"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." - this is a common saying, but is not what the Bible says. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." - 2 Corinthians 5:8 is what it actually says. Paul says he's "willing" and would "rather" be absent. The Bible says the dead will rise when Jesus returns and be judged.
You answered your own question. Physical bodies won't be raised but spiritual bodies- 1 Corinthians 15:44. All physical bodies are done and unusable. The whole chapter addresses this exact question.
