Bible Discussion Thread

I have been on this site for a long time and now I see more and more people with there own ideas about the Bible and everything else and making it harder and harder to understand. It is so simple! If you are a God fearing person and a believer in God and his Son Jesus and you live by Gods laws then you are going to Heaven and if you don't you are going the other way when you die. Why make it so hard to understand when it is so simple? Even the Bible is easy to understand.

Hi Norman, I am new to this site, and I am actually helped very much by several of those writing in. I am asking the Holy Spirit to guide me in all things, and He is leading me and awakening me by certain teachers. I am turned off by all self-importance and over complexity, too. But my mind is expanding every day (Father, in thy light shall I see Light) as I open to learn more about the Bible, and to find Jesus Christ throughout .... But we are led out of different pasts brands plucked from the fire I am being led out of a family background of secular humanism, intellectualism (Pride), philsosophy, New Age practices and some occult. What a mess! Still, My Father Knows what He's doing ....... I can't stop praising Him for the gift of salvation..... God Bless......

Norman you are a star , people love to make things harder , then they can say that theyve discovered something no one else has ,this inflates their ego , as paul said about the athenians and greeks in general at that time ,they want to hear some new thing ,if their ears are not attuned to the True Word they will make something up in order to impress others , all we can do is try to help out the genuine babes as they are taking their first steps ,the one who think they know it all dont take any notice of what any one else says , Jesus is calling sinners to repentance , those who are righteous dont need our help . Yes , im being ironic .

The Bible is an intricate collection of stories, not unlike a collection of English literature. These works keep both laymen and scholar's up all night, yearning for appeal. Some Christian's tend to think they're God's spokesman. Then it hits, a spiritual moment of reckoning; Christian fine tuning making us better.

Bible lovers want to put their skills up against other like minded Christian's. If you are discussing history, that's easy to evaluate, but the future, Revelation etc....Forgetabouit. Spend a day researching what is said about the end-times, and you would walk away confused. Now you would have the passion to read the Bible for yourself, and fight the good fight.
