Hi Alex; I think I understand what you're saying: but the whole purpose for Jesus leaving us in the world for now is for the Holy Spirit in us to convict the world by their seeing the grace of God in our lives as well as in our testimony. As far as looking for signs of His coming; it is the falling away of the many, and the transgressors coming to the full, and universal indifference and unbelief.

He will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. . .He has begun a mighty work within you and he is the author and finisher of those mighty works. . .He is your STAY -.His word is inscribed upon the tablet of your heart. . .His word does not fall to the ground void, but goes forth to do that which he purposed AND prospers in that thing whereunto it was sent - "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee"

The truly harvest are plentous but the labourers are few We must pray that God will send more labourers to the harvest. In society so many who are blessed and seeking God but only few are obeying Gods words but we are already saved by the blood of Jesus thru him only we can enter the Kingdom of God Amen

"Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few " Was there any difference in the crowds of cast away and weary with no Shepherd that we look upon, and those whom the Lord Jesus looked upon? Multitudes of toiling and troubled lives, each one with a story of experiences and feelings, of love and hatred and unfulfilled purpose with varying degrees of light and darkness, of empty days of darkness, without the grace, peace and the knowledge of God. Children are born and grown up and old, in good health and ill, rich and poor, in a deceitful and unjust world unfit for the Presence of God. So God comes down Himself in the flesh to visit and redeem us, and to lay down His life to rescue us from our destructions. God made us and sustains our lives because He wants us! He has an eternal plan for the world to be saved, and He has chosen a few from out of the world, to be His Royal Embassy of His Glad Tidings to all the world. That's how we are to look upon the multitudes like Jesus does!

The harvest truly are plentous but the labourers are few Gods blessings are abundant but only few servants obeying his words. Teach me Jesus to be born again in Spirit every moment of my life. I will praise you Jesus forever Jehova Jireh the Lord my provider Shalom amen

Matthew 9:32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. It is easy for the Devil to advantage of the Weak. 1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. We must BELIEVE that Jesus is God and only One.

Nitpicking is squabbling over something that is irrelevant, minor, unimportant. When someone changes a simple word in scripture to a group of words that suits himself, and then tells someone they are not saved because they don't embrace the "group of words"; to object to this is not nitpicking. I said my peace, with Scripture to make my plea. (Although some here won't like it)

Nitpicking. Picking lice eggs from someone's hair or clothing.
  • Blind on Matthew 9 - 8 years ago
The scriptures are composed of many witness accounts along with testimonies from Prophets and Sons of God. Ultimately they are a dialogue from God for our benefit. Let our study please the Father for what is written in this Book exists nowhere else on earth. Let these words sink down in our ears to our hearts, defiled from generations of misbegotten sinners who have lost their way.

Jesus came to heal those who believed in his ability to heal. He was the new wine, so to speak. But he knew his time on earth was short and made sure the whole world at that time new of his ministry, which was pure but couched in the mysteries og God. Thus he spoke in parables, ie. The kingdom of God is like such and such. Thus those with faith to be healed were healed. Their doubts were gone

Now, to me, knit-picking is taking a scripture(s) and taking IT apart - to mean what it doesn't. What I've done is only quoted scripture - as is. Acts 2:37 - the people asked a simple SINCERE question and Peter, with the 'keys' Jesus had given him - answered them - and - 3,000 were added - THAT DAY!!! Okay, now show where I knit picked here ................
  • Wayne on Matthew 9 - 9 years ago
There are those who " 'knit pick' " about other scriptures , such as " in the name of", not heeding the words of the Lord. One must really be careful when reasoning with others. God Bless.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 9 - 9 years ago
This 'knit-picking' is what Jesus got onto the Pharisees about, Matt23:23; "you have omitted the weightier matters ... ", i.e. salvation, love, compassion, .........
  • Irene123 on Matthew 9 - 9 years ago
Why do people knit-pick on scriptures that have nothing to do with salvation ..... ?
  • Stephende on Matthew 9 - 9 years ago
The old wineskins represent the Torah and the prophets. The new wineskins is the emergence of the High Priest, Jesus, who came as Moses proclaimed, preaching the Word and healing by miracles. Most rebuked him, but he was the fulfilment of the scriptures. The Messiah, whom the people of that day rejected, nevertheless remained true to his calling and in his devotion to the Father who sent him.

I love Matthew chapter 9. However, it's hard to read verse 17 because it doesn't read the same as it once did. In that verse it mentions bottles. In that day, there were NO BOTTLES!! It used to say wineskins and NOT BOTTLES!! Go to Bible Hub, and you will see the CORRECT way this verse used to read.

To insight777 - do you know, Jesus created 'reverse psycology'. The 2 blind men did exactly what he wanted. the reason He didn't say, "Tell everybody you see"- he knew it'd be presumptuous on His part. It'd be boasting. I'm not judging you; please believe that. It's hard to get attitudes across in this way; speaking face to face is so much better.

  • Insight 777 on Matthew 9 - 11 years ago
Verse 27, the 2 blind men were religious as they recognized Jesus as the son of David. Their religion accepted Jesus but not as the son of God. They were blind because they could not see Jesus as the Messiah. They could not see that Jesus could save their souls. They saw Jesus as a prophet only, a son of David nothing more than that.
