Hello Rodney. I can't think of a specific Scripture pertaining to a "deathbed salvation", though I'm sure there would have been instances in the ministry of the Apostles & the Churches where convicted souls would have confessed Jesus in their final moments.
I could suggest the thief on his cross who turned to Jesus & asked, "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom" ( Luke 23:42). Even though the thief's salvation was still under the Old Testament period (for Jesus had not died & arisen as yet), we do see both the thief's sorrow for his sins, belief that Jesus was the One from God, & Jesus' response that after this man's death, he would enter "paradise" (v43).
So, in this instance there is no evidence of works manifesting from faith, as death soon followed this sinner's plea. But to those of us who have been given more time on Earth, the faith given to us by Christ's Spirit, must bring forth evidence of its reality, if it's ever to be believed as from God ( James 2:26).
Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, is where you can find the reference. Luke 23: Matthew 27:38,44, Mark 15:27,28, Luke 23:32-43, one became a believer, & received into Paradise

Christ is talking to his disciples about his coming again to them and the tribulation that must occur first, they didn't understand and most today don't understand.
Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, this generation (those to whom he was speaking) shall not pass, till all the things BE FULFILLED.
Revelation explains this, if you take it as the Revelation of Jesus Christ, and not something in the future, the generation living at the time of Christ saw the wrath of God that was poured out on Christ and they saw Christ appearing the second time as the Holy Ghost.
We have been in the days of Noah since that great tribulation was poured out on Christ, and his coming the second time as the Holy Ghost.

I can say with complete confidence that the answer is yes, a murderer can be forgiven. Jesus says all manner of sin can be forgiven, and since murder is sin, it would be included in "all manner." The only sin that a person can never receive forgiveness for is when God sends His Spirit to testify to that person, showing them their sinful state, and their need to be redeemed, their need to surrender their life to Christ, if a person rejects that testimony, they will never be forgiven for that.
In Luke 23:34, when Jesus was on the cross, He said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." The fulfillment of that prophecy is from Psalm 22:18. But Jesus is saying Father forgive them for they don't know what they're doing. We know in Ephesians 6:12, Paul said that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against evil spiritual forces in the spirit realm. It is not people. It is Satan using people.
In John 15:18, Jesus said the world hated me so you know the world is going to hate you. And this prayer of Jesus "Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing" was actually answered in Acts Chapter 2, the very first sermon given by Peter after the coming of the Holy Spirit.
Peter said this Jesus (whom you crucified). He is talking to the very people that were there when Jesus was crucified. Were they forgiven? I would say yes because we are told that several thousand souls were saved. The Lord's prayer "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" was answered!
And on Pentecost the gospel was preached and they received the very one that they crucified as their Savior.

Based on this chapter Paul was in a trance. "Paradise" is mentioned 3X in the Bible. Jesus Christ said this particular word in Luke 23:43.
Then in Galatians 1:15-17 and Galatians 4:25 Paul went to Arabia where My. Sinai. Does that cross your mind it is just like Moses did. Paul must have seen God and gave Paul the revelation of The Gospel of Jesus Christ 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. That was a very different level of understanding (How Jesus died for our sins) VS what the 11 apostles are telling people who Jesus Christ whom the Jews crucified). That is why Pauls's epistles emphasized on trusting the blood as a propitiation as he wrote more about the grace, justification, wisdom, faith, sanctification, redemption, atonement, Charity, mysteries that God may have revealed to him. Although there are some Jewish people who can be saved today, but God loves Israel who knows already and will know the King of Heaven and earth Jesus Christ today and/or later. I want to thank you; this discussion has been a blessing. It has stretched me in my understanding and the realization of some answers to some questions the Holy Spirit may not show us, maybe it is to see if we show love to one another. In our discussion the spirit and the soul are the keys, what part of us are they? Are the spirit and soul the same? Sometimes, in scripture, they seem interchangeable but is the spirit or the soul immortal, that is the key to the answer.
Spirit in Hebrew the word ruach means breath, wind, spirit, and in Greek, the word pneuma also means wind, breath, spirit. Our spirit is our driving force, energy, and stamina, and is the conduit of communication to God through His Spirit. Soul in Hebrew the word nephesh means a soul, living being, life, self, person. The Greek word psuche means the soul, life, self, and a person's distinct identity.
In Gen. 2:7 God breathed into Adam's nose the breath of life and he became a living soul. Adam became a living soul he was not given a soul. The breath, spirit, given by God became life, a soul. Also, in Genesis 1 all living animals are soul's nephesh. The soul is a living being human or animal, the life in us, but it is also our identity, we are all different in looks and personality, all our feelings, our thoughts, emotions, all that makes us, us.
Does scripture say the spirit leaves this body? Ecclesiastes 12:7 Jesus in Luke 23:46 Stephen in Acts 7:59. Does scripture say the soul leaves this body? In the resurrection 1 Cor. 15:52-57 If our soul is immortal would we not already be a spiritual being? Does scripture support death as the separation of the soul from the body and the soul is immortal? Does that come from Socrates, Plato, and then Augustine's encouragement in the church, and over the years it is fixed?

Man has a spirit, but he is not "a spirit", for a spirit hath not flesh and bones".
In this life man has "flesh and blood", a "natural" (or psychical) body.
At death this spirit "returns to God Who gave it" ( Ps. 31:5. Eccles. 12:7. Luke 23:46. Acts 7:59).
In resurrection "God giveth it a body as it hath pleased Him" ( 1Cor. 15:38). This is no longer a "natural" (or psychical) body, but a "spiritual body" ( 1Cor. 15:44).

I wished to elaborate as I have previously on this subject. The scriptures indicate what Christ did; while his body was in the grave and His Spirit went to the lower parts of the earth. First off; since He created all things and His work was finished when He died on the cross; He was certainly NOT suffering in hell. (Sorry the point is too important not to shout). Those who would proclaim such things are in grievous error. The scriptures indicate that He said to the thief on the cross "Today you shall be with me in Paradise." ( Luke 23:43). However; 3 days later scriptures indicate that captivity was made captive ( Psalm 68:18 says it best; it also is stated in Ephesians 4:8 and a few other places). Thus; the bodies of some saints after the Resurrection came out of their graves ( Matthew 27:52-3) and the souls of men now all go to heaven who are saved; while those lost only go to the torment section of Sheol. ( 2 Cor. 5:6). The message therefore was a declaration of victory; to the Nephilim who were bound up already for their particular sin of fornication with women ( 2 Peter 2:4) as well as to the rest of those human souls in darkness. See also Psalm 16:10; Acts 2:27
This is somewhat similar to the message that will come out in the Tribulation. The Rapture may be hid to some; but the graves being opened up worldwide surely will NOT be able to be hidden. Clearly; by the sixth seal there will be no atheists. Thus; no Gospel message will be necessary to explain to the world that Jesus is Lord; but a declaration of the Kingdom about to appear on earth; and the judgments to come. In a way these events are characteristic of the end of each dispensation; when judgment is pronounced or at the very least the end of a given Kingdom or civilization when their transgressions come to the full ( Genesis 15:16).
Luke 23:46. " And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands ( God the Father is in heaven) I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."
if I understand you correctly: It have not being a rapture, and i belive it will not be like in
movie versions now a days. So everyone who is from Jesus' death now and until He returns is simply in the "waiting room" Paradise. And these will then appear on the last day. Luke 23:43 Afterwards we will always be with the Lord.

I used to have similar questions in the past, it's not easy, but we need to trust scripture, and as Suze had a great reply in that we should read the bible and use Jesus life and teachings as our perfect example, especially for what he did for us on the cross.

The lack of Baptism submersion, doesn't appear to be an unpardonable sin.

Psalms 56:11, that person may possibly be about to ask another gentle close friend in the Body of Christ to be the person submersing with people of close relation in there nearby or helping, while the Church leader prays or recites scripture. Here, the verb "said" records in the imperfect tense. An imperfect tense verb describes a continuous and repeated behavior or action.
In effect, JESUS CHRIST spoke these words many times regarding HIS FATHER's Forgiveness toward HIS crucifiers before HIS death on the cross.
Moreover, JESUS CHRIST spoke the verb "forgive" in the imperative mood. An imperative mood verb is a command which demands obedience.
BOTH GOD THE FATHER and GOD THE SON mutually agree perfectly with one another in all matters as CHRIST proclaimed in John 10:30: "I and MY FATHER are ONE."
As THEY are both ONE in Essence, so too are THEY both ONE in agreement, purpose, cooperation, and behavior. BOTH acts as unified One-ness in all matters.
BOTH GOD THE FATHER and GOD THE SON DIVINELY Designed, Purposed, and Willed this Forgiveness in eternity passed which is why JESUS CHRIST prayed these words from the cross and also which is why GOD THE FATHER willingly obeyed the imperative.
Acts 2:38 states to repent and be baptized for the remission of sins; and then you will be filled with the Holy Ghost. On the surface it may seem that not only is baptism required; but also it along with repentance is needed for forgiveness. Clearly; this is not the case as is seen from John the Baptist himself who told the Pharisees to repent BEFORE the baptism was given. At that time the Spirit did not dwell with us permanently after salvation after it did after Pentacost and the upper room experience.
This could be compared in a way to confessing with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord to be saved. ( Romans 10:9-10). Believing in the heart is a necessary condition; lest we simply have a mantra that is some intellectual acceptance of Christ as Lord; who He actually is to every person; whether or not they have been given a new heart post conversion or are still unregenerate.
The clear example is the thief at the cross. ( Luke 23:39-43). He didn't have time to be baptized; but clearly Christ was going to be with him in paradise. Therefore; baptism is as an outer confession; it demonstrates our public affirmation of becoming part of the Body and Christ and symbolizes in some ways the death; burial and resurrection in our own lives mirroring that of Christ; our head. It is clearly a command; hence it should be done ASAP after conversion. One could say that if a person does NOT seek to be baptized and goes on a long time without it it is likely there is no evidence that they have truly repented. If we love Him; we obey His commands. ( John 14:15). Obviously we should test ourselves to see if we are in the faith ( 2 Cor. 13:5-6); or as a Pastor see if there are any fruits indicating true repentance ( Matthew 3:8; etal). Matthew 5:19 shows if we break the least of the commandments and teach others to do so we shall be least in the Kingdom of Heaven. That should be a sobering warning of losing rewards for disobedience for elders and laypersons alike

The plague (the ninth) of darkness in Egypt ( Ex. 10:21) is "described as darkness "which may be felt." It covered "all the" "land of Egypt," so that "they saw not one another." I could suggest the thief on his cross who turned to Jesus & asked, "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom" ( Luke 23:42). Even though the thief's salvation was still under the Old Testament period (for Jesus had not died & arisen as yet), we do see both the thief's sorrow for his sins, belief that Jesus was the One from God, & Jesus' response that after this man's death, he would enter "paradise" (v43).
So, in this instance there is no evidence of works manifesting from faith, as death soon followed this sinner's plea. But to those of us who have been given more time on Earth, the faith given to us by Christ's Spirit, must bring forth evidence of its reality, if it's ever to be believed as from God ( James 2:26).

I can say with complete confidence that the answer is yes, a murderer can be forgiven. Jesus says all manner of sin can be forgiven, and since murder is sin, it would be included in "all manner." The only sin that a person can never receive forgiveness for is when God sends His Spirit to testify to that person, showing them their sinful state, and their need to be redeemed, their need to surrender their life to Christ, if a person rejects that testimony, they will never be forgiven for that.
In Luke 23:34, when Jesus was on the cross, He said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." The fulfillment of that prophecy is from Psalm 22:18. But Jesus is saying Father forgive them for they don't know what they're doing. We know in Ephesians 6:12, Paul said that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against evil spiritual forces in the spirit realm. It is not people. It is Satan using people.
In John 15:18, Jesus said the world hated me so you know the world is going to hate you. And this prayer of Jesus "Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing" was actually answered in Acts Chapter 2, the very first sermon given by Peter after the coming of the Holy Spirit.
Peter said this Jesus (whom you crucified). He is talking to the very people that were there when Jesus was crucified. Were they forgiven? I would say yes because we are told that several thousand souls were saved. The Lord's prayer "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" was answered!
And on Pentecost the gospel was preached and they received the very one that they crucified as their Savior.

In our discussion the spirit and the soul are the keys, what part of us are they? Are the spirit and soul the same? Sometimes, in scripture, they seem interchangeable but is the spirit or the soul immortal, that is the key to the answer.
Spirit in Hebrew the word ruach means breath, wind, spirit, and in Greek, the word pneuma also means wind, breath, spirit. Our spirit is our driving force, energy, and stamina, and is the conduit of communication to God through His Spirit. Soul in Hebrew the word nephesh means a soul, living being, life, self, person. The Greek word psuche means the soul, life, self, and a person's distinct identity.
In Gen. 2:7 God breathed into Adam's nose the breath of life and he became a living soul. Adam became a living soul he was not given a soul. The breath, spirit, given by God became life, a soul. Also, in Genesis 1 all living animals are soul's nephesh. The soul is a living being human or animal, the life in us, but it is also our identity, we are all different in looks and personality, all our feelings, our thoughts, emotions, all that makes us, us.
Does scripture say the spirit leaves this body? Ecclesiastes 12:7 Jesus in Luke 23:46 Stephen in Acts 7:59. Does scripture say the soul leaves this body? In the resurrection 1 Cor. 15:52-57 If our soul is immortal would we not already be a spiritual being? Does scripture support death as the separation of the soul from the body and the soul is immortal? Does that come from Socrates, Plato, and then Augustine's encouragement in the church, and over the years it is fixed?

This is somewhat similar to the message that will come out in the Tribulation. The Rapture may be hid to some; but the graves being opened up worldwide surely will NOT be able to be hidden. Clearly; by the sixth seal there will be no atheists. Thus; no Gospel message will be necessary to explain to the world that Jesus is Lord; but a declaration of the Kingdom about to appear on earth; and the judgments to come. In a way these events are characteristic of the end of each dispensation; when judgment is pronounced or at the very least the end of a given Kingdom or civilization when their transgressions come to the full ( Genesis 15:16).
if I understand you correctly: It have not being a rapture, and i belive it will not be like in
movie versions now a days. So everyone who is from Jesus' death now and until He returns is simply in the "waiting room" Paradise. And these will then appear on the last day. Luke 23:43 Afterwards we will always be with the Lord.

I used to have similar questions in the past, it's not easy, but we need to trust scripture, and as Suze had a great reply in that we should read the bible and use Jesus life and teachings as our perfect example, especially for what he did for us on the cross.

Here, the verb "said" records in the imperfect tense. An imperfect tense verb describes a continuous and repeated behavior or action.

Moreover, JESUS CHRIST spoke the verb "forgive" in the imperative mood. An imperative mood verb is a command which demands obedience.

This could be compared in a way to confessing with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord to be saved. ( Romans 10:9-10). Believing in the heart is a necessary condition; lest we simply have a mantra that is some intellectual acceptance of Christ as Lord; who He actually is to every person; whether or not they have been given a new heart post conversion or are still unregenerate.
The clear example is the thief at the cross. ( Luke 23:39-43). He didn't have time to be baptized; but clearly Christ was going to be with him in paradise. Therefore; baptism is as an outer confession; it demonstrates our public affirmation of becoming part of the Body and Christ and symbolizes in some ways the death; burial and resurrection in our own lives mirroring that of Christ; our head. It is clearly a command; hence it should be done ASAP after conversion. One could say that if a person does NOT seek to be baptized and goes on a long time without it it is likely there is no evidence that they have truly repented. If we love Him; we obey His commands. ( John 14:15). Obviously we should test ourselves to see if we are in the faith ( 2 Cor. 13:5-6); or as a Pastor see if there are any fruits indicating true repentance ( Matthew 3:8; etal). Matthew 5:19 shows if we break the least of the commandments and teach others to do so we shall be least in the Kingdom of Heaven. That should be a sobering warning of losing rewards for disobedience for elders and laypersons alike
