Testemony: Then I met an old friend who excitedly explained to me that he had been saved. He asked me to come to a meeting. In my gratitude, I thought, yes, I can try and get saved. My life felt completely finished anyway, so maybe I can try it, I thought wistfully. I had no laughter or joy of any kind, in my life. Everything was just heavy. I didn't really believe this. But the meeting was supposed to be right after New Year's. But I was afraid I would forget the invitation so I wrote it on the calendar. It was 09.01.1999. The three weeks I had to wait were very difficult. It seemed as everything and everyone was against me. I almost felt like the house was going to fall on me and I was wavering and wavering about what to do. So I decided not to go. So when the day came I felt like I was left out and it hurt my heart. So I made up my mind and left, I got in the car and went to the meeting. Many curious eyes stared at me and I sat down in a corner at the bottom of the meeting room. I don't remember what was preached about. But what I do remember is that my tears flowed from my eyes. I had such a need for sin that I have to say ithe tears didn't stop. Finally they wanted me to get up and kneel. I ran up, had to come to intercession, wanted to be saved! When I fell on my knees, an older lady came to me and wanted to lay her hands on me. Afterwards she told me that she couldn't, because there was a power in me. who wouldn't let her do it. I didn't notice it, but she leaned over me and said: Say Thank You Jesus, I said Thank You Jesus and then everyone in there cried with joy I think. We thanked and praised God in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. And when we had greeted and thanked for the meeting, it was time to go home. Sure, I was a little worried. But I got home, I didn't feel anything special. Before I thought that I had to try and repent. After a few days, I put the tobacco away. And the rest you have read. God bless everyone! Grace upon grace inJesusname John 7:17

Amen Brother Free, The grace of God and the peace which passeth all our understanding is our testimony. The Same God and how we receive Christ and experience His presence is different. It is what John's gospel tell us, "and we know that his testimony is true./And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen."(Jn.21.24-25)

We are all His epistles written not with ink but with how bears fruits for the glory of his Father who first trusted in us and set apart even before we were born! Think of it, truly Amazing, is it not!

Hello dear grace Brother "Bennymkje" , thank you for your words they warmed, all the way to here! I have to mention it because right must be right. I am a sister in the Lord. But for my part we are all equal before the Lord. And share everything, we also bear each other's burdens. Stand strong in the Lord as you do, and in Him I love you. Praise be to Jesus Christ our God and Father, Hallelujah Amen

Testimony: From one who knows that there is grace upon grace, and be with the Lord Jesus Christ. In last century I promised to read God's word every day for the rest of my life. It was truly a promise that the Lord thought was good! (If God could help me and get a house so that me and the boy could avoid moving so much). After six months, I was sitting in my own house, which I bought without owning a penny!

Then about 5-6 months passed and then suddenly I realized that I had promised God. ps I didn't think about Jesus in this case. He was hidden in a way because I had lived a life outside the church and believers. So in my frustration over having forgotten my promise. I found my Bible that I got from my grandparents when I was 12 years old. And read a verse in the evening before I was going to close the blue ones to sleep. And I had a tiny little travel testament with me wherever I went. So I could also read a verse over at someone's house. (And I didn't understand anything of what I was reading)! I didn't even have the faith to do this because I didn't have the money to buy anything. But because I actually met people who felt "needy" in their hearts because they wanted to help me. At the bank, at the municipality, etc. And there was a lot to arrange. A long way to drive. BUT everything was somehow clear.

And I am sure that everything was from the Lord Jesus.

Then 9 years passed. The last 4 were terrible. I fell into depression and despair. I wanted to drown and not live anymore. But my boy of course stopped me because what kind of person abandons everything.

But I have been very careful afterwards and promise something, so my advice is that everyone who wants to promise the Lord something. Think through it so it is a promise you are able to fulfill. I was ignorant when I went mine, maybe that was an advantage. But I thank the Lord that He has been faithful to me all my life. And I pray and hope that I have not disgraced Him Who is Mighty and Awesome.

Hi Tg. Not knowing your circumstances for this vow, I can only surmise. A vow is either made from one's own accord or another person has placed this burden on you. I'm guessing that you made it without any contribution or interference from someone else.

Is so, a vow is a solid promise, or a determined decision to do something. If I made a vow, whether a New Year resolution, or firm decision to do or avoid something, that vow would be dependent on how strong both my character and resolve was. If the desired outcome did not turn out the way I wanted, as in your case, then either you failed to keep it because of weakness, or circumstances surrounding the hoped for result was beyond your control - resulting in failure. I wouldn't beat up myself for this failure - maybe learn to be more discretionary in future concerning such commitments. If your vow was made to God, whether for service, abstinence, holy living, etc., God would see your heart's desire in this and enable you to fulfil it. But you wrote, "(the vow) did not work". Who or what do you believe failed you? God, yourself or someone else, who was involved in this?

Sorry to write generally on this, for lack of information. As well, I'm assuming that you're not referring to prayer - unanswered prayer, for that is another matter.
