When you discover the authority and power that Jesus christ has i.e the commander in chief of the heavenly government and the earths,then you do not need to go to anyone for your deliverence,you only need to send your faith like the centurion man.ie them that know their God shall do exploits in the mighty name of Jesus.
Men have their homes in their thoughts, beliefs, and opinions. Men pretend to know, and pretend they don’t pretend.. But The Sons of God have surrendered their home for the One which is everything and is everywhere, is the source of all, the end of all, the true Home.
@Insight777,
Are you stating that the son of God mean evil? "That is what is meant when “the son of man (the opposite of the son of God = the evil one) has no place to lay his head." Are your parenthesis in the wrong spot? Matthew 25 Christ is called the son of man. Luke 1:35 refers to Mary being visited by the spirit and her son being the Son of God.
Since John 17:3, Philippians 3:8-10, Matthew 7:21-23, verse 9 covered by a thick cloud, Jeremiah 29:13 that the people might hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever. John 6:17-8; 8:12. Jesus marveled in Matthew 8:10. Is there a greater marvel elsewhere? Is the only disease (BELEVING A LIE) caused by either Deception, or Pride. 1 Corinthians 4:7 there is only One God Who cannot lie, Hebrews 13:8. Who says there are no absolutes? The statement is an absolute, humble unselfish FATHER already knows everything, and is the answer, yet humanity is so wrapped up in their shallow little plans they miss the mark. His Glory Revelation 4:11, Galatians 2:20-21, Genesis 15:1, Philippians 3:12 Came here to understand this veiled verse 19:13 but got sidetracked. Sound unfamiliar 2 Corinthians 3:18, Ephesians 4:13.
Jesus is the Son of God and not the Son of man. Verse 19 is a scripture among many in the Bible that proves this. The Son of man needs to repent. Jesus is sinless and God is his Father, so Jesus has no need to repent. Matthew 8:20 explains that God made resting places for everything on earth except the Son of man. The Son of man is EVIL. The Son of man has been compared to a thief in scripture. Jesus is not a thief. Matthew 24:37-39 - the coming of the Son of Man will be like the days of Noah. Knowing that Jesus died on the cross because he refused to be called the Son of man and said he was the Son of God, then the reference to Noah must be that the Son of man is like the flood (Satan) that destroys mankind.
I still don't know what this means, break it down in a simple term. Does this mean Jesus doesn't have a place to live, so he must keep on the road preaching the gospel? He has his place to rest in heaven, right?
Jesus praises the centurion that loves and respects him and is willing to become a follower and Christian. In verse 18, Jews and Romans were gathering their sick and afflicted in a large group and asking Jesus to heal them without first wanting to believe in Jesus as the Son of God and convert to Christianity. They wanted Jesus to use his power to heal yet they did not want first to stop worshiping their own gods. That is what is meant when “the son of man (the opposite of the son of God = the evil one) has no place to lay his head. They cannot rest in the peaceful healing protection of God because they reject Jesus as the son of God. The thoughts in their head were to use Jesus as a healer of bodily ailments while rejecting his ability to heal their spiritual life. Jesus did not want to heal people that refused to stop worshipping false gods and refused to stop believing in false doctrine so he wanted to leave the area. Son of God affirms the divinity of Jesus and Jesus died on the cross because he refused to be called the son of man.
@Jan,
About verse 18- when Jesus states that upon this rock I will build my church. Jesus is making a direct reference to himself as the rock using 3rd person singular. Christ is the head of the church Ephesians 5:23, I Corinthians 10:4. That's why the church is also called the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:12-16. As for Peter being the 1st Pope or holy father, Matthew 23:9 states to call no man on earth your (spiritual) farther, for one is your (spiritual) father in heaven. That church is building on the rock of Peter is in serious trouble when Jesus states 4 verses later that Peter is become like Satan momentarily (verse 23) and Peter is married. Matthew 8:14 which makes me ask the question why priests, bishops, cardinals and popes do not marry? I Timothy 3:2 states that a bishop (Pastor, Deacon) to be the husband of one wife which is where one would find the criteria of a bishop, deacon.
The gift of healing was given as a sign to the Jews directly ( I Corinthians 1:22), but that was not the main purpose for Jesus’ ministry and probably not to interested in having those have been healed by Jesus to go out and spread the word to the multitude. The main ministry at this time in history for Jesus is to preach to the Jews that kingdom of heaven is at hand ( Matthew 4:17).
I do not know if there is motivation behind Judy’s comment about verse 15, but the word minister does not necessarily imply speaking. To minister is to serve to the needs of a person or persons. A person with a fever usually can still speak. Angels are ministering spirits. We are only allowed to minister to others according to God’s holy word and guidance from God through his spirit.
@Bane,
Concerning your question about why Jesus keeps stating to tell no man after he has been healed, until it is finished on the cross. The Jews are still under law and must still obey what Moses wrote in Leviticus 14 for this situation and the priest were leading the way in the rejection of Jesus as their Messiah because they did not want to lose their prestige and authority.
In Verse 2, the leper man showed trust in God knowing that Jesus can do all things if he wishes, and it’s not by force though. I think that feeling pleased my father in heaven.
It's not what do I think, it's what does it say.
The Scripture clearly tell us we need ot get our priorities straight. Much like WWJD what would Jesus do, it's should be WDJD what did Jesus DO. We need to read and pray and do the things the bible commands us to do.
Because we are made sons only by the LORD Jesus Christ's mercy,I believe those who refuse to work and grow in the word of GOD will be cast into obscurity.(outer darkness)Their glory will be as the stars.see Romans 1:20
Question: After Sermon On The Mount,in Matthew chapter 8, Jesus followed by the great multitudes made a man clean from leper. What confuses me is why he strictly told him to tell no man about healing. This is a situation that appears often in the Gospels. P.S. MIKE when you find time answer me this, please. GOD BLESS US ALL
Verse 12 is referring to the Israelites, God's chosen people. It's saying they will be cast into darkness (i.e. hell). For their unbelief in Christ, which will bring excessive mourning.
This scenario is not seen very much this often unless you are in a foreign country. Whilst the scenes and some of the people may have changed; but the principles still apply. First of all, people need to remember that there are two types of faith here. There are those that believe in Jesus to only assist them enough to remove some of the burdens they are facing; whilst, there are those that fully believe and trust in him to be the Almighty Savior. This entire chapter deals with the Lord doing his Father's business; but, you can tell from the different responses of the people, exactly which are which. There are those with a lot of faith, some with no faith, and some with a lot of faith. It depends on how brainwashed the individuals are as to how they will respond.
i believe we various types and levels of faith here.
first a man asks if it is the lords will to heal,thank God it is.then yet a greater faith that says just speak the word only,then others were brought that were possessed by devils who knew not to believe,then we see the faith of Jesus,calming the sea and casting out demons.we too have the power to cast out demons and even over the winds and the sea bless God forever more.
ʼElo‧him′ means, not “persons,” but “gods.” So those who argue that this word implies a Trinity make themselves polytheists, worshipers of more than one God. Why? Because it would mean that there were three gods in the Trinity. But nearly all Trinity supporters reject the view that the Trinity is made up of three separate gods.
WHILE Jesus is often called the Son of God in the Bible, nobody in the first century ever thought of him as being God the Son. Even the demons, who “believe there is one God,” knew from their experience in the spirit realm that Jesus was not God. So, correctly, they addressed Jesus as the separate “Son of God.” ( James 2:19; Matthew 8:29)

I agree with your comment, because we need to understand when we read. God speaks to us to change what is in us, not what we see others do .
