    Hello dear ones in Christ,

I request prayers for myself today. This morning I woke up at 5:45 with a really painful neckache behind my right ear and lower base of my skull. I took two Aleve and a muscle relaxer but to no avail. The pain worsened over the next 1/2 hour even with ice application. My husband took me to Urgent Care when they opened. I did get a double dose of pain medication that brought the pain level down from an 8 to about a 4. I have been resting most of the afternoon, taking Tylenol and pai meds and applying ice packs. The pain is still remains where it was when I left the clinic.

Please pray for this pain to go away soon. We have a birthday party for little Rosie on Sunday afternoon and we need to get things ready for this over the next few days. I want to be able to help without making the pain get worse or come back.

It has been 10 years since i had my last bought of this-occipital neuralgia. It was difficult to resolve, persisting for several weeks.

I truly do appreciate the prayers of anyone who will pray for me. May you be very blessed.

    GiGi,

It's never a good feeling when a brother or sister in Christ is going through pain or hardship. I will definitely lift you up to the Lord in prayer. Hang in there!

    Thank you, Jesse

I appreciate your compassion and commitment to pray for me and others. I finally was able to eat something tonight without b being nauseous.

I am thankful for the community that has grown on this site. As someone who is pretty much a homebody, it is good to have a good relationship with others here who take our fellowship seriously. I have a handful of longtime friends that I see over the year and family as well. Keeping up on the needs of those in our church, which is mostly very elderly people, is a pleasure.

I am Johnny-come-lately here and am sorry to hear your debilitating pain. May God heal you right now. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen

    Thanks, Bennymkje

I know that God gives ear to our prayers. Doing a bit better this morning than yesterday. Still need to take it easy turning my heard. Ice packs are helping and the meds the Doctor prescribed help a lot, too. I just remember that "this, too, will pass in time."

Perhaps you need to slow down a bit, migraines, and several others flare up, and a defence mechanism of the body. He that has begun a good work never stops with half measures. My prayers go with you. GBU

    Hello again Bennymkje,

What I am experiencing is not a migraine although occipital neuralgia and migraines often present in similar symptoms. Both ca be due to stress. But with what I have, it is more often related to osteoarthritis in the C vertebrae, which I have and it is quite progressed. And it is related to inflamed muscles, ligaments due to the arthritis. I thank you for your concern. I have learned these past 10 years how to read my body pretty well and know when I need to make adjustments in my activities to reduce my activity level. The arthritis I have is both inflammatory and inherited.

Thank you for your thoughts and concerns and prayers. We are getting on in years and inevitably, our bodies accumulate problems that stem from the Fall in Eden. So, I am reminded that this life is not all there is. We have a resurrection and glorification in our future and we will be even better than we could ever be. Looking forward to this, especially at times like this.

Will keep you in prayer Gigi. I had to look up the information for occipital neuralgia & it sounds very painful and debilitating. Massage, muscle relaxing actions, even a cold or hot compress seem to help. You no doubt have already tried these other options and to have it appear again after so long, must be so frustrating. May the Lord touch this part of your body with His healing Hands and help you in preparation for Rosie's party.

    Thank you Chris,

Yes, I am doing all the things you mention. The area is still painful and very tender but I am able to do some simple massage on it using a flexible ice pack.

Thank for being a faithful ad caring friend, praying for me whenever I request.

Hoping that I will get relief from pain soon.
