The Holy Spirit undertook your education. He first has to get all the "idols" out of our home. It's not talked about much ( Acts 19:19), but it's the Holy Spirit of God, who drives away the demonic and shelters the new birth of a believer.
God is so very loving towards us. He hears every pitiful little cry of our hearts. He did for me. All I knew was that Abba, my Father was always nearby. I was so needy. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Now, in my old age, I still need that constant exchange of love.
Nothing the world has to offer, can satisfy the thirsty soul. When you reach a certain age (in Christ), you stop looking backwards and look forward more and more. It's very freeing.

There are millions of people who lived and died before Jesus first came, and millions who have lived and died since who have never heard who Jesus is and what He offers. What happens to them? Everyone who is alive today and all who have lived in the past has the knowledge of good and evil thanks to the first Adam.
The white throne judgment many teach is only for the lost and unrighteous, my understanding is different. In Revelation 20:11-15 all the rest of the dead is judged, small and great and the books were open, and they were judged from the things written in the books, according to their works. In verse 15 it says this, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire". Along with other scriptures, my understanding is there were some names in the book of life.
God only knows, some scripture gives a clue, People under the law being judged by the law and those who do by nature the things contained in the law not under the law (judged from the things written in the books) Romans 2:12-15, and if the white throne judgment is for lost only, how do we understand these verses, Daniel 12:2Matthew 25:32-46John 5:28-29Acts 24:14-15.
I hope that a couple of the Scriptures I share here may be of help to those in this quandry of whether to continue with treatment or not. If they are believers, hopefully they will find special grace to bear up & wisdom to know how to proceed. Often, being fully cast upon the Lord for His healing & availing of medical help can go hand-in-hand. PRAY, read your Bible, memorize Scriptures, sing--cling to God in all His ways. He has also given scientists the knowledge to developed medication designed to treat mental illness. Nothing to be ashamed about doing that. It's like taking an aspirin for a headache or cough medicine for a cough. If you and your mother aren't taking meds or have quit taking meds, please seek out a doctor to treat you.

Thank you for that explanation brother Earl. I understand Luke 8:5-15 & can even understand your explanation of it. However, in the parable, Jesus uses the 'seed' as an illustration of God's Word being planted into various heart types. It's not used as God being planted/fallen by the wayside/etc. in their hearts. Even though the seed represents God's Word, if we interpret it as God being planted & therefore the Spirit being planted, then we corrupt the meaning & intent of that parable.
If we then allow that type of interpretation to continue, so many passages, such as Isaiah 41:8, "But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend", might just compel one to think of the "seed of Abraham" to mean 'God's Word/God/a multiplication of gods, instead of simply Abraham's progeny. Even in evangelism, the evangelist shares/scatters the seed over different hearts. He does not scatter God or the Holy Spirit - I believe there must be a distinction, or else the meaning becomes clouded or lost.
1 Peter 1:23: here again, the Word is that the believers were born again by incorruptible seed (God's Word) as opposed to the corruptible traditions that were first delivered by their fathers (v 18) that could not give a new birth. We might agree with that one but I would disagree with: "When we depart this body of flesh; Spirit ONLY remains, Spirit is GOD, we become (the image of) God." Our spirit never becomes God; our spirits are renewed by the Holy Spirit (born again) & we bear the Image of God, but whether on Earth or depart from it, our spirits don't become God. And this belief then impacts how you understand Psalm 82. As I've already given my understanding of this Psalm in this thread to Samuel, I won't repeat it, except to state that I disagree in toto with your understanding of it; i.e. it is not prophetical at all, rather a warning to the rulers & judges, to which Jesus also inferred in John 10:34.
First, above all else, the most important thing you can ever do is take Jesus as your savior. Are you a born-again Christian? God loves you. Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." He sent His only Son to die for you John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." But it's not enough to believe in your head. You must believe in your heart. Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Confess your sins to Jesus Christ, repent, and believe in your heart that he has saved you. He will give you a new heart and a new life in Him. Ezekiel 36:26 "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." "Thou shalt not kill", ( Exodus 20;13). which includes yourself. How can you ask for forgiveness if you're dead? The scriptures say, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind" ( 1 Corinthians 6:9, King James Version).
So, when he said "nor abusers of themselves with mankind", I would think that means those (humans) who hurt themselves, will not go to heaven.
However, the Lord says " So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" ( Isaiah 41:10).
When you read God's words He is always speaking to you.

This is what I was taught: that these islands are actually other continents bordered by water (seas or oceans). Presumably Gentile. No where near the Mideast regions.
The Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River, the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea are mentioned a number of times in both the Old and New Testaments. Each the the three bodies of water serves as geographical boundary markers in Numbers 34:1-12.

PRAY, read your Bible, memorize Scriptures, sing--cling to God in all His ways. He has also given scientists the knowledge to developed medication designed to treat mental illness. Nothing to be ashamed about doing that. It's like taking an aspirin for a headache or cough medicine for a cough. If you and your mother aren't taking meds or have quit taking meds, please seek out a doctor to treat you.

If we then allow that type of interpretation to continue, so many passages, such as Isaiah 41:8, "But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend", might just compel one to think of the "seed of Abraham" to mean 'God's Word/God/a multiplication of gods, instead of simply Abraham's progeny. Even in evangelism, the evangelist shares/scatters the seed over different hearts. He does not scatter God or the Holy Spirit - I believe there must be a distinction, or else the meaning becomes clouded or lost.
1 Peter 1:23: here again, the Word is that the believers were born again by incorruptible seed (God's Word) as opposed to the corruptible traditions that were first delivered by their fathers (v 18) that could not give a new birth. We might agree with that one but I would disagree with: "When we depart this body of flesh; Spirit ONLY remains, Spirit is GOD, we become (the image of) God." Our spirit never becomes God; our spirits are renewed by the Holy Spirit (born again) & we bear the Image of God, but whether on Earth or depart from it, our spirits don't become God. And this belief then impacts how you understand Psalm 82. As I've already given my understanding of this Psalm in this thread to Samuel, I won't repeat it, except to state that I disagree in toto with your understanding of it; i.e. it is not prophetical at all, rather a warning to the rulers & judges, to which Jesus also inferred in John 10:34.

Jesus came to save, to bless, to redeem, and to protect. The Holy Spirit is our great Comforter and Counselor and protector. As far as the other things you prayed for, John 16:23 "Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you."

Have you ever read Psalms 82?
1 - God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he Judgeth among the gods.
...
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
8 Arise, O God, Judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
And Isaiah 41:v.23 says : - 23 Shew the things that ARE TO COME hereafter, THAT WE MAY KNOW that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, ...
My heart aches with you at this time. I am so sorry that you have lost the love of your life.
God promises to comfort and help you, if you know Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior and he always keeps his promises.
*Nothing or no one can separate you from His love ( Romans 31:39).
He is the God of all comfort ( 2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
He heals the brokenhearted ( Psalm 147:3).
He promises to help you & uphold you by his mighty power ( Isaiah 41:10, 13).
His help is present & abundantly available and He will never leave nor abandon you ( Psalm 46:1; Hebrews 13:5-6).
He gives extra strength when we are weary ( Isaiah 40:26-31).
May you trust in Him and rely upon his promises.

So, when he said "nor abusers of themselves with mankind", I would think that means those (humans) who hurt themselves, will not go to heaven.
However, the Lord says " So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" ( Isaiah 41:10).
When you read God's words He is always speaking to you.
