Hello, I think what's important is to read what Jesus said and did about it. People accused Him of breaking the Sabbath, but He clarified that it's good to do good on the Sabbath. I think the original purpose was to not labor/work and to rest. That doesn't mean you stop talking, eating, using the bathroom, showering, or avoid basic responsibilities. If someone defines work as 100% of everything we do I would say such a definition would be a bit too broad and missing the original point of the Sabbath.

Hey there my name is yvonne given , and I have of late been trying to follow God's law, alot of it I do not understand. For example the sabbath the Sunday it says to do no works ect.... Dose this also mean to fast, not talk and not do well anything that brings pleasure to myself such as art or music? And can we pray to jesus but in or heads or with or mouths?, yesterday I just rested and did absolutely nothing as it says the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath.... I have so meany questions on God's laws and trying to understand them I feel I need like wise counsel but its hard to trust churches and ministrys because alot of them make Monay in christ name. I think it's misleading when we think of God as having a presence like us. In those verses you place Jesus sitting beside God and there you have the son sitting beside the Father. But I don't think that's what those verses is saying. Here's an example.

Psalms 16:8.I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Now do you vision God sitting down beside David ? are is David referring to him as the power in which he shall not be moved?

Here's another example of him being the power.

Luke 22:69. Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

The right hand/power is an attribute in which he performs within the God head. Here's some examples.

Exodus 15:6. Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

Isaiah 41:10. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Romans 8:34. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

This is just a few of many verses in which you see

He makes intercession from his right hand.

He makes us righteousness from his right hand.

His power is his right hand.

He judges from the right hand.

And as Isaiah 48:13 says along with the volume of the book

He created the world with his right hand.

So those verses proves He's God!! That why in Revelation 1:8 he's called the Almighty!!

Hello, I have been looking for a bible verse to inscribe on my hushand birthday gift, but honestly I am new to TRULY believing. I was born in Quebec/Canada, the french part, and I still have difficulty with my english speaking.

That's a great message & great Truths you shared, Anna. Our eyes need to be turned upward & not sideways or looking back. Our hope, our strength, & our deliverance lies only in the Lord of Glory. Man will fail us, Satan may buffet us, but God is our confidence & joy in all our circumstances because He is our Light, our Strength & the One we worship with all of our being. Looking anywhere else will assuredly bring on doubt & fear. Isaiah 40:31.

"The enemy is "like" a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour." Notice the Word of God says "like"; he has no teeth to devour God's children, but he does a good job keeping us in fear. The Word tells us "fear not!" Why? Because no darkness on the face of this whole earth can overcome a child of God! Why? Because God is with us! When everything looks like it will fall apart, hold on! When everyone seems to be against you, hold on! When those who should know you best are believing concocted lies of those who choose to be used of the enemy, HOLD ON!
