It is true that our answer to the question of the origin of God is faith-based. However, it is also true that the main-stream answer to the origin of man is faith-based. Many scientists today are finding evidences that support very well, a young earth scenario, which is what the bible teaches. Still if you are disinclined to believe that this means God created us and had no previous origin himself, then you are correct, we were not there, we are indeed asking you to accept something by faith. It is an issue that cannot be forced, as microbe-to-man evolution should not be forced since it is a faith-based answer which "only serves to strengthen" the world-view of those proposing it and many who buy into it.

I have more of a question then a comment. Where did God come from? The answer "because the Bible said so" is not a good answer because it only serves to strengthen your religious views and has no scientific credibility.Somebody must have created him. Who created Gods creator? and so on. I hope you have the courage to post this, most Christians refuse to even entertain the idea or concept. Have a great day now!

Genesis 1:14 God never went ahead to mourn over darkness but He said; let there be light and so it was. keeping silent of your dark situation is shutting your destiny. speak something positive about it and the situation will change.

this explains that the universe/galaxy/milkyway is never millions or billions of years old...since God created the sun, moon and stars only after He had created the earth..how glorious is the Lord Most High...!how wonderful are the works of His hands, as the Psalmist said in Ps139..."how precious are your thoughts of Lord, how vast is the sum of them, were i to count them it will outnumber the grain of sand...?" who can fathom HIS greatness...the Creator of the heavens and the earth..

Cain was the first child of Adam and Eve recorded in Scripture ( Genesis 4:1). His brothers, Abel ( Genesis 4:2) and Seth ( Genesis 4:25), were part of the first generation of children ever born on this earth.

Even though only these three males are mentioned by name, Adam and Eve had other children. In Genesis 5:4 a statement sums up the life of Adam and Eve—“And the days of Adam after he had fathered Seth were eight hundred years. And he fathered sons and daughters.” This does not say when they were born. Many could have been born in the 130 years ( Genesis 5:3) before Seth was born.

During their lives, Adam and Eve had a number of male and female children. The Jewish historian Josephus wrote that, “The number of Adam's children, as says the old tradition, was thirty-three sons and twenty-three daughters.”[11]

The Bible does not tell us how many children were born to Adam and Eve. However, considering their long life spans (Adam lived for 930 years— Genesis 5:5), it would seem reasonable to suggest there were many! Remember, They were commanded to “Be fruitful, and multiply” ( Genesis 1:28).

When God created light and declared it was good then darkness was known to be not good. This is a mighty picture of God coming on to the scene of nothingness. To understand God one must be able to understand all things that are not of God. For instance, to understand truth one must understand lies and so lies must be created. By the mere presence of God lies must be created to understand truth. The darkness, since it declared to be not good will hold all of these forces that will oppose God. These forces that oppose God must be for man to understand the qualities of God. For every quality of God there must be opposite forces or we could never understand goodness. God created evil and it resides in the darkness in many forms but remember; for us to understand God these forces must be. There is a gray zone in between the light and the darkness. This is where man resides. This is where God cast mankind to come to understand the difference between the two opposing forces. The gray zone is a horrible place; a battle ground, a mixing pot of good and evil but this must be for God to finish creating man. Jesus had to come to the gray zone. He didn't like it here and couldn't wait to leave. You and I are like Jesus. We want out of the gray zone and because of what Jesus did and us accepting we will get out. There will be many spirits that will not get out. When God removes the light then the gray zone and all who will stay in it will be in the darkness forever.

I think many people put constraints on the power of God. He is God, He is all powerful. In Genesis 1:3 the source of the light was made by God, period. What does it matter that it was a different light source, other than the sun, moon, or stars that were created afterwards in day four? If you stop and think, there are still other sources if light today as we speak. One is lightning it is another natural source, and so is the light from a fire fly. So why is it inconceivable that God made another source of light before the sun, moon, or stars?

777Yeshua777: I think your theory regarding the creation of humans other than Adam and Eve does not withstand analysis. See Genesis 3:20: "And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living."

Hello Alan; here's what the scriptures say about your question. ( Psalm 8:1; also verse 3) Psalm 113:4, just to mention two. After reading these scriptures I have reason to believe that there are different dimensions of heaven, so if you're talking about where God is I don't think that's a good assumption according to these scriptures. Hope these help, they helped me. Pray For me Ok?
  • Alan on Genesis 1:17 - 12 years ago
If, according to the bible, the sun and moon are in heaven, and we put people on the moon, then we've put people in heaven and back again.

@Liz. Genesis 1:26-29 YHVH created mankind, instructed them to fill the earth, and that every green herb that bore seed, that covered all the earth, would be food for them.

After the 1st Sabbath, YHVH formed a man from the dust of the ground. ( Genesis 2:7) His instructions were to tend the Garden.

Adam was not the first man, merely the first to live in the Garden. Cain married someone from those who were created. The Bible says he travelled to a place that already had a name.

We are made in the image of God, that is body, soul and spirit. God says, " Let us..." referring to Him being, Body, Soul, and Spirit.

The "us" in this verse is a reference to God's 3 distinct personalities or personas. It is not a reference to the angelic host or to us humans. For this reason, no human can claim to be a member of the Trinity or God.

Even more revealing is the revelation that God's 3 selves talk to each other. This is God talking among himself. What I am saying is, the self distinction of the Son talks to the self distinctions of the Father and the Holy Spirit. This is how God makes his dicisions. We shouldn't be suprised at this because it is much the same way we talk things over within ourselves.

We see this taking place in Gethsemane when Jesus said to the Father, "My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me." We don't hear what the Father is saying because the Father does not speak so that we can hear him. Jesus said that we have never heard his voice, and we never will. In other words, all the words we will ever hear from God will come from Jesus. This will be true even when we are in heaven.
  • Rev. Autrey on Genesis 1:1 - 12 years ago
This verse says that God created the heavens and the earth. John 1:3 says that Jesus created everything there is. We must conclude, then, that Jesus is God.

What we are talking about is self identity or persona. God has 3 personas: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus, then, is the persona or personality through whom God interacts with the human race. The Father is the personality by which God directs his affairs. And the Holy Spirit is the way God inspires us to believe in what is taking place.

The trouble is, we tend to think of God as a composite, made up of 3 separate parts combined into one. But this is not so. If it were, then at one time there wpuld have been 3 Gods. This is what the pagans believe.

The one God is 3 distinct persons or selves. This is what the Bible teaches and what we must believe. Let's say it this way, The same God who is Jesus, is the same God who is the Father and the Holy Spirit. This is how Jesus can say that if you have seen me you have seen the Father. In other words, they along with the Holy Spirit, are the same God.

But the bottom line is: Jesus is the way God deals with us, and always will be!
