Isaiah 55:11 go forth out of my (God) mouth : I have thought I could use this verse to use His word to encourage others, but now I see it must come from Him not me . What say you ?

Hi Dan, thanks for your comments. Please know that my response is given in love with my only intention to glorify the Lord.

I understand what you are saying about not turning down service providers based on if they are believers or not, I certainly would not turn down bypass surgery or roof repair because the provider was not a believer; however, those services are quite different than "spiritual" or "mind" service providers. Heart surgery or roof repair is not doctrine or the word of God and has nothing to do with salvation or living a Godly life or solving behavioral (heart) problems ( Jeremiah 17:9, Mark 7:20-23).

When it comes to obeying the Lord and following His word, psychology just seems to be a secular (and ungodly) look at behavior. It is an attempt to explain why we do things and what the solution is without referring to God and His word. Psychology is an invention from worldly men who denied Jesus Christ (people like Freud, Wundt, Jung, Skinner, etc). Some psychologists even merge the word of God and secular theory which seems unbiblical to me (we are to be set apart from this world - John 15:19, Romans 12:1-3, 1 John 2:15-17).

I guess what I am really asking is - to put it how you were phrasing it - if someone was 'sick' (spiritually) why would they go to a secular physician (psychologist) and not a spiritual physician (Jesus)? We even have a behavioral manual (the Word). The bible seems to continually say that the Lord and His word are sufficient, exactly what we need and that we should avoid the wisdom of men ( 2 Timothy 2:15-16, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Peter 2:25, Hebrews 4:14-16, Isaiah 55:7-9). 1 Corinthians 2:11-16. When we become a Christian, we have the mind of Christ, which is spiritual - not worldly. Jesus is our counselor ( Isaiah 9:6) and he knows us ( John 2:25).

It seems that as a Christian we either believe that the word of God is sufficient for all spiritual problems or we don't.

BTW - this is not for me, it involves a family member.

    Hi Robin,

I would like to add to the truth of what Sacha has shared and take it from verse 10.

Isaiah 55:10-13. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that ( it may give SEED to the sower, and BREAD TO THE EATER:)

SO SHALL MY WORD BE THAT GOETH FORTH OUT OF MY MOUTH: IT SHALL NOT RETURN UNTO ME VOID, BUT IT SHALL ACCOMPLISH THAT WHICH I PLEASE, AND IT SHALL PROSPER IN THE THING WHERETO I SENT IT.

For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

INSTEAD OF THE THORN SHALL COME UP THE FIR TREE, and INSTEAD OF THE BRIER SHALL COME UP THE MYRTLE TREE: and it shall be to the LORD for a name,( FOR AN EVERLASTING SIGN THAT SHALL NOT BE CUT OFF. )

Here you have an prominence on the word of God, Salvation is a revelation of God and the word of God is like rain that comes down from heaven, We should bud in response to the word and the Holyspirit in the same way the Earth responds to rain.

God's WORD WILL PROSPER AND ACCOMPLISH THAT WHICH HE PLEASE!

Providing his word TRULY abides in us.

Remember the parable of the sower?

We also see the concept here in

1 Corinthians 3:6. I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

The bread reminds me of Jesus saying I am that bread which came down from heaven.

John 6:33. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

These passages is also why I believe Romans 6 references fruit barring rather than lost Salvation.

Hebrews 6:7-8 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

    Wonderful passage.

    God bless.

Hi Robin , if you have already read Genesis you will know that because of Adams sin in eating the apple ,God cursed the ground so that it brought forth all kinds of weeds that make growing crops very hard physical work . So in v13 God is saying that the old curse of weeds which is a reminder of our sinfullness ,shall be done away with . The earth will be healed the same as we will be . There will be no reminders of our sinfulness in the earth . I hope I've explained that ok for you . Isaiah is my favourite Old Testament book . It's full of treasure , enjoy .

  • Earl Bowman - In Reply - 4 years ago
Brother Adam, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

The Word says MOST will see DEATH, not HELL.

The WAGES of sin (unbelief) is DEATH, the sins of the flesh are COVERED by the DEATH of Christ.

The WAGES of go and sin no more (belief) are IMMORTALITY (never ending LIFE in Christ, I AM truth and life).

All that ARE NOT TRANSLATED (you are born again BY the word of God) into the Kingdom of God (messengers of Spirit, with never ending LIFE, never ending TRUTH) WILL be raised back into their bodies of FLESH and JUDGED.

Malachi 2:7 For the (kingdom) priest's lips shall keep knowledge, and they (kingdom priest)that seek the law at his (the WORD's) mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of host.

Isaiah 26:9 ....with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy JUDGEMENTS are in the EARTH, the inhabitants OF THE WORLD will LEARN RIGHTEOUSNESS.

His judgements are not NOW in the EARTH; he is calling out of this world those CHOSEN to be kings and priest in his kingdom to RULE and JUDGE the world.

After this happens and judgement comes, every knee will bow and every tongue will CONFESS HE IS LORD.

    Confession is made unto salvation.

Traditions of man limits God's plan.

God WILL NOT BE LIMITED, His WILL, WILL BE DONE.

I John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father SENT the SON (THE WORD) to be saviour of the world.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my WORD (the SON) be that goeth out of my (the Father's) mouth: it (my WORD, my SON) shall not return unto me VOID (incomplete or unfinished WORK), but it (my WORD, my SON) shall ACCOMPLISH that which I PLEASE, and it (my WORD, my SON) shall prosper in the thing whereto I SENT IT.

1 Corinthians 15:28 When ALL THINGS HAVE BEEN SUBDUED unto him, then shall the Son himself be subject to him who put ALL THINGS under him, that God (SPIRIT, LIFE, TRUTH) may be ALL IN ALL.

You can't RULE and REIGN with CHRIST if you don't BELIEVE Christ is going TO BE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD.

    Brother Mishael,

    Only God can judge.

I believe God can save anyone that he pleases.at anytime that he pleases, including someone that is a sinner and NOT a christian.

After all he is God, and he can show mercy on whomever he pleases.

    Romans 9:15

"For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

    Romans 9:18

"Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth."

We can look at the thief on the cross - that is now in paradise with Jesus - to really understand how God loves us.

    God Bless

Faith Just some things to help this person shift there thinking. There is no pit so deep that God is not deeper still. If you look at the world you can become depressed, if you look in a mirror you can become caught up in your looks or frailties or past failures if you turn your eyes upon Jesus the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His Glory and Grace. The past no one can change and the futures lies in either your belief in the world 5 senses or with Gods word walking by spiritual faith of Jesus Christ. In conclusion Phillipians 4:19 But my God shall[absolute tense] supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. In His Service

Only God can pass judgement regarding who goes to hell.

Only God can look into the Heart. God will weigh the heart of each person, and will see everything about our lives, and with all of this, God can make the best judgement call.

I hope and pray, that anyone contemplating suicide will pause..and pray.

Pray directly to God in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, he will guide you in times of need, and put your life into his hands, and He will Heal and Comfort YOU.

    God Bless.

One of the 10 commandments is "Thou shalt not Kill", dead people cannot ask forgiveness. There is people on this site that will try to go behind the Word of God and change it to fit their beliefs, but Gods Word will not change for me or anyone else. I will never understand why it is so hard for people to just take God and Jesus at their Word and believe it, instead of trying to add or take away! Man's opinions does not matter, we are begotten by the Word of God. This is to Faith's comment about suicide.
  • Adam - In Reply on Isaiah 55 - 4 years ago
My answer is 'maybe'. For sure someone will go to hell if they have rejected Jesus. And if a Jesus-follower commits suicide it's like slapping Jesus in the face and spitting on Him. He died for you and you're saying you don't care. He gave you the gift of life and you're saying you don't care and you assume you know better than Jesus. Some want to numb their pain and escape. If that is the reason for wanting to end things there are so many better alternatives. People in a valley are often blinded to how many opportunities and possibilities there are in life. Things can change and change quickly. It starts with your own thinking and your own habits. If you change you, you can change your perception of reality. God gave you a gift and we're not supposed to bury it but use it to glorify God and serve others. God bless.
  • SUICIDE THOUGHTS - In Reply on Isaiah 55 - 4 years ago
If you're not Christian, you will go to hell. There is no escape.

What you do as a Christian can cut off any plans the Lord had purposed for your life.

    Psalms 39:4

LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

    JEREMIAH 29:11-13

For I know the thoughts that I think TOWARD YOU, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an EXPECTED end.

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will HEARKEN unto you.

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Almost every trauma in our life, is temporary. If you will draw close to God again, ask Him to dim the memories that hurt so much. I did that, expecting nothing, but God did that for me. The pain is gone. Be brave and ask Him to dim what hurts.

If we commit suicide as Christians we stop the thoughts God had planned for us. Don't take your life. Give it to Jesus. Allow Him to give you a new purpose.

If you are bitterly lonely, get involved in life again. I find nursing homes a wonderful place to bring my joy to. I sit and read happy Psalms to people. After a few weeks, I ask them if they want to go with Jesus to their heavenly home. Some say yes. Some are already saved, but we pray for the Lords comfort. The Holy Spirit comes to do his work on their lives.

You go home feeling a little tired, but very blessed. Sometimes I buy greeting cards they can put by their bed.

God will heal your memories, but first you have to give them to Him. Forever.

Good morning brothers and sisters, as I place myself in a form of stillness and meditate on the word of GOD it gives a peace that surpasses the world's natural understanding for it can not comprehend it. We must be in the spiritual Realm to even tap in to the discernment to receive all that the Father has for us. Let's continue to walk by faith not by sight and trust GOD with all your heart for the things he is about to do now and in the future to come. Spend quiet time with HIM, HE will speak to your heart. Everyone have a blessed and prosperous week, I look forward to sharing more spiritual messages, and once again PLEASE GET VACCINATED protect yourselves and others, JESUS loves you all and so do I.

Hallelujah!!!!! I love you Lord! Honor to have your goft of discernment. I pray for more understanding. I want people to know Your word is life and life is your word. We follow your word consistently in the order we should then we will have balance. "Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is Lord"

Lighton Everything thing that man needs to be complete is written in the bible 2 Timothy 3:16+17, your not dealing with theology which is man's idea of how God works. The word is God saying behold what I have done through my son either we believe or not, as it says in Isaiah 55:8+9. God Bless

    Saints equal with God?

I am curious to know where you encountered this concept.

To be equal with God we must first judge God's value and merit.

One quick response is that the Jews sought to stone Jesus when they perceived His claim of equality with God, as in John 5:18.

    Also look at

I John 3:20 - God is greater than our hearts

Psalm 61:2 - God is higher than us

Psalm 89:27 - God will make Christ higher than the kings of the Earth

Ecclesiastes 5:8 - God is higher than the highest

    If you will know them by their fruits, let's look to our ways;

Isaiah 55:9 - God's ways are infinitely higher than ours

Job 15:6 - We are unclean

Isaiah 64:6 - NOTHING we do could measure up to God's righteousness

That is a very big and significant thing to say, to claim anyone as an equal with God.

As a comparison, there is one very heretical sect which believes we will judge God.

Clearly, just based upon the references I have listed, their claim is not the least bit credible.

Such statements cannot stand of their own merit nor of that of their speaker.

Equality with God or standing in judgment of God would be enormous claims requiring substance to back them up.

Big claims are either big truths or big falsehoods. Not everyone can determine the difference.

You may or may not be a great theologian or an academic authority.

Even such titles wouldn't be enough for a common joe like me.

Being that this is a Biblical site, answers of that magnitude carry credibility only when they are backed by Scriptural reference.

    Otherwise;

If I wanted to debate you, it would be difficult because I don't see here where your basis is or how to clarify a dissent.

If I wanted to agree with you, well, again, your basis is not shown, so I would be at some degree of loss in composing a reply.

On any subject, but especially such a profound claim, let authority be Sola Scriptura and let Scripture interpret Scripture.

    Hi Shaarei.

    Here's another you might like.

Isaiah 55:10-11. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

    DR MICHAEL HOARE,

( Leviticus 20:8-9) And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.

9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

If taken literally, it is a disturbing thought. The character of God in the OT is a soul taker, unlike NT Jesus, a dream-maker.

The next time you question God's workings, why He does these things to us, things that make no sense, refer to this:

( Isaiah 55:8) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. We can't comprehend the reason; we have faith.

May, CHRIST GRACE US with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

There are VARIETY OF EFFECTS, but the SAME GOD who works ALL THINGS in ALL PERSONS.

1 Corinthians 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which WOKETH ALL IN ALL.

    ALL THINGS originate from God.

1 Corinthians 11:12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man by the woman, but ALL THINGS OF GOD.

    God is operating ALL.

Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained (been given) an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose (save all mankind) of him who worketh ALL THINGS after the counsel of HIS WILL.

1 John 4:14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent (commissioned/commanded) the Son (the WORD) to be saviour of the world.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my WORD be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return into me void, but it (the WORD, CHRIST) shall accomplish that which I please, and it (CHRIST) shall prosper in the thing (salvation of the world) whereto I sent it.

He who fills ALL in ALL.....Father of ALL.....who is OVER ALL...THROUGH ALL....IN ALL

Ephesians 1:23 Which is his body (each of us), the FULLNESS OF HIM that filleth ALL in ALL.

Ephesians 4:6 One God and Father of ALL, who is above ALL, and through ALL and in you ALL.

I had the same thought in Isaiah 55:1- I was reminded in John 19:28 when Jesus says "I Thirst". Something on the inside of me said He is thirsting after Righteousness, thirsting after the living God, thirsting for the Living God but realizing He (God) is in Him(Jesus)..so He (Jesus) was missing that once was in Him

Why not all people come to salvation today

john 12:37-40 therefore they could not believe, because esaias (god's words on his tongue) saith .....

luke 22:67 art thou the christ? tell us. and he said (god's word's) unto them, if i tell you, ye will not believe.

these words came out of god's mouth and god said his words would not return unto him void.

    isaiah 55:11

philippians 1:9 for unto you it is given in the behalf of christ, not only to believe on him ....

no one can believe unless god's causes them to believe.

john 6:29 .....this is the work of god, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent....

2 thessalonians 2:11 and for this cause (unbelief) god shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

2 timothy 2:13 if we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

luke 3:13 ... exact no more than that which is appointed to you.

jeremiah 46:17 ....pharaoh king of egypt, is but a noise; he hath passed the time appointed.

psalms 102:20 to hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those appointed to death.

job 23 :14 for he performeth the thing that is appointed for me.....

1 peter 2:8 a stone of stumbling, a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient, whereunto they were also appointed.

there but by the grace of god, go i.

    Hi Bob,

You never answered my question from the last post.

Though you seem to have your own idea and don't think God can do anything He wants?

Again we use Scripture. It is truth. If you don't believe the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are ONE. You are just not believing Scripture.

Try not to think your earthly mind can understand the ways of the Lord. Isaiah 40:28, Isaiah 55:8-9.

    God Bless.
