America is not more wicked than any other nation on earth. America does strive to allow people to self rule. There is separation of church and state. People are not stoned to death for adultery, or their heads cut off because they do not have freedom of speech or freedom of religion. In America one is not killed for being a Christian unless it is by a terrorist with doctrine from a foreign nation.

Y s I agree to get America does need to change, there much unrepentant because people all love gifts, and praise. When the praise really belongs to God Almighty thru Jesus Christ. Th

"Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah." YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH; but if the salt lose its saltiness, with what shall it be salted?" When the transgressors come to the full, and many Christians fail the grace and high calling of God in Christ; there's no more reason for keeping the world going.
  • Davida Roberts on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
I believe America is just as wicked today ... as it was back then in that time and I do believe we have the same God. and America had better change or suffer the same conquences as Sodom and gomorrah... That's what I think.

  • BSP on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
In this chapter God viewed the Israelites' sins as wicked as the nations of Sodom and Gomorrah. They had fallen so far, but Jehovah God was laying their sins bare and giving them a warning before he took action against them.

  • Kurt on Isaiah 1 - 9 years ago
My dark soul, full of sin, was struck down, burned as stubble in 1992. Since then the world has taught me to flee back to find Him and his Word. I simply cannot stay long in the world, full of lies, corruption, and false gods enticing. Sin is slavery and now my mission expands to visit a prison in Haiti. Amidst total darkness 3000 men crowd a facility designed to allow them to only stand. Kurt.

Ahoents Ernest, Can you give us scripture that tells us to "reason" with God? What I see in scripture is "believe" in and on Jesus Christ. But I would like to see scripture that gives what you say substance. thank you

Chapter 1:18 zEither as a individual or a nation ,God is willing to forgive our sins ,we are to turn from our ways of innitly, by overcoming the weights that can so easiy beset us ,so we are aware and know their is a warfare between good and evil going on in our members the mind one example ,that will be an on going battle, between the flesh and the spirit ,until the Lord comes back again.

Piggy back to the comment by LL regarding, Christians are protected, we must remember, scriptures also states in KJV the book of Matthew 5 verse 45, That ye may be children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and the good and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.

responds to ms. Dusty; do you think perhaps the message/lesson(s) we are meant to learn from the prophetic books are just as valid in the 21st century - repent while you still can, trust in the LORD for your salvation? That same message for "stubborn rebellious children" still resonates true? How's that sound to you?
  • Ms. Dusty Garrett on Isaiah 1 - 10 years ago
    1. What do we learn about the people of Judah by God's comparison of them to rebellious children.

    2. What might be some reasons a person would ignore God's chastening hand?

    3. What are three words would you use to describe Judah's worship of God?

    4. Why are the words "before mine eyes" so important in God's instruction to Judah?

Would love to know these answers! Thanks and God Bless!
