It has been difficult here lately for me to pay my tithes. I am a widow and sometimes things come up and I have to pay that bill or something tear up and I don't have money to pay them. I pray about this and waiting on a answer from GOD. I know this is a sin but I don't know what to do in this situation. I don't to make GOD mad or do anything wrong. I am just not handling this well
Those who shame others into giving 10 percent is motivated by greed in some cases. Ten percent quotas are poorly supported by scripture and the ones who preach tithing the loudest to others are the same ones benefiting from it. My question is if we are going to chose an Old Testament law to follow and if money is honestly not the motive then why only selectively chose that? Instead it could be wearing mixed clothing, or women having long hair and not wearing jewelry, or why not first observe the Sabbath as many don't, because that's one of the ten commandments. There's more Bible verse support for greeting strangers with a holy kiss on the cheek than there is for tithing, because there is examples in the New Testament.
If you watch TV you see a lot of fake people begging for more money so they can buy more jets. They have multiple mansions, yachts, and even admit to this- but this money comes from shaming people and manipulating them into tithing and "sowing a seed". Even one of my own family members used to be in ministry and sent out letters asking for money and he would use all the right keywords to coerce people into giving, but he just wasted it on expensive stuff for himself. I was sickened by it.
Today, there are hundreds of churches across cities all paying expensive building fees and utilities which sit empty and unused 6 days of the week instead of sharing. What if people just met in homes like the Bible originally modeled and we didn't pay any of this wasteful overhead in the first pace? Then instead of tithing to unnecessary building overhead we actually gave money directly to those in need around them- like homeless people or to help a child's health or education. Some charities have CEOS that make six or seven figure salaries. There is corruption everywhere, but giving directly to those in need is a better use of God's money IMO. You probably won't hear pastors say this because it could threaten their income.
"But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?"
Deuteronomy 15:11
"For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land."
Hello dear "Skxh45", I have just had some personal thoughts from 1999 confirmed by a film on YouTube by Billy Graham, that tithing is something completely different than what the church wants us to believe. The film on YouTube is titled "Thithing is a sin". This is a recommendation of the right kind. Remember that Jesus died on the cross once for all. By His resurrection and life, we can say in Christ. He lives in our hearts today. When we know that we will give a tenth of what He has set us free for. It means that we have once again taken the law upon ourselves and have been bound in a completely different dimension than in the freedom we have in Christ. But what is about giving from a pure and sincere heart is where Jesus wants us all to be. An act based on compulsion will never bring a single blessing. In the name of Jesus Christ we break this chain that has been placed upon you and others! Feel free to give as you feel strongly about giving a fold, 10 fold or 1000 fold. In Jesus Christ name, Amen
Dear sister everything else is of evil, it will bind you, it will make you a slave under the control spirit and manipulation. Unfortunately they are found in the churches around and that from people who themselves are bound in self-exaltation and pride. We all need to keep ourselves clean and pray to the Lord with a sincere heart that He will keep us in the good faith, freedom, and that He will enlighten us from His word. So that we may have the assurance of salvation. Thanks be to God the Father in Heaven in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, through the Kingdom of the Holy Spirit from now on and forever, Amen. Bee strong and stay close to the Lord Jesus. Love u in Christ.
I read from 1 Tim 4:1-11 today. As it is a bright sunny day here in the North Scandinavia.
There is nothing in the New Testament that requires a believer to pay a tithe. Tithing comes from the Old Testament, and it was a requirement by law for the Israelites to tithe. We as believers today are not under the law. Now, please know that I am not telling you that you should not tithe if you choose to do so. Also, I am not against believers giving to the church, and I think that giving is good, but what a person gives is between them and God.
There is no requirement or mandate that we must tithe, and we should not feel pressured you to do so. Please know that you are not sinning against God by not being able to give at certain times. The Lord knows your circumstances. Another thing you must know is that we as believers, we are not going to be judged by God as to how much money we gave or didn't give to the church. Again, giving is totally up to the believer as to when and how much. I hope this helps ease your mind some.
at all. please help me with this.
