    the book of revelation was written when Jesus was in Heaven having been given all the power and glory meaning He cannot be "he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. " being talked about in this verse.

    confused after seeing all this I am not saying I don t like tattoos but the word clearly says to not mark our bodies So which one is right or has subsistence I don t have any tattoos probably because I don t like needles LOL
  • Brenda bailey on Revelation 19:16 - 12 years ago
    Jesus said not to mark your flesh so that means he does not have a tattoo
  • Angel_1971 on Revelation 19:16 - 12 years ago
    It says it is written on His vesture(garment) 'AND' on His thigh. Therefore, not only is it written on His garment that hangs down to His thigh BUT it CLEARLY says it is "on His thigh", which means skin.

    Out of his mouth comes the same (s)word that uttered the universe into existence and will pierce hearts to defeat nations. 2000 years ago that was as true as today and they crusified him because they thought he should be aggressive with instruments of death and destruction.
  • ALF on Revelation 19:16 - 12 years ago
    No Jesus does not have a tattoo (He would not deface His body and then tell you not to do it). The scripture says "He has ON his vesture (His Robe). therefore His body is covered, so hwo then would you say you see anything on His naked skin. If you were to look at the most of the Priestly robes they have a shawl which drapes over the shoulders and hangs down the front and it generally hangs to the "THIGH" length. This is where the monogram KING OF KINGS is written on one side the LORD OF LORDS on the other

  • _Rosalina_Sayson_Ko_Tapay_ on Psalms 127 - 12 years ago
    @Tran Cong Tan

    Psalms Chapter 127 did not mention the phrase, "thy word above thy name". But to answer your question, the exact statement written in the Bible was this, "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise "THY NAME" for thy lovingkindness and for "THY TRUTH": for thou hast magnified "THY WORD" above "ALL THY NAME" ( Psalms 138:2). It means, GOD magnified "THE WORD OF GOD" above "ALL THE NAME OF GOD" and We all know that GOD has so many names mentioned in the Holy Scriptures but there was only one name which God had magnified above all HIS name and that was "The Word of God". The Word of God was described in the Bible as this, "His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had "A NAME WRITTEN, THAT NO MAN KNEW, BUT HE HIMSELF". And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and "HIS NAME" IS CALLED "THE WORD OF GOD" ( Revelation 19:12-13). So, the only one name that God magnified above all His name is "A NAME WRITTEN, THAT NO MAN KNEW, BUT HE HIMSELF". Therefore, all names that EVERYBODY KNEW is NOT The Word of God which God had magnified.

    This passage is about the Anti-Christ or the king of fierce continents he will not desire women. Either he will be a homosexual or transvestite. He will not regard Jehovah God, and will try to magnify himself above all God’s. He will be an apostate, and he will come to power with flattery. We are very close, but the Holy Spirit is holding him back, until the Bride of Christ is taken out of the world. We don't know where or what nation he will come out of, but in the 70 weeks of Daniel's prophecy we will know. Jesus comes at the end of the 70th week to destroy him, and usher in the Kingdom of God, Revelation 19:11.

    My prayer is to be counted among these nations. To glorify God while I'm on earth. I know that sin at any level must be denied, so I pray lord has mercy on me.
  • Emmanuel A yah'ya on Revelation 19 - 13 years ago
    From this chapter I think that we need prayer seriously, because the deceptive principle of the antichrist is so hard to understand, unless you are in spirit, for no-man knows the things of spirit but only him who is in the spirit of truth that searcheth, proveth all things (1 Corithiaans 2:10). Therefore let's be ready and stay on guard, for the day is fast approaching.

    Verses 27-36:
    1. Here again as in other parables, Jesus is going to explain a heavenly doctrine with a earthly application by using the religious leaders ignorance in attempting to trap Jesus in saying a falsehood that would not agree with the law of Moses;
    2. It would not have mattered how many marriages the Sadducees used (7 is God's number of perfection);
    3. It is a fact that God has patterns of things on earth that are in heaven ( Hebrews 9:23, 24), and marriage is no different, but what is different is patterns of this world are earthly, and the patterns of heaven are spiritual;
    4. When comparing heaven with this world you must keep this at the forefront of a comparison;
    5. We are married and given in marriage (man and woman only) in this world, but in heaven after the judgment seat of Christ the bride (born again church age believers) is given in marriage to the lamb of God (Jesus Christ), Revelation 19:7-9;
    6. The bride for Jehovah God is the Old Testament saints ( Isaiah 61:10);
    7. The holy scriptures likens us to angels because they are spiritual created beings and because all angels in the bible are men (no female angels exist in the bible);
    8. There is no mention of unbelievers being married after this life in the bible, because part of their torment in hell is separation from everybody and most of all separation from God, total darkness.

    Amen, to the above comment. And notice the 9th month, being December, in the Hebrew calendar, as the 1st month is April. And "FROM" the 24th of December, which is the "25TH" As we call Christmas, "I will bless you, says God! Wow!! Peace on earth and goodwill to men’’ sounds a lot like Christmas, to me. The greatest gift ever, when God gave His son, Christ Jesus, for us. And check, that out in verse 19. The "SEED" is yet in the barn, on December 24th, Joseph, Mary, and infant, yet unborn Christ child, were all literally in a barn, in Bethlehem. Awaiting the appointed day December 25th, from which we are all blessed. As yet the VINE is Church, the FIG tree is Israel, the pomegranate, which speaks of the Resurrection of Christ. In Hebrews "a tree that grows UPRIGHT” from root word, meaning exalt, "Get Oneself UP!! Lift Up!! Denoting the Power of the Resurrection of Christ Jesus our Lord! And Olive tree, which gives olive oil, speaks of the Baptism in the Holy Ghost, as in the anointing oil of God. Which is the Promise of the Father. And verse 22 "The overthrow of Kingdoms" with horses and riders, speaks of Revelation 19:11, at the 2nd Coming of Christ and Matthew 25, "The Judgment of all Nations. Agape, Reggie.

    @ fiona's comment on luke 10- WOW! i do not know where to begin with you. i surely do not know what bible you are reading. i am guessing from your statement that you are involved with a charismatic women liberation movement that does not teach and preach the bible. you have missed the character of jesus, paul, and john the baptist to begin with, and i do not believe that you allow the holy spirit to guide you to any truth. if you believe that paul and john the baptist are women haters (misogynist) than you have completely misunderstood the pauline epistles written by the holy spirit. jehovah god does not believe in women liberation and if you do not understand and agree with that, then you are not going to have much success in comprehending gods holy word and becoming in a close relationship with him. paul and john the baptist were both hand picked by god to represent his son jesus christ. i believe you need to humble yourself( james 4:6) and get on your knees and ask for forgiveness. you do not represent the spirit of jesus ( revelation 19:10).
  • Jay on Mark 13 - 13 years ago
    @Shannon,
    When reading the gospels, one must remember to rightly divide the bible into periods of time, and knowing the group of people the book, chapter and verse(s) are directed to. This chapter as is Matthew 24, and Luke 21 are mostly prophetic for the Jews in the future, after rapture of church age Christians only. Jesus is talking about what the spiritual and earthly conditions will be like just before the 2nd advent. Some of these prophecies have already began and will increase as we get closer to the 2nd advent. The key verse to understand is verse 14, which directly speaking of the anti-Christ that will break the peace covenant ( Daniel 9:27) with the nation of Israel that was signed about 31/2 years earlier. Then the anti-Christ which came in bringing peace ( Daniel 11:24) will begin to slay the Jews by the millions (about 14 millions) more than twice as many as Hitler did. And they are given here a warning to start fleeing Israel to Selah Petra (present day Jordan) south of the dead sea to escape the slaughter that is going on and where God will divinely provide for them until Christ’s return. The great tribulation time will begin in verse 14, which is what you can read about in Revelation 4:1 (rapture of the Christians) to Revelation 19:11-16 (the 2nd advent).
