May we be able to discern the mind of the LORD JESUS CHRIST as we go about our daily lives. Doors to be opened for us as it was for Peter and Cornelius. So much to do before I go into eternity or others to pass on without knowing the peace of GOD through the salvation of the LORD.

Let us increase our prayer time, our reading of the Bible, and witnessing to the lost.

Thank you brethren for your faithfulness on this forum. GOD to shine HIS wonderful face on all the saints. Let us pray faithfully and diligently for the "apple of GOD'S eye", the peace in Jerusalem as well as in other war torn areas. The saints in Armenia and the LORD'S mission fields.

Merry Christmas and have a blessed New Year every one. May the peace of GOD be upon you and your family.

    Isaiah 9:

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

    Kinsman Redeemer.

    Part 7.

Jesus, prior to his incarnation (Becoming human), has always been eternal and divine.

Yet, by impregnating a human woman by God's Spirit, He became a man.

His essence was still deity, remembering that essence is that inward part that cannot be seen, which is the internal makeup of His personage - who he was in reality.

Yet, He became fully man as well, having a human mother Mary; and as a human had the attributes of a man, remembering that attributes are the outward expression, the behaviors, actions and limitations of humanity, which included death.

    The Incarnation

Of all the mysteries of God the incarnation is perhaps the most mysterious.

The fact that Jesus Christ has always been the eternal Son of God, who "became begotten" - born of men.

One Scripture that shows both of these aspects, His divinity and his humanity is Isaiah 9:6-7, which states:

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."

This Old Testament prophecy points out that the Messiah to come, who in time is known as Jesus of Nazareth; He would be born as a child; yet He was a son - He is called The mighty God.

Jesus, during his incarnation was fully God and fully man; and here's the big surprise; Jesus is still fully God and fully man as he sits upon the throne of His Father awaiting His Own throne, remember what Revelation 5:3-4 concerns, that a "man" was "worthy" to "open the book," which is later identified as Jesus.

The grammar is present tense meaning that Jesus is still a man, while also fully God.

    Amen Brother Jesse.

Jesus is still asking that question today!

( Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?)

I believe we have to know who he is and what he did to exercise faith.

Flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto Peter, but the Father which is in heaven.

No man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

He would be the anointing of God!!

That's an huge difference from being the anointed one.

    He's "THE ANOINTING OF GOD"

Also, "The Son of the living God."

His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY.

Remember: Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of GOD- Romans 10:17. The Word is GOD, understand? Yes, the Word is the invisible GOD, self-executable. For example: The Word said: Isaiah 7:14 - Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a VIRGIN shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

The Word said(the Word is GOD): Isaiah 9:6-7:

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with Justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (By the way, GOD calleth those things which be not as though they were- Romans 4:17-understand? The Word is GOD, self-executing).

Have you never read Hebrews 11 ?

One shall be taken and one left.

Isaiah 9:5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this BATTLE shall be with BURNING and fuel of fire.

Isaiah 4:4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the SPIRIT of JUDGEMENT, and by the SPIRIT of BURNING.

You asked:How is Jesus and God one,and Jesus was sent by God?

Now,didn't you(and all like you)still understand or interpret this mystery?Does not the Word testify that He is GOD?Yes,He does. The Word is GOD,self-executing or self-executable,understand?The Word is from everlasting to everlasting, the Word has not beginning, neither ending. As you and all know,JESUS is the beginning and the ending

For clarifying the great and deep MYSTERY of GOD sent JESUS,and both the Father and the Son be One,hope that you and all understand meditating in what the Word Himself said by/through His prophet Isaiah around year750BC- Isaiah 9:6-7:

6For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given:and the government shall be upon His shoulder:and His NAME shall be called Wonderful,Counsellor,The MIGHTY GOD(Mat.28:18 and Rev.1:8,among biblical references),The everlasting Father,The Prince of Peace

7Of the increase of His government( Revelation 11:15-18)and peace there shall be no end, upon the Throne of David, and upon His KINGDOM,to order it,and to ESTABLISH IT with Judgment and with Justice from henceforth even for ever. The ZEAL of the LORD of hosts will perform this

Then, having passed around 750years after the Word have said prophetically the message above through His servant Isaiah,by the way,Isaiah is one of the 24 elders, the Word LITERALLY fulfilled His wonderful promise to send His Son,exactly in the END of the 4th Day and beginning of the 5th Day,actually in the TURN from the 4th to the 5th millennium after Adam,or 2000 years ago.THEN the Word was MADE FLESH,as said John Apostle- John 1:14-,and dwelt among us,(and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,)-JESUS WAS BORN-full of grace and truth

Heb.1:1-3->1GOD,who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,2-Has in these last days spoken unto us by His Son...3 Who being the brightness of His glory, the EXPRESS IMAGE OF THE PERSON OF GOD...

Revelation is very symbolic, but it is also the GOSPEL, the revealing of Jesus Christ.

Until the spirit causes you to SEE and UNDERSTAND that the Word of God is talking to the person reading it, and that person reading those words Is the most likely the SYMBOL your reading about, you will stay in darkness.

Revelation is addressing the church, but that church is not the RCC or the Baptist, of any other denomination church.

Your the CHURCH, and WE are riding the beast with the name WHORE written in our head.

We blaspheme HIS NAME every day by not believing what he SAYS.

You were BAPTISED by his resurrection INTO HIS NAME.

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no TEMPLE (church) therein, because the Lord God Almighty and the LAMB are the TEMPLE (CHURCH) thereof.

2 Corinthians 6:16 .....for ye are TEMPLE of the LIVING GOD ....

You and Christ BECAME ONE: BY HIS RESURRECTION.

A beast has NO KNOWLEDGE of God; we ride the beast, until: We are BORN AGAIN by the words (truth and knowledge) of God.

Revelation 17:16 And the ten horns (the power of God, given to you by the truth and knowledge of God)) that thou sawest on the beast, THESE (the NEW CREATION) shall HATE the WHORE, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall ear her flesh, and burn her with fire.

Hebrews 12:29 Our God is a consuming fire ..... you WERE made ONE with Christ .... you are in, and have become the lake of fire.

Hebrews 1:7 ...and maketh his ministers A FLAME of FIRE .....

The Word is from everlasting to everlasting, He has not begining nor ending. JESUS is the begining. The Word is GOD-John1:1-, The same was in the beginning -was in JESUS-with GOD- John 1:2. As said the angel of the Lord -John the Baptist - "No man hath seen GOD at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared Him". Isaiah 9:6 - Unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. JESUS said: I and my Father are One( John 10:30), and All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth- Matthew 28:18.

Who knows GOD? Who knows JESUS? Even JESUS Himself said: No man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him- Matthew 11:27. It's it.

Hello Rrscaccia. I think you have misread this portion. If I might write it as I understand this passage ( Romans 1:1-3):

"Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (Which he (i.e. God) had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) concerning his (i.e. God;s) Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh..."

So Paul is stating that even as he Paul was called by the Lord to be Jesus' apostle, the Gospel which Paul had to preach was of Jesus Christ, God's Son Whom God had "promised afore by His prophets..."). So where are these promises? You can look at Deuteronomy 18:18; Isaiah 9:6,7; Isaiah 53:1-12; Isaiah 61:1-3; Jeremiah 23:5 (yet a future fulfillment): these prophets all spoke of Jesus (though they didn't know Him by that Name but that One would be sent from God), Who would come from Heaven through the Davidic line, being called the Son of God by His Divine Birth.

    Hi David0921,

Isaiah 9:6 his name shall be called does not make him what the name is many Hebrew names have God in them. Jesus says He came in His Father's name.

John 1:1-4 What is the beginning that John is referencing here? Is this the beginning/creation or is this John's prologue of his gospel, the beginning of Jesus's ministry, as in Luke 1:2 or 1 John 1:1? The word of God was in Jesus for everything Jesus said was not His words but the Father's words who sent Him, John 4:16 John 12:49 John 14:24.

Jesus was the Tabernacle of God; God was manifested in Jesus, and this is the light that shined. The light that shined was eternal life 1 John 1:2. This life was given to the Son from the Father John 5:26 and we can have this gift through Jesus Christ our Lord Romans 6:23. Jesus proclaimed the Father, the Father was the Word which was proclaimed to the world, and the Word was God. In Revelation 19:13, Jesus's name is the Word of God.

John 10:30 John 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: As God and Jesus are one through Jesus we also can be one in unity and purpose.

John 14:9 The Father was in Jesus by God's Spirit everything Jesus did and said was from the Father. This is what Jesus is telling them in verse 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

I understand we differ, and this doctrine is deeply rooted, I do not want to offend anyone. I have studied the creation of it, and it was as much or more political than Scriptural, especially considering the number of lives that were taken because of it.

    God bless,

    Hi David0921

    Greetings in Christ JESUS

    You are right.

Again: Isaiah 9:6KJV - 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 you quoted was LITERALLY fulfilled around 2000 years ago because the Word is GOD, and literally materialized in flesh and blood. It's the Power, understand? GOD's Power, well, the Word is GOD, GOD the Father, self-executable, understand? Great mystery.

In fact, The Word is GOD, GOD the Father, the same was made flesh, and the NAME of GOD made flesh is JESUS, the EXPRESS IMAGE of the PERSON of GOD- Hebrews 1:3. Take a look. The Word-GOD the Father-and the Word made flesh-GOD the Son- are One, and without GOD the Son was not made any thing that was made, says the Word, GOD the Father.

The mystery above is very hard to discern and understand, but why? JESUS explains the why: Matthew 11:27- No man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, AND HE TO WHOMSOEVER THE SON WILL REVEAL HIM. (It's impossible to know the Person of GOD the Father, except if it be revealed by JESUS, as He said, otherwise is impossible to know GOD.

By the way, John the Baptist, the angel of the Lord, clearly said that "No man hath seen GOD at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him." It's it. Hallelujaaa!!!

John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

    Hi GiGi,

No, I do not mind. I understand the Trinity doctrine is deeply rooted, and I do not want to offend. But this doctrine was placed equal in value with there is only salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ. Without this doctrine one cannot be saved, please let me know if that is wrong.

My understanding, God cannot sin, and God cannot be tempted, Scripture is clear God sent His only begotten Son not Himself, John 3:16. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit without measure to do all the miracles, and the work Jesus was sent to do by the Father. John 8:29 John 12:44 John 14:24.

Jesus humbled Himself, Phil. 2:8 Jesus was made flesh for the suffering of death, Heb. 2:9. Jesus was tempted the same as we are, Heb. 4:15. Jesus was born under the law, Gal. 4:4. Jesus fulfilled the law that only flesh could do. If he was not able to sin He could not fulfill the law, it would be a farce, God could not fulfill a law He wrote for man, man had to fulfill it. Matt. 12:28 Luke 4:1 John 3:34

Everlasting in Isaiah 9:6 it is the Hebrew word ad that means perpetuity a bond or a contract without an end, forever. We both agree God is eternal no beginning or end, but the Son is begotten/brought into existence before anything not created. When that was? Scripture only covers from the beginning.

Isaiah 9:6 Some things have been debated some say it was about Hezekiah. I feel it is about Jesus, but it could be looked at, as part of it about His first coming and part of it when He sets up the kingdom on earth. The titles or names in this verse, and how we understand them.

"His name shall be called" Many Hebrew names have God in them but that does not change who they are and mean they are God. The name is a vehicle to express things of God, it is the power of the name. and we see this through scripture. God was manifested through His Son, 1 John 1:1-2. That was what Jesus was saying to Philip in John 14:8-11. Jesus said; "the works that I do in my Father's name."

    God bless,

    Hi Ronald,

I hope you don't mind if I add a comment.

People have shared much Scripture in this thread. I am one who believes that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Spirit is God. I believe each and all are fully God, but not three Gods. One in unity, three in persons, is what I believe. The Last Supper discourse in John is very informative on this.

But the Scripture I wish to share is Isaiah 9:6 where God is said to be an Everlasting Father (I understand that this prophecy is concerning Christ, but including this title shows that Christ is truly God in the oneness of the Godhead.

If God is called an Everlasting Father, then He is eternally a Father, therefore there would be an eternal Son or He would not be called Eternal Father. This title tells us that God did not become a Father at some point because He is said to be the Eternal Father. For this reason (and the many other verses speaking to Jesus' eternal divinity) I believe that the Son is also eternally a Son, and if eternal, then God because only God is eternal.

The concept of the Triunity of God is Scriptural. But it is an aspect of the Godhead that we in our finite, creaturely minds cannot ever comprehend. But we can believe it by faith in what is said in Scripture without having internal knowledge of how and what the Godhead is in His three Persons, but One Divine Being. It is easy for me to believe this, but others who have been taught differently will struggle with it more.

    An evening meditation.

"The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel." Isaiah 9:8 KJV

    Part 4.

EL-OLAM [el-oh-lahm]: "Everlasting God" ( Psalm 90:1-3) - God's nature is without beginning or end, free from all constraints of time, and He contains within Himself the very cause of time itself. "From everlasting to everlasting, You are God" ( Psalm 90:2).

EL-GIBHOR [el-ghee-bohr]: "Mighty God" ( Isaiah 9:6) - the name describing the Messiah, Christ Jesus, in this prophetic portion of Isaiah. As a powerful and mighty warrior, the Messiah, the Mighty God, will accomplish the destruction of God's enemies and rule with a rod of iron ( Revelation 19:15).

Those are just perhaps a few of the names of GOD.

Here's another article that might help.

Who is God? - The Fact

The fact of God's existence is so conspicuous, both through creation and through man's conscience, that the Bible calls the atheist a "fool" ( Psalm 14:1). Accordingly, the Bible never attempts to prove the existence of God; rather, it assumes His existence from the very beginning ( Genesis 1:1). What the Bible does is reveal the nature, character, and work of God.

Who is God? - The Definition

Thinking correctly about God is of utmost importance because a false idea about God is idolatry. In Psalm 50:21, God reproves the wicked man with this accusation: "You thought I was altogether like you." To start with, a good summary definition of God is "the Supreme Being; the Creator and Ruler of all that is; the Self-existent One who is perfect in power, goodness, and wisdom."

Who is God? - His Character

Here are some of God's characteristics as revealed in the Bible: God is just ( Acts 17:31), loving ( Ephesians 2:4-5), truthful ( John 14:6), and holy ( 1 John 1:5). God shows compassion ( 2 Corinthians 1:3), mercy ( Romans 9:15), and grace ( Romans 5:17). God judges sin ( Psalm 5:5) but also offers forgiveness ( Psalm 130:4).

    See Part 5.

    Thanks Brother Ronald.

I believe we are in agreement.

For some reason I thought you were saying the mystery was that salvation went out to the Gentiles and the Desciples wasn't commissioned to preach to them until Paul and Stephen.

Paul was born out of due time so he would be late in the commission.

I believe Christ came to gather the lost sheep of Israel as mentioned in Matthew 15:24.

I agree there was a lot to be fulfilled that was Prophesied in the old testament.

    Even his death was prophesied.

    Salvation to the heathen.

Even his deity was prophesied " Isaiah 9:6." so I don't hold the view as Gigi as this being the mystery mentioned in Ephesians 3:5-6.

I believe the Mystery goes further than just extending salvation to the Gentiles but that they would be Joint heirs and how it would be accomplished.

By way of the cross and by rebirth by the Holyspirit.

Even when he rose from the dead they asked when was he going to restore the kingdom.

Even when he appeared to them after he rose from the dead some didn't believe.

Not until they received the Holyspirit were they able to comprehend his work.

Being born of God's spirit and baptized into one body was not revealed to them neither could they comprehend it.

I believe this is what Jesus is saying in John 16:12-14.

Also John 14:26 gives an example of how the Holyspirit would reveal revelation to them that the natural mind couldn't comprehend.

    God bless.

OLD TESTAMENT CONFIRMATION OF THE COVENAN.

    Part 3.

COMPARING PREMILLENNIAL AND AMILLENNIAL VIEW POINTS.

    picking up from Psalms 89:27-37.

According to this psalm the covenant concerns David, his physical seed, and the relationship of his rule to the children of Israel. There is no indication that this kingdom extended to a spiritual entity such as the church nor that the throne in view is the throne of God in heaven rather than the throne of David on earth.

As mentioned previously; in Isaiah 9:6-7 it is stated again that the throne of David is in view:

Yhe throne of David is mentioned specifically and the promise indicates that the fulfillment will go on forever.

In Jeremiah 23:5-6 the reign of the king who is the son of David is described as coming to pass in a day when Judah and Israel shall be saved and dwell safely.

In the verses immediately following, this reign is linked with the regathering of the children of Israel and their occupation of their ancient lands. Jeremiah 23:7-8.

It is certainly extreme spiritualization to take the regathering of Israel as an equivalent of the outcalling of the church and the execution of "justice and righteousness in the land" as being a reference to the rule of Christ in heaven, as amillenarians would need to interpret the passage. This is another strong confirmation that the literal interpretation of the Davidic covenant was intended.

In Jeremiah 30:7-9 another reference is found to the reign of the seed of David and again it is in a context of Israel's future regathering which will be consummated following the great tribulation.

As in other passages, the fulfillment of the Davidic covenant is linked with the return of Israel to the land following their time of Jacob's trouble, as indicated in the preceding verses Jeremiah 30:10-12

Here it is stated that they will serve God and David their king.

    See Part 4.

By Scripture such as Isaiah 9:7 we know Christ is going to sit on David's Throne and set up an everlasting Kingdom to establish it with judgment and with justice "FROM HENCEFORTH" even for ever as noted.

    From henceforth?

This has to be from the time the kingdom starts. by the description given of the kingdom we must admit it hasn't happened yet.

    This places it future.

The kingdom consists of the Nation of Israel repenting and acknowledging Christ "who they rejected"

He will sit on David's throne IN JERUSALEM according to the promises and Covenants.

IN THE MEANTIME WHAT HAS BECOME OF THE NATION ISRAEL?

I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Romans 11:1

(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. Romans 11:8

I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. Romans11:11.

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Romans11:25.

How do we consider these verses CONCERNING NATION ISRAEL in Romans 11 and consider the promises and Covenants and the view into the future that Daniel gives us in Daniel 9:24-27?

    More to come.

    God bless.

    The Davidic Covenant.

The Davidic Covenant centers on several key promises that are made to David. First, God reaffirms the promise of the land that He made in the first two covenants with Israel (the Abrahamic and Mosaic Covenants). This promise is seen in 2 Samuel 7:10, "I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore." God then promises that David's son will succeed him as king of Israel and that this son (Solomon) would build the temple. This promise is seen in 2 Samuel 7:12-13, " I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for my Name."

But then the promise continues and expands: "I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever" (verse 13), and "Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever" (verse 16). What began as a promise that David's son Solomon would be blessed and build the temple turns into something different-the promise of an everlasting kingdom. Another Son of David would rule forever and build a lasting House. This is a reference to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, called the Son of David in Matthew 21:9.

The promise that David's "house," "kingdom," and "throne" will be established forever is significant because it shows that the Messiah will come from the lineage of David and that He will establish a kingdom from which He will reign. The covenant is summarized by the words "house," promising a dynasty in the lineage of David; "kingdom," referring to a people who are governed by a king; "throne," emphasizing the authority of the king's rule; and "forever," emphasizing the eternal and unconditional nature of this promise to David and Israel.

    Davidic Covenant; Jeremiah 23:5; 30:9; Isaiah 9:7; 11:1; Luke 1:32, 69; Acts 13:34; and Revelation 3:7.

The Child of PROMISE...Thats y he has to know us that the Child of Promise will be formed in you....When Jesus breathe on them he was multipling/regenerating himself in them via his seed the living word....Thats y he said blessed are them that follow me in the regeneration....When the son of man is revealed...You will also sit on thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel....Right here on this beautiful earth....When Isaiah saw the Kingdom coming in Isaiah 9:6...He said unto us a child is born unto us a son is given....Which are the babes and sucklings he speaks of...An Israel of God .Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in no wise there in...That was the great Promise when God Almighty swore by his very self.. Jesse,

The accounts of the transfiguration show us how Jesus did humble Himself to become one of us. The transfiguration revealed Jesus as He truly is, exalted, awesome, majestic, and glorious. What an amazing experience for the apostles who Jesus chose to reveal this to. This revelation stuck with these apostles the rest of their lives as being one of the most significant. Of course the resurrected Jesus was the most profound and miraculous event of all, but he appeared to the disciples as they had ordinarily had experienced Him, although He was able to appear and disappear at will.

The transfiguration did show the value of the Kingdom Jesus taught was at hand. The Kingdom is Jesus. It is not a government entity, but a relationship with the divine Son of God. John, in chapter 1, spoke of Jesus being the "light" that shines for all. So, it is interesting to note that in this Transfiguration that Jesus is the source of the light that shone out from Himself. Isaiah 9:2 says that "people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined." This is a messianic prophecy of the coming of Jesus, the Messiah, who bought in the Kingdom of the Messiah, which brings eternal life to those who believe on Him.

Isiah 9:15 the ancient and honorable he is the head and the prophet that speaketh lies he is the TAIL. Rev 12:4 and his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven and did cast them to the earth. The tail IS the antichrist. Daniel 8:10 and it (antichrist) waxed great even to the host of heaven and it cast down some of the host and of the stars(1/3) to the ground and stamped(held prisoner) on them. DAN8:11 yea he magnified himself even to the prince (probably arch angel)of the host. Rev 12: 1-5 is giving the bonafides of God's son (Jesus) and Satan's son the antichrist. Rev 12:3 Satan enters and Rev12: 4 says, and his tail drew the 1/3 part of the stars of heaven and did cast them to the earth. Isaiah 9:15 tells you this is the antichrist ( prophet that speaks lies). Daniel 8:10 is talking about the same thing as Rev 12:4. Verse 4b and verse 5 go back in time and tells how Satan tried to kill Jesus but fails and Jesus ascends. Rev12: 6 goes forward in time to the tribulation and Israel fleeing.Heres is what's important Satan sees what his son accomplished by himself and decides to invade heaven with his few fallen angels and is summarily kicked out. Rev 12:10 Satan is kicked out and can't come back to accuse the brethren. Rev 12: 12 this is the 3rd WOE Satan can't get back into heaven and he knows it and he knows he doesn't have much time left. I must stop I am out of time but next time I will tell you why the antichrist was more powerful in heaven than Satan. I am a born again fundamental BAPTIST! I am a researcher and not afraid of the truth. Preachers are myopic and afraid of being ostracized if they were to teach any of this. There are a handful of preachers who know things like this . PRAY ABOUT THIS AND ASK THE LORD IS THIS TRUE!!!!!

Hello Edward. That's a good question, but the answer to it becomes clear when we examine the Character & Names of Jesus.

What you read in Matthew 1:23 "...they shall call his name Emmanuel...", is taken from Isaiah 7:14, where God gives a prophetical word to wicked King Ahaz of Judah, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

Does this verse in Isaiah in conflict with Matthew 1:25, "And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS?" When we study the names or titles attributed to Jesus, such as Immanuel, we learn that there is significance in giving each of these names. For example, the prophecy in Isaiah 9:6, tells us, "unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Here is a whole list of names attributed to the coming Jesus & though they are descriptive of the Character & Work of this One from Glory, I don't believe that anyone ever used those names, even in the Greek, when speaking to Jesus.

Likewise, when the prophecy was given in Isaiah 7:14, it was about the Name that Jesus' Coming would bring, i.e. Immanuel, or in Hebrew, 'with us is God'. And of course, this ties in beautifully with Isaiah 9:6, that Jesus IS the Mighty God (i.e. He not only comes from God, but out of God's Being, wholly Divine, & in His incarnation, wholly Human).

And you could look up Jeremiah 23:5,6 & see two other Names by which Jesus is identified: the Righteous Branch & The LORD our Righteousness (in Heb. Yahweh Sid-qenu), i.e. God's Name attributed to His Son Jesus, the Christ.

So, Jesus is His Name (in Heb. Yehoshua, or Joshua): the LORD is Salvation, but He can have many Names attributed to Him, each one depicting Who He is, and Immanuel is just one Name given to Him.

    REVELATION IS SYMBOLIC

Revelation 16:21 And there fell upon man a great HAIL out of heaven, each stone about the weight of a talent (a talent weighs about 57 pounds): and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the HAIL; for the plague thereof was very great.

Since Revelation is symbolic, what is this a symbol of:

We have to go to the prophets:

Isaiah 28:2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one ....who is this MIGHTY and STRONG ONE? ..... it is JESUS, the WORD OF GOD ......which as a tempest of HAIL and a DESTROYING STORM ......the HAIL in Revelation is symbolic of the WORD OF GOD, and his words are going to DESTROY ALL DECEPTION FROM THE CARNAL MIND of his people.

Revelation 9:17 And I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat upon them, having breastplates of FIRE, and of JACINTH, and BRIMSTONE, and the heads of the horses were as heads of lions; and out of their mouths ISSUED FIRE and smoke and BRIMSTONE.

Revelation 9:18 And by these three were a THRID PART OF MAN KILLED, by the FIRE, and by the SMOKE, and by the BRIMSTONE, which issued out of their mouth.

This is symbolic, you can contain PHYSICAL fire and brimstone in ones mouth.

Isaiah 30:33 ...for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large; the pile thereof is FIRE and much wood; the BREATH OF THE LORD, like a stream of BRIMSTONE, doth kindle it.

Ezekiel 5:2 ...though shall burn a THIRD PART .....

Ezekiel 5:3 Thou shall take thereof a FEW ......

Ezekiel 5:4 .....and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire: for thereof (those destroyed in the fire) SHALL A FIRE COME FORTH ino all the house of Israel.

Zechariah 13:9 And I will bring the THIRD PART through the FIRE ......

Revelation 8:7 And the third part of the trees were burnt up .....

Isaiah 9:5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood, but this (battle) shall be with BURNING and fuel of fire.

Isaiah 9:19 .... people shall be the fuel of the fire

    Elizabeth,

For the believer, Jesus is our hope ( 1 Timothy 1:1), He is our peace ( Ephesians 2:14), He is the light of the world ( John 8:12), He is the good shepherd who gave His life for His sheep (All those who have surrendered their life to Him ( John 10:11), He is the head of the church ( Ephesians 1:22), He is the only one who sets us free from our sin ( John 8:36), He is our redeemer ( Job 19:25), He is the only atoning sacrifice for our sin ( 1 John 4:10), He is the Savior of those who receive Him ( Luke 2:11, John 1:12), He is the creator of all things ( Colossians 1:16-17, John 1:1-3), He is the word of God, and He is God ( John 1:1, Isaiah 9:6), He is our only way to salvation ( John 10:9, John 14:6).

There are many, many more descriptors in the Bible that tell us who Jesus is, but it would take many more posts to list them all.
