Wikipedia states Patrick Peyton, CSC (9 January 1909 - 3 June 1992), also known as "the Rosary priest", was an Irish-born Catholic priest of the Congregation of Holy Cross, and founder of the Family Rosary Crusade. He popularized the phrases "The family that prays together stays together" and "A world at prayer is a world at peace."
This is news to me I thought it was Billy Graham who came up with that adage. The second verse certainly applies today about a world at prayer. Anyway I may not agree with Catholic theology but I'll call out a truth where I see it. I won't get into stats here but apparently there is much truth to statistics proving the cohesion of marriages involving prayer and it is no wonder.
It seems some prayers but only a few are answered very quickly. If we remain in an attitude of prayer and meditate day and night on His Word no doubt we will learn to recognize His handiwork with people and situations that are His answer to prayer.
There may be some situations where we learn His ways in regard to difficult situations. I think of the widow who Elijah came up to the widow in 1 Kings 17. God directed this but it seemed pretty obnoxious of him to ask for water and food first when the woman was prapering her last meal before death for her and her son. But God apparently assured Him of provision; for those who were with the prophet were also to be blessed. When we get to verse 20 it is interesting Elijah's prayer And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son? He then did a sort of mouth to mouth and the child revived. Interestingly we see a similar event in 2 Kings 4:34 along with a story earlier of miraculous provision by Elisha this time. Somehow God hid the meaning from Elisha as to her desperate emotional state until she spoke. She knew where to go to get results.
Hi again dear friend.The picture you describe in the last part is a recipe in a way, we must become one with the Lord. Now I do not have the answer to all things and people must judge according to their ability and understanding.But I would like to send encouragement and to not lose faith, because we ourselves depend on it. In our understanding we do not have much to be proud of, right? When we know that human wisdom is foolishness to God.When we pray in God's will we receive answers to prayers.We can feel that! Because we get a heavenly experience that is confirmed with thanksgiving and praise, Amen.The subconscious must be one with the Lord. It can be a hard test to get into that state.Sometimes it seems as we really get help, and we do, the Spirit helps us. Halleluja Amen!When we are one with the Spirit and our words are led by the Spirit. Then we do not allow our understanding to hinder God's plan, then we receive answers to prayers. Hope that was understandable. Other prayers like and praying for people with all kinds of illnesses, things they want as well. The best example in the Bible that I see is when Solomon asks for wisdom. 1 King 3. Since he did that and didn't ask for a camel. The Lord heard his prayer. 1 King 8:22-61
Special prayer topics need a different plan in prayer. It is and resting on the Word of God, Belive and repeating the Words, Stand firm in a faith that the Lord really hears us when we pray. Someone posted a verse from Psalm 18:2 here the other day. I "directly adopted" those words. Those words explain the Lord! They are really Good, we must find our words that we know help us in that faith, into the conviction that we need to stand on the Word of God, solid as a rock. Never depart from those Words. And be a Living Dead to sin, but Alive to God in the Spirit! Romans 8
