We read in Jesus's longest prayer in John 17. For the reason Jesus was sent, He says, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
There is one people of God, as stated in Ephesians 2:15-16.
Scripture does not teach that Israel and the Church are two peoples of God with two destinies. Our final destiny is Revelation 21:1-7. There is not one verse in the Bible that outright says we go or are taken to heaven. From Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, the entire Bible is about the Plan of God and the grace of God. From the beginning of creation. Revelation 3:14 to the end, Revelation 22:12-13.
Genesis 22:18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. Galatians 3:28-29 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
The mystery is that the blessings of Abraham might come on all believers, Jew or Gentile, through Jesus Christ, Galatians 3:14. Jesus had to fulfill the covenant of the law to bring in the new covenant that was prophesied in Daniel 9:27.
The Bible has one theme, one covenant of grace, with one Church united in Christ, with Gentile salvation in view from the beginning. Jews were being saved back then, and today, in God's plan for ethnic Jews, not by giving them a separate destiny as a separate people of God, but by bringing them back to Jesus Christ through faith.
I don't believe you have a grip on Covenant theology or Dispensationalism in regards to where they split.
Nor do you seem to understand what makes one qualify as Replacement Theology.
You stated "If I read Galatians you will know that Paul attests to the blessing of Abraham coming upon the Gentiles who have faith like Abraham along with Israelites who have faith like Abraham. (3:6-9; 14; 17; 22; 26;29.)
I don't believe there is anything in the book of Galatians that Covenant theology and Dispensationalist disagree on!!
Gigi I don't know if you are purposely doing this or not.
This has nothing to do with Genesis 22:18 or Galatians 3:16-29.
Those scriptures has nothing to do with the eschatology covenant promises to Abraham and the Davidic Kingdom!
You also stated;
We do not see ethnic Israel as any more special or preferred by God as any other people group.
Why did you feel the need to say that?
Gigi, Let's calm down and try to correctly hear one another.
"That's why God waited for Abraham and Sarah. He gave them the promise and waited for them to become elderly and unable to produce children themselves naturally, so that when God moved, it would be all of God, not of man. That's how God works!" end quote. Well stated!
When God performed a covenant with Abraham in Genesis 15:2-6, he didn't allow Abraham to participate. He put Abraham to sleep.
We see the promise of Issac and blessings in various verses throughout the OT.
.
Here's a couple.
1) Genesis 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
2) Genesis 22:16-18.
And that goes for us also!
"For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise." Galatians 4:22-28.
ALSO.
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. Galatians 3:16-17.
In John 5:38-40 we have Jesus speaking to the Pharisees.
And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Jesus is referring to the old testament scriptures. The new testament haven't been recorded yet.
I mention this because the old testament/covenant established under the Levitical priesthood was a foreshadowing of the new covenant that Christ brought in on the cross.
So you see, the Gospel of salvation is mentioned throughout the Bible starting with Genesis. Most notably ( Genesis 3:15 )
You may be able to parallel John 5:38-40 with Hebrews 10:5-10.
Genesis 3:15 - And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Genesis 12:3 - And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Genesis 22:18 - And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Jeremiah 31:33 - But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Mark 12:29-31 - And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30, And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31, And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Acts 17:11 - These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
1 Corinthians 13:13 - And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2, By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3, For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4, And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Thank you Woe for your detailed response. If I might begin at the start of your comment. You referred to Galatians chapter 3 & Exodus 34:28. The Covenant that God made with Abraham (otherwise called the Abrahamic Covenant) had nothing to do with the Ten Commandments ( Ex 34:28 doesn't indicate that at all). The Abrahamic Covenant is found in various portions in Genesis 12:1-3; Genesis 15:18-21; Genesis 17:1-22; Genesis 22:16-18. The Ten Commandments were never given to Abraham; Abraham was commended for his faith & obedience, outside of any Law. He only received the Promise.
Galatians 3:17-19 which you quoted. Verse 17 particularly: "And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect". The comparison here is made to the promise of God to Abraham (the Covenant), that the Ten Commandments were given 430 years after God's Promises to Abraham. So, there aren't two Laws, just one given at Mt. Sinai - what was given to Abraham wasn't the Law but the inheritance by Promise. (cont'd on Page 2)
God chose Israel to be a light to the nations, a kingdom of priests, and to showcase his redeeming grace and righteous judgment. Isaiah 42:6-7
God chose a man (Abraham) to enter an unconditional covenant with and to perform an oath with whom he would make a father of many nations by faith.
Galatians 3:17-29.
Genesis 15:1-12
Genesis 22:15-18
"And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Every time Israel angered the Lord; he remembered his oath to Abraham.
Here is Deuteronomy 7:8 reads (A verse you referenced)
But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
That oath and covenant to Abraham still stands today, however look at the repetitive condition of throughout the years.
Deuteronomy 8:19-20.
Only thing here is elected is THE WAY AND MEANS through a promise to salvation by faith.
In scripture when identifying a man and his genealogy it's always the seed of the man.
It's a contradiction with the Hebrew usage of the term when saying "Seed of the woman.
We know he's not talking biologically because that would be Abel or Seth or another one of their unnamed children.
Identifying the genealogy of someone in scripture is always Identified through the man.
What's interesting is Adam is left out!
Christ was to be born of a woman in the lineage of Israel and his father was God.!
There is no need for a biological seed here. It wasn't a biological birth, Christ came from pre-existance origin.
This is amplified in Isaiah 7:13-14.
Elsewhere the seed is mentioned and identified in relation to Genesis 3:15 is Genesis 22:18 "And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
"And confirmed in Galatians 3:16 "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Part 8. J Vernon Mcgee. (Paul and James Use Abraham to Illustrate.)
So Paul's example has to do with the early part of Abraham's life. When James presents his argument, we find that he deals with the end of Abraham's life and the offering of Isaac upon the altar. This was the last appearance of God to this man, and James says, in essence, "Now here is the example of what faith has done in this man's life - it has brought him to make the supreme sacrifice."
Look again at James 2:21: "Was not Abraham, our father, justified by works, when he had offered Isaac, his son, upon the altar?" Now in what way does the offering of Isaac reveal the fact that Abraham was justified by works? To see this clearly, we need to notice some very familiar facts. These interesting incidents took place toward the end of the life of Abraham when God called upon him to make the great sacrifice - which was the supreme crisis in his life.
God's Test - Genesis 22.
"And it came to pass after these things, that God did test Abraham" ( Genesis 22:1). The King James Version uses the word "tempt," but the New Scofield Reference Bible changes it to "test." I know that it's the same Greek word that you will find for "tempt," but you will also recall that James says,
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. ( James 1:13)
Now when a man is tempted with evil, it is never God tempting him; it is Satan. God does not tempt men with evil; He tempts them with the good. He tests men in that sense. God's tests always lead to discipline and development of Christian character and life, while the tests and temptations of Satan always lead to the destruction of the life of the individual. Here we see that Abraham is being tested of God for his own good.
Vs 14-18. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh, as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD; for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son; That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Was Abraham justified by works? Yes.
Scripture says that he was justified by works. ( James 2:21-24)
Do we have here a contradiction to the apostle Paul? Did not Paul say that Abraham was justified by faith - not by works? Paul makes a very specific statement in Romans:
"For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath something of which to glory, but not before God. ( Romans 4:2)
Then over in Galatians 3:6 we read, "Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."
Is Paul and James writings in conflict on this point? NO!
Here is an article by J Vernon Mcgee explaining this Paradox.
Paul vs. James in the Use of Words.
May I hasten to state that Paul and James do not conflict at all. They are in entire agreement. As someone has said, "Paul and James do not stand face to face, fighting against each other, but they stand back to back fighting opposite foes." The whole problem lies in the fact that they use the same words, but with a different meaning altogether. They are discussing the same subject from different viewpoints. This you will find upon examining the context.
See Part 4.
J Vernon Mcgee. (Paul vs. James in the Use of Words)
YHWH / YAHWEH / JEHOVAH [yah-way / ji-hoh-veh]: "LORD" ( Deuteronomy 6:4; Daniel 9:14) - strictly speaking, the only proper name for God. Translated in English Bibles "LORD" (all capitals) to distinguish it from Adonai, "Lord." The revelation of the name is given to Moses "I Am who I Am" ( Exodus 3:14). This name specifies an immediacy, a presence. Yahweh is present, accessible, near to those who call on Him for deliverance ( Psalm 107:13), forgiveness ( Psalm 25:11) and guidance ( Psalm 31:3).
YAHWEH-JIREH [yah-way-ji-reh]: "The Lord Will Provide" ( Genesis 22:14) - the name memorialized by Abraham when God provided the ram to be sacrificed in place of Isaac.
YAHWEH-RAPHA [yah-way-raw-faw]: "The Lord Who Heals" ( Exodus 15:26) - "I am Jehovah who heals you" both in body and soul. In body, by preserving from and curing diseases, and in soul, by pardoning iniquities.
YAHWEH-NISSI [yah-way-nee-see]: "The Lord Our Banner" ( Exodus 17:15), where banner is understood to be a rallying place. This name commemorates the desert victory over the Amalekites in Exodus 17.
YAHWEH-M'KADDESH [yah-way-meh-kad-esh]: "The Lord Who Sanctifies, Makes Holy" ( Leviticus 20:8; Ezekiel 37:28) - God makes it clear that He alone, not the law, can cleanse His people and make them holy.
YAHWEH-SHALOM [yah-way-shah-lohm]: "The Lord Our Peace" ( Judges 6:24) - the name given by Gideon to the altar he built after the Angel of the Lord assured him he would not die as he thought he would after seeing Him.
YAHWEH-ELOHIM [yah-way-el-oh-him]: "LORD God" ( Genesis 2:4; Psalm 59:5) - a combination of God's unique name YHWH and the generic word for "God" signifying that He is the Lord who is God.
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:
He staggered not at the PROMISE of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
And being fully persuaded that, what he had PROMISED, he was able also to perform.
And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
NOW IT WAS NOT WRITTEN FOR HIS SAKE ALONE, that it was imputed to him;
BUT FOR US ALSO, TO WHOM IT SHALL BE IMPUTED, if we BELIEVE ON HIM THAT RAISED UP JESUS OUR LORD FROM THE DEAD;
Who was delivered for OUR OFFENCES, and was raised again for OUR JUSTIFICATION.
Galatians 4:28
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of PROMISE.
Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:16-19.
For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by PROMISE.
Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
CONCLUSION
Galatians 3:27-29.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Covenants of God: Introduction: God's patterns in initiation
1. End of Dispensation: Judgment of men
2. Signs and Wonders
3. Element of fire
4, Blessings and cursings
5. Separation of God's people
6. Be fruitful and multiply
EDEN. God sent out man after what is known as the "Age of Innocence"; possibly that involved an implied covenant with Adam
to care for the earth; and the first marriage. Man would be mortal and suffer on earth; and driven out from the Garden
and the Tree of Life. The Serpent was cursed; and by implication Satan. The death blow was promised in Genesis 3:15 along
with God's final victory. Judgment came on Cain and would affect his descendants in Genesis 4:15.
NOAH. God made a covenant symbolized by the rainbow after destroying all but Noah and his family (8 people). He promised never to destroy the earth by water again. The animals were part of the plan for preservation and interestingly part of the
covenant promises ( Gen. 9:12). He also was told to be fruitful and multiply anong with his sons( Gen. 9:1); compare with Genesis 1:28). Genesis 10:15-18 had Ham's one son cursed (no time to elaborate here).
ABRAHAM: Sent from Ur of the Chaldees; and given promises through fire in Genesis 15:17-20 when asleep (note Adam's
deep sleep in Genesis 2:21). He was promised miraculously to have innumerable offspring in Genesis 22:17. Judgment
came on Sodom in Genesis 18; Abraham's relative and family.
EXODUS/DEUTERONOMY: God at Horeb appears in fire and smoke; and great sounds to produce fear of His Name; then promises to bring them fully out of the promised land. Ten Commandments "seal the deal" as it was being a peculiar people.
God eventually purged out the rebels; only Caleb and Joseph made it to the promised land of that generation along with children.
BOOK OF ACTS: Pentecost brings about Church Age and New Covenant with fire; signs and wonders. God judges Israel AD 70; final judgment promised later.
There are 2 facets to the Cross the new Covenant from Calvary....Plz keep that in mind.....One is redemption for humanity via his precious blood.....But the 2 nd is multiplication of his seed...Smite the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered then i will turn my hand to the lil ONES....The babes and suckling he mentions that can worship God with a Perfect Praise.....That are gonna be born in us that hear his words his seeds.....Thats y he is saying whosoever receiveth one such Child in my NAME receiveth ME.....Which are the Children of Promise.....An Israel of God.....The Children of the kingdom...
.......That was the great PROMISE..... Genesis 22:17......I will multiply thy seed as the stars of Heaven.....Thus multiplication of his precious seed in humanity.....Resulting in a Baby Christ born in us sinners who cd not keep the law in a Dream.....And this Child is born of God in us and he cannot sin.....Thus fulfilling the law.....The 2 nd facet is truly multiplication of his seed in humanity...Thus the sower and his precious seed.....When a seed dies it multiplies.....He told the Greeks unless a seed dies it abides alone...Just 1 seed ....but if it dies it will bring forth much fruit many Christ.....Everybody is gonna get a seed thus everybody is gonna birth him.....The Greeks wanted to see him.....The whole world is gonna see him b/c of what he did at Calvary that New Covenant in his blood....Remember God Almighty was so passionate about this Promise of multiplication that he swore by his very self...Thats y Jesus is saying to whom the word came ( the living word) it made them Gods and the scriptures cannot be broken....Living scriptures his offspring born in us via his seed.....Thats y the woman is giving birth ,its simply a picture of multiplication of his seed.....And thats y the dragon satan wants to kill the woman and her CHILD...Her Child is gonna reprove this world of sin and righteousness and Judgement....Which is the spirit of truth Jesus spoke of.
I don't think you will find it worded the way you worded it in your post with the actual word "Immediately".
But salvation is immediate when one truly believes and throughout the scripture it teaches that.
Actually in your original post you mentioned "some saying this before judgment".
I believe in your past posts you believes no one knows they're saved until Judgment.
The response from most of us is that a Christian is not part of that Judgment.
However we won't get into that here.
Here's what I will like to declare yo you.
I honestly believe there has been verses given that declares what you are looking for. And the Bible as a whole speaks on this aspect.
God spoke also in types that speaks on this.
Here's a few examples;
When God destroyed Sodom, When was lot saved?
When he left?
To answer that we would have to ask, When was he declared righteous.
God told Abraham he wouldn't destroy it if he found so many righteous. But do you notice the Angels wouldn't do anything until Lot was out of there!!
Genesis 19:21-22.
So was Lot saved before or after Judgment?
Let's look at Noah's Ark in the same light. When was Noah declared righteous?
When the Ark doors opened and closed or when God told him to start building it? Genesis 6:8. (The ark is a type.)
Adam, Galatians 4:28 says "Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
When we look at the story of Abraham getting ready to offer up Isaac as a sacrifice, If you study that carefully you'll see Abraham had faith before he started his journey! In Genesis 22:7-8 Isaac asked Abraham where is the Lamb for the burnt offering?
Abraham said, God will provide himself a burt offering!!
Abraham knew Isaac was the Child God promised would be his heir and he would have to raise him from the dead.
We're children of promise also!
By faith we're joint heirs of the promise with Abraham. God keeps his covenants and promises.
I know this has been discussed before and we have different understandings, but just have a couple of thoughts to consider, I will not go over all this prophecy just the first of 9:27.
If I am correct, it is thought the 69th week ended when Jesus' ride into Jerusalem fulfilling Zech. 9:9. Dan. 9:26 says 69 weeks unto the Messiah, should we look over the 3.5 years from when Jesus was baptized and anointed with the Holy Spirit? Look at the multitude that met Him when He rode in, they knew who He was, He came for the lost sheep of Israel.
The antichrist will make a covenant with Israel. We go to Dan. 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: So here we have the last week/7 years and he is said to be the antichrist.
"He shall confirm the covenant with many", could he in this verse fit Jesus? Psalms 105:8-11Isaiah 42:6Isaiah 49:8Isaiah 49:6Romans 15:8Galatians 3:17Hebrews 13:20 I could list many more. The word confirm does not mean make, it shows us the covenant already existed. Confirm means to strengthen, to be stronger.
God made a covenant with Abraham and Abraham said God would provide Himself a Lamb, Genesis 22:7-8, was Jesus this Lamb, Isaiah 53:7John 1:29Revelation 5:6. This covenant is with many, Zechariah 2:11Isaiah 53:11Matthew 20:28Matthew 26:28Romans 5:15,19. Jesus was sent to confirm the promise/covenant made unto Abraham, Romans 15:8. Could Jesus be this he?
"In the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease" Sacrifice and Oblation, the first word is talking about the daily sacrifices, the Tamid, the morning and evening lamb the same time Jesus was on the cross 9 AM the first to 3 PM the last. Then the second word refers to all of the other offerings presented to the Lord.
Do you think the sacrifice and oblation was designed by God to completely cease upon the finished work of Jesus on the cross? Hebrews 9.
Eschatology is shaped around this topic. Also Dispensationalism and covenant theology is tested by this in a sense.
This is something I've been wanting to get to for some time now but I've been to busy.
Thanks for bringing this up.
Some say God is done with Israel and the unfulfilled old testament promises was fulfilled in the Church.
And there's others weren't comfortable with that and say those promises was made to the church not " The Nation Israel."
I would direct both of these groups to Isaiah 41:8-9.
"But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. ( Seed in this verse is not used in the way it's used in Genesis 22:18.) The seed in Genesis 22:18 relates to a promise of Christ.
Seed in Isaiah 41:8 relates to a nation whom that promised seed would come.
You will see the interpretation of these verses moved around to shape or hold on to a certain espoused eschatology.
When it comes to identifying a people there's three groups as seen in 1 Corinthians 10:32. ( Jews, Gentiles and the Church. )
The rolls and promises to these groups are distinct. Understanding that is important. .
Alex1939...Billy its a picture of the offering up of Christ Jesus...That Ram caught caught in the thicket by his horns was symbolic of Christ and HIS CROWN OF THORNS...That resulted in the great Promise that there was gonna be a nation of Israel via Abraham's seed...B/C thou has done this thing i will multiply thy seed as the sands of the seas...That resulted in Jacob and the 12 tribes...
.....Thus the offering up of Christ is gonna result in an Israel of God the H.G. Plural as the stars of Heaven..That 2 nd Promise ... Gal 6:16 Which are spirits the H.G. PLURAL...That New Covenant in his blood...I will pour out of my spirit on ALL FLESH...If i be lifted up I will draw all men unto me...And the 2 nd time the angel spoke to Abraham is when God swore by his very self Gen. 22:15 saying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven...Thus the sower and his seed the very seed of God to whom the word ( his seed ) came it made them Gods and the scripture cannot be broken...Thats y they refered to the H.G. as the Promise the H.G. is the multiplication the regeneration of very God in humanity via the seed of Jesus the word...His breath...That New Covenant in his blood from Calvary...When he had taken the cup he says this is the New Covenant in my blood drink ye all of it.
.....But The Lord also says that i am the light of the world but the nite comes when no man can work...And the day of the Lord cannot come till there 1st come a great falling away and that man of sin be revealed which is mans carnal mind...Satan's seat is our carnal minds that is in war with the wheat the H.G...The kingdom of Heaven sufferes violence b/c of the Tares and the wheat...The dragon and the woman with Child.. Rev 12:5 kjv...But the woman with Child wins and is gonna rule all nations with his rod of iron the word of God that cannot be broken....That New Covenant...The book in the fathers right hand..k gbu
This is a good Bible trivia when my mom was back home from work isaw this on Google chrome so I got it because the one my mom downloaded is boring so I saw it and now I am now back on Bible trivia games with no music
It's interesting what is mentioned after: Genesis 22:19, Abraham dwelt in Beersheba, Sarah died in Kirijatharba Genesis 23:2, & Abraham came to mourn for Sarah.
Genesis 3:15. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and ( HER SEED;) it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise ( HIS HEEL.)
Genesis 22:18.
Genesis 49:10.
The Passover Lamb of God ( Exodus 12:1-28)
Leviticus teaches the way to God is by sacrifice. JESUS!
Leviticus 17:11. For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
In the book of Leviticus you see a portrait of Christ and his work on the cross. When studying it.
It does well to go back and forward to new testament and present Christ. Especially Hebrews, That picture will paint itself.
Hiya Marsha...Plz let me give ya this bit of information....When Moses was on the back side of the desert in Exodus 3:15....God tells Moses that his name was Abraham Issac and Jacob and my memorial to all Generations....And this was after that Abraham had already offered up his only son Issac and Moses knew this very well....But this speaks volumes of a Kingdom coming that wd be a Father Son and Grandson type of kingdom just like Abraham Issac and Jacob where the son wd be offered up resulting in the multiplication of that son that wd be as the stars of Heaven in multitude saving this whole world.
......I will multiply thy seed as the stars of Heaven in multitudes... Genesis 22:17....Thus an Israel of God fathered by a Trinity.
......If i be lifted up i will draw all men unto me....An Israel of God that cannot sin...Simply b/c they are born of God.
.....Thus Abraham Issac and Jacob are truly a picture of the Godhead as a Trinity....3 Distinct beings but the 1 singular FATHER of Israel....And they became as the sands of the seas in multitudes....Just like Jesus is gonna be multiplied as the stars of Heaven in multitudes....Thus the sower and his precious seed...The words of that New Covenant...The Book that he wrote with his own blood.
.......Marsha if you read Isaiah 11 :1 ....You will see Isaiah who lived approx. 200 yrs after Jesse David and Solomon had long Died....Is still using this Jesse, David and Solomon kingdom as a kingdom coming in the last days When God sets his hand a 2 nd time to recover the remnant of his ppl...In Isaiah 11:11 kjv....Isaiah was still using this Father Son and Granson language for a kingdom coming again the last day....That 2 nd coming ...God wd not let David the son build that great Temple....God wd only let Solomon the Granson build the temple....B/c Solomon is symbolic of the 3 rd person the H.G. THAT IS GONNA BUILD THE TEMPLE IN MANS HEARTS....A greater then Solomon is here Jesus said....I will give them a new heart and etc.
PRAYER FOR FINANCIAL HELP AND STABILITY - In Reply - 4 years ago
Dear God, your word says that you will supply all of John's needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus ( Philippians 4:19). I believe what you said. Your word does not return back void ( Isaiah 55:11), so if your word says it, you will do it.
God, if you care enough to know the number of hairs on our heads ( Luke 12:7), then you care for our finances too. So Lord, according to your word, give us our daily bread ( Matthew 6:11). Provide the financial resources to meet our earthly needs.
I thank you that the righteous are never forsaken, nor do their children beg for bread ( Psalm 37:25). You will not let us lack or go hungry. I thank you that every need is met and that there is no need among us ( Acts 4:34). You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides ( Genesis 22:14).
The prayers of a righteous man, availeth much. I ask in Jesus Name that You will provide for all of Johns needs throughout this crisis. Allow him to fellowship here until YOU return to Earth.
John, let your Church know you need to keep your phone. Target Stores have cheaper cell phones, which if you are a member of AARP, you get a discount with the service. Cricket which is of ATT, but is less expensive; why not Google them. Ask God for favor.
Another comment : Notice, Jesus was speaking to people who called themselves son's of Abraham, putting themselves as heirs to salvation. Genesis 22:18, Luke 16:14, in Luke 16:24-25, then Luke 16:27-31, there's many things Jesus is saying here. He's pointing out Salvation isn't sealed in birthright.
Nor those who think because they should be allowed in but live cruelly towards others: Matthew 25:31-46, Matthew 7,
He's also pointing to his own resurrection. Luke 16:31, & prophecying their denial of him even after that prophecy is fulfilled.
As I promised I would get back to you on your reply and questioning.
Let's start with the verses you gave as the promises that Israel forfeited over to the Church.
1. Genesis 12:1-3,
2. Genesis 12:7,
3. Genesis 13:14-17,
4. Genesis 15:5-7
5. Genesis 15:13-15,
6. Genesis 15:18-21,
7. Genesis 17:4-10,
8. Genesis 21:17-18
You stated, "Abraham and his seed pass to Jesus and His children. and you say according to
Galatians 3:16. Paul atributes these verses to Christ it is obvious that they are for Israel as well.
Let's look at Galatians 3:14-17.
If you notice in the link the promise/covenant was not a land covenant. Verses 2-8 you gave are all the land covenant.
Did you notice in Genesis 15:15-17. God told Abraham he would die before they would enter the land?
Look how Stephen put in Acts 7:4-5.
"and is is after God performed the covenant!!" So when will he inherit it? Hebrews11:8-10.
Now the 1st verse is a preview of both. The Promise his seed going to be given land. "Israel"
( and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. ) "Christ"
This is the only portion associated with Galatians 3:16.
Here is the covenant Paul is speaking of in Galatians.
( And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; AND THY SEED SHALL POSSESS THE GATE OF "HIS" ENEMIES;
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. )
Genesis 22:16-18.
The Gospel was preached even before there was a law to be broken.
Galatians 3:8.
" Important verse"
I removed "if it" because I believe it's in italics and shouldn't be there.
( Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet be confirmed, NO MAN DISANNULLETH, OR ADDETH THERETO.) Galatians 3:15.

Matthew 1:3-4
And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
Luke 3:33
Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of Juda,
Aram also known as Aramea, was a historical region including several Aramean kingdoms covering much of the present-day Syria, southeastern Turkey, and parts of Lebanon and Iraq
Aram, Ancient country, Middle East, southwestern Asia. It extended eastward from the Anti-Lebanon Mountains to beyond the Euphrates River.
So the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel's territory. Some time later, Ben-Hadad king of Aram mobilized his entire army and marched up and laid siege to Samaria.
Today it's part of Syria Jordan Israel Lebanon.
You'll have to Google ancient Bible Maps to see the areas described.
Thanks GiGi. I could only learn this from referring to the Hebrew text (& translation), where in Genesis 2:4 the Hebrew clearly shows "in the day that the LORD (YHWH) God (Elohim) made the earth and the heavens". And not being a Hebrew reader, I can only read it as given, that it is 'God Who is YHWH', Who has done all these things & now communing with man & woman.
Given that the Genesis writer is generally accepted as being Moses (written between 1450 & 1410 BC), where he would have been given special grace to relate these events that he personally had not experienced, it could be that God was already showing him that 'special' connection to His people Israel, yet future, was already set in Adam & Eve.
Yet, would all those living pre-Moses (i.e. pre- Exodus 3:13,14), even know that 'special' Name? Exodus 6:3, says that the 'Name YHWH was not known to the patriarchs'. And yet we know that they were aware of it, like Abraham ( Genesis 15:7; Genesis 22:14), Jacob ( Genesis 27:20) & others knew that Name. But did they only know OF that Name but did not know Him fully, the full depth of understanding of the Name, YHWH? This debate probably still goes on. But when the children of Israel were in slavery in Egypt for over 400 years, that Name which should have been remembered & faithfully passed on, was forgotten, hence their need for an urgent reminder by Moses.
And "why should the Israelites listen to Moses & trust God?" There were four tokens of identification of this 'forgotten' God: the one of His Name ( Exodus 3:14, I AM: I've read that it is the inner meaning of YHWH - I Am the One Who Is); the one of the rod/serpent ( Exodus 4:1-5); the one of the leprous hand ( Exodus 4:6-8); & the one of the river of blood ( Exodus 4:9). I guess that any one or all of these signs should have confirmed Moses' call without any dispute & revealed to the Israelites unequivocally Who the One was Who had heard their cries & come to save them.
There is a lot here in this portion of scripture, for one you will see there is two groups here, Us/The Church and Israel.
Take notice of what we are being grafted into! Is it Israel? No, Israel is a branch broken off because of unbelief.
You see the concept in John and Mathews. I am the vine true/genuine vine in John 15:1-12. and Mathews 7:13-23. opposed to Israel in Jeremiah 2:21.
Notice Romans 11:25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Again, salvation wasn't to come by the law where the Gentiles were foreigners, the law was to show the world they needed a savior that's what God promised Abraham.
Genesis 22:18.
SO, WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THE LAW?
Galatians 3:18-29.
This puts the verse you gave, " Galatians 3:29." in its proper perspective.
More References:
Romans 7:4-7.
Romans 7:8-13.
2 Corinthians 3:6-11.
You mentioned Romans 2:29. Let's look at it.
You should take it from Romans 2:11-29. to put it in its context.
Romans 2:11-16.
Notice Paul says, "FOR WHEN THE GENTILES, WHICH HAVE NOT THE LAW, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:" Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
Even before the law was given, we had light in the world that bared witness of right and wrong! (The law put a death sentence on us. Romans 7:8-10.)
Continuing.
Romans 2:17-24.
Context: vs 17. "Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,"
This portion of scripture seems to label you as a hypocrite and blasphemer when you put your trust in being able to keep the law.
Hebrews 10:38-39 reads, "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
BUT WE ARE NOT OF THEM WHO DRAW BACK UNTO PERDITION; BUT OF THEM THAT BELIEVE TO THE SAVING OF THE SOUL.
As for blind faith, the Lord never asks us for blind faith.
Faith is not a leap in the dark.
Faith rest on real knowledge, it is substance that we have faith in. "God's word!"
Faith originates from hearing the Word of God ( Romans 10:17
Hebrews 11:1reads "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
The word evidence is the Greek word "elegchos" which is a legal term meaning "evidence that is accepted for conviction.
I believe God wants a foundation under our beliefs, which is provided through supernatural signs.
True faith rests upon God's trustworthy character and His revealed Word, not on a lack of understanding or evidence.
Abraham was given covenant promises.
One of those promises is seen in
Genesis 22:18 "And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Abraham was given other verbal promises including a Davidic Kingdom and he was promised a Son from his own bowels. (Issac)
This miraculous birth was not by the will of Abraham but by knowledge of the verbal promise and Abraham believed.
We're also Children of promise. Galatians 4:28.
We can trust and rest on God's word.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that "WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM" should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:14-16.
Running out of space.
See part 2
See part 2.
You also stated;
We do not see ethnic Israel as any more special or preferred by God as any other people group.
Why did you feel the need to say that?
Gigi, Let's calm down and try to correctly hear one another.
I'm busy at the moment we will talk later.
Blessings.
Your quote;
Blessings.
Here's just a few notable verses.
Genesis 22:16-18.
Galatians 3:6-9.
Galatians 3:16-19.
John 3:16-18.
Acts 4:12.
Romans 10:9-11.
Ephesians 2:8-10.
Revelation 22:17.
I hope this helps.
God bless you.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2, By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3, For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
Part 8.
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
This is what Roman 9 is talking about.
See Part 9
Romans 9:4-11.
I realized I left out an important point.
We know "The seed of the woman" is Chris.
God bless.
See Part 9. God's Test - Genesis 22 continued.
Part 3
ABRAHAM.
Genesis 22:1-18.
See Part 4.

Part 2.
See Part 3.
Romans 4:19-25.
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:
He staggered not at the PROMISE of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
And being fully persuaded that, what he had PROMISED, he was able also to perform.
And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
NOW IT WAS NOT WRITTEN FOR HIS SAKE ALONE, that it was imputed to him;
BUT FOR US ALSO, TO WHOM IT SHALL BE IMPUTED, if we BELIEVE ON HIM THAT RAISED UP JESUS OUR LORD FROM THE DEAD;
Genesis 22:18.
God bless.
God judges Israel AD 70; final judgment promised later.
.......That was the great PROMISE.....
Thanks for your response.
Here's a few examples;
We're saved now.
God bless.
Psalms 105:8-11 Isaiah 42:6 Isaiah 49:8 Isaiah 49:6 Romans 15:8 Galatians 3:17 Hebrews 13:20 I could list many more. The word confirm does not mean make, it shows us the covenant already existed. Confirm means to strengthen, to be stronger.
God made a covenant with Abraham and Abraham said God would provide Himself a Lamb, Genesis 22:7-8, was Jesus this Lamb, Isaiah 53:7 John 1:29 Revelation 5:6. This covenant is with many, Zechariah 2:11 Isaiah 53:11 Matthew 20:28 Matthew 26:28 Romans 5:15,19.
Hebrews 9.
God bless,
RLW
That's a great question.
Understanding that is important. .
Taking Gods promises literally is also important.
More on this later.
God bless.
.....Thus the offering up of Christ is gonna result in an Israel of God the H.G.
It's interesting what is mentioned after: Genesis 22:19, Abraham dwelt in Beersheba, Sarah died in Kirijatharba Genesis 23:2, & Abraham came to mourn for Sarah.
Here is just a few of many.
Deuteronomy 18:15.
Psalms 22.
Isaiah 7:14.
Isaiah 9:6-7.
Micah 5:2.
Daniel 9:25-26.
Malachi 3:1.
I hope this helps.

......I will multiply thy seed as the stars of Heaven in multitudes...
I love you in Jesus, Streetpreacher
Notice also: John 3:12, Isaiah 55:9,
Hopefully these are also helpful
Part 1
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; AND THY SEED SHALL POSSESS THE GATE OF "HIS" ENEMIES;
The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram. And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.

Part 2.
Romans 11:10-32.
See verses 24-29 in Part 3.
