Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of heaven which was turned down in Matthew 12:31, forgiven in Luke 23:34 and turned down again in Acts 7:51. Paul was sent to the Gentiles, Rom 11:13, Acts 9:15, 1 Tim 2:7, 2 Tim 1:11. No one asked what must I do to be SAVED in Acts 2. That question is asked and answered in Acts 16:31. Acts 2 is a Jewish message to Jews expecting the return their Messiah.
Other people called Jesus by the titles that people like to claim Jesus referred to himself as. Jesus said his kingdom was not of this world because if it was then would his followers fight. I am inclined to believe him. When they came to take him by force to be their king he hid from them. They misunderstood his purpose and did not understand his speech as he said.
Um Michael what are you talking about? The angles didn 't just simply retrieve Jesus 's dead lifeless body. Christ spirit left his body when he died on the cross then that spirit went back into his body 3 days later. That is a resurrection... a once dead body brought back to life. He was seen walking and preaching and even eating in that body after he resurrected then I think 40 days layer he ascended into heaven. How is that like a parent getting their child 's dead body to bury at home? And btw Christ is king.
How Great is our Lord Jesus Christ.....Let us not put into nothing What Jesus Did on the Cross to Cleanse us from all our Sins.Love our neighbours just like ourselves, Share to others the Salvation we have in Christ Jesus...God Bless...
specially these last 25 30 years i see and feel the dryness in everything, there was a time when people were concerned and cared for others, But now i see the third floor partying while ground floor someone has expired. there was a time when the wife would mourn a husbands death for a year and more, but now you see her in someone else s arms within a month or two. there was a time when parents were cared till the last breath, but now they are sent to the old age home on the first sign of sickness is this is not the dry wood situation that Christ was talking about.
In earthly courts ignorance is no defence, but we see a high Priest slain his blood is defying all odds. In all the ignorance of the crucifiers the Lord is interceeding for them even if they did this through ignorance. There is no sin too strong for this special blood of the Lamb. Just receive him today stay blessed
Acts 2:1-6 is a preparation for the last days, and the things that will follow are found throughout the O.T. in many passages. The Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord are the subject matter of nearly two thirds of the O.T. Peter did not say THESE THINGS are the fulfillment of what Joel said, and that is whe he would have had to say if he were referring to the cloven tongues, the rushing wind, and the spoken languages as the fulfillment of Joel 2. As a matter of fact, the other tongues are a fulfillment of Isa 28:11-12 not Joel. Israel, here, is being given a second chance to get right after Christ 's prayer in Luke 23:34 . We are dealing with a renewed offer of the Kingdom and it is valid until the final rejection in Acts 7. All those things of Joel were postponed until the Church Age is over. The Spirit hasn 't yet been poured out on all flesh and those signs in the Sun and Moon are yet to take place. You are preaching another gospel in Acts 2 for today.
I believe this verse Luke 23:24 is incorrect. I believe that it should read: Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Many times we use the word "day " and even "today " not in a strictly literal 24-hour period of time sense, so I think it is beside the point to argue this my sense is that what Jesus meant by Today was immediately
The Sabbath day, according to both Exodus 20:8-11 and Genesis 2:1-3 is the seventh day of the week. The seventh day of the week is Saturday, the day that falls between the day Jesus was crucified Preparation day and when He resurrected the first day of the week according to Luke 23:54-24:1.
I would like to urge the seventh day believers to continue with that spirit because God will reward them since more churches have come the good thing they dont intefere with the Lords sabbath according to the law
Was the Messiah LYING to the prisoner on the cross next to him, "HE WASNT BAPTISED ".... And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom...... And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise Luke 23:39-43....Baptism is not what saves a person it is the GRACE OF GOD!! The baptism is an outward testimony of salvation, and Obedience, and also sincere Obedience to GOD requires us to observe all ten Commandments of GOD. That includes the 7th day Sabbath, despite the world view. AMEN!!!
Kaye God compares it like this I feel that the one on the bed is in the flesh and has sin but that person when in his spirit body didn 't committ sin. God knows us and we were with Him. God knows all and is a good Judge. He knows our hearts.
It is the Living Word, the Lord put to death for no reason. I think the people show how insane people are. So awful they watch innocent people die for them, He made the Way To Heaven. Believe in Him.
How do you compare someone who does not live a saved lifestyle and suddenly die but ask Jesus to forgive them on their death bed confess that Jesus is Lord become saved to the man on the cross beside Jesus whom ask Jesus to save him and Jesus did save him by telling him he would be with him Jesus in paradise
To understand Jesus as God on Earth praying to His Father in Heaven, we have to understand the eternal Father, eternal Son,and eternal Holy Spirit, and their eternal relationship as Trinity. Father God, Son God and Holy Spirit God, not three gods but one God existing as three co equal persons always working harmoniously together.Jesus taught us that he and his Father are one John 10 30 . Please also read John 5 19 27 . There is no problem with God the Son praying to God the Father.the eternal relationship was there before Jesus came on earth as a man. His prayers in the garden every night should be an example to us how much we should pray to God Father, through Jesus and full of the Spirit.
This was a moment of great faith by this man condemned to crucifixion with our Lord. It highlights the fact that anyone at anytime who BELIEVES and has FAITH in Jesus as the Christ...the Son of the Living God...is redeemable. That should be wonderful news to everyone. Blessed are those who believe!
The thief that said this to Jesus, was doing exactly what Romans 10 9 says! He acknowledged who Jesus was, and believed in his heart. He confessed With his mouth! The other thief refused to believe unless The Lord Took Himself off of the cross, and take them down with Him. ......... That would have been nice, wouldn 't it!?! But the thief that believed, Is is Paradise with The Lord, from that day forward! How wonderful that Would be!! Hallelujah!!
you know when someone do something wrong to me I wish that I would remember to say FATHER forgive them for thy know not what they do instead of saying something that I have no business saying, FATHER help me to be more like you.
l observed that Joseph and Mary as a customary manner preparing for the sabbath. Eventually had prepared for the Lords ' resurrection. Is what I find in Luke23 50 56
28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. 30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us and to the hills, Cover us. 31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? Why would anyone want to make the words of Christ be for anyone or any purpose other than what he spoke that they meant. When we all know more innocent children have died from abortion than at any time in the history of the world. Jesus knew this day would come and couldn 't die without warning the women of the world of what men would push them to do.
Jesus stated no one takes my life, I lay it down, and if I lay it down I will take it up again. Jesus never lost control, even when He was on the cross. When He decided to give up the ghost was when he died. If I am not mistaken, crucifixion was not instant death. That is seen when we look at the two thieves. Scripture stated none of His bones would be broken. He stayed alive long enough to make sure Mary was taken care of, save the thief next to him, quote scripture, etc. all before the sabbath was upon them. When he gave up the ghost, there was no reason for his legs to be broken. Jesus giving up the ghost signified his dominion over death, even while He was on the cross. The thieves lived longer, therefore, their bones were broken.
On verse 30 and 31 when He says then shall they begin to say on to mountains Fall on us and on hills Cover us He is simply refering to the great tribulation period where unsaved people will suffer the wrath of God then He continues to say if they do those things in green tree what shall be done in dry tree The green tree is the tribulation priod the dry tree is the huge pit of fire in hell where they will burn for ever and ever
Jesus said "don't weep for me weep for yourselves" because these women were crying, not as believers but because what they saw the condition Jesus was in, it saddened them. Jesus was refering to how much worse it would be for them in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. A slow miserable death that included starvation where some would actually eat there own children, that it would be better if they did not have any children at all or elsewhere He said better to be killed by the sword than starvation. He also referenced judgment day and the suffering they would endure then. Jesus endured great suffering because of these people who rebelled against Him but did not want His blood on their hands. They told the Romans that He claimed to be King of the Jews and that was in direct opposition to their King Caesar. They insisted the Romans condem Him under their law which they knew included the severe form of punishment learned and adopted from the barbarians, crucifition. They would have to endure more than He, so were to weep for themselves. Thank you.
