How can anyone read the first paragraph of Revelation and all they get our of it is to spew hate and domination on people.

This is my first day getting into this book. Never wanted to read it before but as I have grown in my relationship with God I wanted to see how others felt about the book in ways that I could learn from.

The very first comment is hate and domination.

    I'm so disappointed.

I shall exit the comments, not what my spirit needs to read in my morning reading with my God.

I'm reading cpt 3 of revulation. Can some one explain to me why the church of Philadelphia was the only church Christ seems to be easier on than the other 6 churches.

Was the church of Philadelphia the only church trying to do the right thing in Christ eyes.

Hello Carmen. I assume you're referring to chapter 1 of The Revelation. I re-read this opening chapter & found nothing disturbing in it, certainly not "hate and domination". But maybe I've misunderstood you, so please forgive me. If you specify what verse(s) have created concern for you, then we could help you understand. This is a tremendous book, filled with the promises of Jesus Christ & ought to cause His children to live careful & holy lives, knowing the coming Wrath of God upon the Earth against all those who have hated & rejected Him. And this is why Jesus came: to be our Sacrifice so we wouldn't be condemned & sent into eternal pain & suffering. This Book ought to encourage those who are IN Christ, & also be a great warning to those who reject Him.

Carmen, I truly understand how you feel, because it happened to my wife. My wife was reading the Old Testament and was sad to read killing and war, it made her cry . I can now read Revelation, but it's not for everyone. Reading Romans through Philemon is great doctrine inwhich we need to grow in grace . We all grow in the Lord differently, keep up the good work in Christ Jesus .

    Ray
