In this passage ( Matthew 15:22-28), a Canaanitish woman approached Jesus about her demon afflicted daughter. However, since she was not from the "house of Israel", Jesus focused his ministry only to the Jews. It might appear harsh that He appeared to reject her pleas, but Jesus never erred in what He said or did, but that this situation might have a larger blessing. He reminded her (& she knew this), that the "bread (blessings) meant for the children (Israel) were not meant to be given to dogs (a term often used by the Jews for the gentile nations).

So, in spite of Jesus telling the woman that his ministry was only to Israel, He waited to hear her response. She was so overcome with her daughter's condition, that she continue to press Him to act in spite of her being a gentile woman. She said that she would willingly accept whatever Jesus could offer to her (as the crumbs of bread that fall off the (Jews) table). Such was her persistence - such was her faith - and Jesus noticed this & accordingly from that very hour, the woman's daughter was released from the demonic activity. I believe that Jesus already knew what He would do for that woman - He wanted to bring her to the point of an active persistent faith. She could have just accepted Jesus' initial refusal to help her because she was a gentile & gone away sad. But real faith demands an active pursuit, that something not only can happen but will happen. She was blessed by having & using that faith.

What does this mean - but even the dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their master's table" ( Matthew 15:24, 27).

With great swelling words you speak about 'love' but the latest comments you posted just confirmed that your comments were based on religious and man-made doctrines ( Matthew 15:9) and that you have not the love of God in you ( John 5:42). I think the Lord is saying during these times is to work and fear not for he will be with you, as in chapter 2:4-5. The Lord is calling his people to be holy, 2:13-14 Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these , shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. (I believe he is speaking of fornications) Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, says the Lord; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean. No matter how much a person goes to church if they do not get their hearts right, that which they offer there will be unclean. In Matthew 15:19 For out of the HEART proceed EVIL thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. ***( Jesus said these are evil thoughts)*** Jesus said in Matthew 15:17-18 Do you not yet understand, that what so ever entered in at the mouth, goes into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? The Word of God is God ( John 1:1) and is not of any private interpretation ( 2 Peter 1:20).

The recent interpretation of 'the hedge around Job' is a good example. While the word of God clearly explains its true meaning, the interpretation was self-serving and totally misleading.

MATTHEW 18:19,20

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

It is clear as the people in California have been praying for the fires to cease, that their prayers are not answered and are all in vain ( Matthew 15:9). Unless you are blind it is obvious that they have not been asking for anything in His name - Jesus Christ, as they worship and serve an image of a false god and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Gal. 4:8; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; Rev. 12:9).

Our message therefore remains the same: Ye must repent.

It is the narrow way that leadeth unto 'Life' and you will not find it through religious and man-made doctrines ( Matthew 15:9).

While people are still trying to 'Justify' the Scriptures to make them 'fit' their lifestyles, this Scripture is as plain as the nose on their faces. It said, men shall NOT wear womens' garments and women shall not wear that which pertaineth to a man (shall NOT wear mens' clothing). Whosoever does this, is an Abomination to the Lord thy God.

If you are 'straight' and are doing this, it is 'wrong', an Abomination. If you are 'gay' in any way, that is 'doublely wrong' on you, mainly because 1- You being a homosexual, committing the act of homosexuality, is an Abomination to the Lord thy God- Lev. 18:22 & Rom. 1:27, and 2- you are wearing the opposite gender's clothing, and some of you have actually changed your genders, just to be able to wear them, is an Abomination. Men shouldn't wear long hair nor women to have bald heads as fashion statements either. We all know that we were and still are being taught by pastors who 'skirt' around the Truth. If they tell you they have read the 'whole' Bible, then they have all read this Scripture, and still, they don't address neither one of these Scriptures to anyone, inside or outside the Church. The preachers should never be ashamed or scared to preach the Word of Truth. Yes, the Word is to help those who need it. Everyone needs Spiritual help and guidance, through the Word and with prayer. The Word is also Truth, so it will step on some peoples' toes, and the Truth hurts, but still, preach the Truth. This is not something that preachers should be 'beating -around-the-bush' about with anyone. If preachers aren't preaching the Truth, then the are preaching Lies. If people can't get the truth from preachers, in order for their lives to be saved, delivered, changed and accepted by the Heavenly Father, and no longer be called an Abomination by Him, they will be lost. It's already like that now-people are lost, but I'm going to, "Let them alone...the blind leading the blind, and they all fall into the ditch." Matthew 15:14 KJV.

Jesus didn't insult her. He told her the truth. She then accepted the truth, and showed that she still believed that he could and would save her child. He recognized her faith, and granted her request. However, the truth still remains.

Jesus came to preach & teach to the Jews first. It's a prophesy. Read verses in your center of the page reference columns.

The disciples were told to wait in the upper room for Pentecost: to receive the Holy Spirit and power.

The Gentiles had to wait until Apostle Paul got saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and told his ministry would be to the Gentiles.

You would've seen that the prophesy said Jesus would be sent to the Jews first.

Why? Because the Jews and Romans were going to crucify Jesus; just like John the Baptist was killed.

Matthew 15:26 made me ask, why does it appear that Jesus is snubbing this woman (trying to get rid of her/ speaking a racial slur/ telling her- you know what my kind thinks of your kind ) Could we be seeing that Jesus is "fully human"? We know He sometimes was annoyed and irritated with His disciples. He preaches "meek and mild", but in this case he comes across as "mean and wild". I always need to reflect on the whole counsel of scripture which is so "crystal clear". Jesus models giving up your rights for others and being a safe place for others who come into your space. Over and over again He tells us that He came to bring all into the community of the redeemed, that He wants none to be lost, and that if we want to be great in His Kingdom we should be the least (so others can be lifted up). He tells us to be done with unequal relationships. How clear His message- both Jews and Gentiles need grace. How clear that HE is all about bringing all people together and putting them on the same plain . His WORD is the ultimate anti discrimination message. His life, the "Divine Reversal" of racism.

John L - I believe that is true that all who are in Christ ARE the seed of Abraham as Paul states in Galations 3:29

Galatians 3:29 "And if ye be Christ's, then ARE are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

I do not see anything about "becoming" or "spiritual seed"

and if Christians are divorced Israel of Jeremiah 3:8 that means they shall be the object of the wrath of Satan in the Tribulation.

Jeremiah 3:8 "And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of DIVORCE divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also."

God divorced Israel with the promise of remarriage

God promised Abraham he would be the Father of MANY NATIONS.

If the "Jews" are all of Abraham, where are all these MANY "jewish nations"...?

The thief didn't require water baptism to be saved, had he lived and come in contact with disciples he'd have heard same commandment, his action would have been same as Eunich.

Part 3) Peter is saying that it's an unlawful thing, according to the "Rabbi's Rules," for a man that is a Jew, to keep company, or to come into one of another nation; anybody that's not a Jew, but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean. It's the same thing God showed him about the animals. Now Peter is putting two and two together, because he didn't understand the vision that was given to him.

The section I mentioned, Acts 10:9-16, is referring to animals. It's clear to me that Matthew 15:11 is saying it's not what a person eats that defiles that person. And yes, it's what comes out of the mouth, the evil words that come from a man's heart. That's what defiles the man, not what he eats.

Jesse Christ was not talking about the food, rather the men who ate the unclean food as in this scriture.

Acts 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any MAN man common or unclean.

avoiding unclean food is a health thing, not a salvation issue. You would not believe how many diseases pork can transmit to mankind. The diet laws are actually scientifically sound advice and the creator knew what he was doing.

Matthew 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

I quite agree. Christianity is to the World, just another religion, when in fact they should see it as a people changed and enjoying an abundant life: lives living beyond the carnal grips & deceptions of the world. We send out missionaries, who do a mighty work, we give our prayer & financial support to them, but at home our lives rarely demonstrate the finished work at the Cross. We stay mute when unborn babies are murdered, when homosexuality is given free rein, when convicted murderers & rapists are freed to repeat their wicked acts on innocents, & when lies & carnality become truth & purity. Many of the apostles died horrible deaths for the Gospel's sake AND for their stand against evil.
