seven years ago. At the service I remember praying for her, crying out to go to be merciful and asking him if it be possible that she be with him in heaven. He spoke to me and his response was very clear... Shall not the Judge of all the earth do that which is right? At the time I was not sure exactly where I had read that but later I learned that those were the very words spoken to Abraham. I shall never forget that moment and be amazed at how the Lord answers our prayers if only we will stop and listen.

There are many revelations contained in the chapter.
Some of them are as follows:
    1. God sees what man cannot see. He knows the heart of every man.He knew the thoughts of Sarah
    2. He is always ready to bless the Righteous.Every delayed blessing always culminate into terrific blessings.
    3. There is nothing impossible for him to create, resolve or sort out.
    4. He reveals secrets to the Righteous
    5. He loves and blesses Men who take or will take care of their members of their Household.

    @ Lucy,

Well I'm not sure exaclty what and where YOU were reading, but God has indeed left his throne at LEAST once. I seem to remember him showing someone his hinder parts , "For no man can look at my face an yet live..." or something to that degree...Moses ring a bell?

Genesis 18 gives us the example to follow since God is the Judge of all the earth, and will do what is right. God knows how many righteous people there are in Sodom and Gomorrah. God wants Abraham to intercede for Lot. God sends the Angels as men to investigate the wickedness of these cities. God is proving to Abraham that he is just and will not destroy the righteous with the wicked. This is proof to us today that the Church will not go through the tribulation. Just as Abraham interceded for Lot, we too should intercede for our love ones to be saved from the tribulation and hell. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all will come to repentance. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life no one comes to the Father but by him.

Why does an omniscient God not know in advance how many righteous people live in Sodom & Gomorrah?

    this is remains physiologically incomprehensible

RN Frey. There was no reference as to a time frame as to which the meal was prepared. Only that to Sarah, in which she was to knead and prepare bread on the hearth.

yes...Abraham did speak with God..Abraham was called the friend, and because of his close relationship with God, and his faithfulness. Isaiah 41:8 according to: Gen. 12:1, Gen 15:18, Gal. 3:6, Hab. 6:13, James 2:23. Abraham was a friend of God. All the friends i have , they know me.....

I am sorry for the type error within my question of asking did God really converse with God.I meant to say Abraham.was God really talking with Him;that is one of my questions
  • James e.watson on Genesis 18 - 14 years ago

    Hi R.N Frey,

I think this may answer your question:
    Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you;

    Genesis Chap. 9

3 even as the green herb have I given you all things.

4 But flesh with the life thereof, [which is] the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
  • Lucy on Genesis 18 - 14 years ago
I belive the meat was roasted this is narration, without time lapse explanation. Here it is the LORD Himself visiting Abraham. All the priest were commanded to cook or roast meat before eating it in the sanctuary.

This must be Jesus and two angels not the trinity because God the father doesnt not leave his Heavenly throne (seat). He is forever worshipped there. By the 24 elder and hosts of angels Read reveleation.

THE THREE MEN (THE LORD and ANGELS)(THREE ANGELS)(GOD AND TWO ANGELS) (THE TRINITY)

No one actually knows - "Mens wisdom is fooishness to GOD")
  • R.N. Frey on Genesis 18:8 - 15 years ago
I love reading this account of Abraham's intercession with his covenant God. I have always wondered about the haste with which the meal was prepared. It hardly seems possible that there was time to prepare a ROAST. In my reading of accounts of life among the American Indians, They often ate of their game raw and fresh from the kill. As repulsive as this may seem to us
'civilzed' fast food folk, I would have to accept the cultural possibility of that being hospitable fare. ANY ONE HAVE A REPLY ??
