I ask for your prayers to help me find someone to talk with about my depression. I do not like having depression, but don't have any close friends with which to discuss this subject. My husband is against counseling unless he goes with me. He is very controlling. I love him with all my heart, but I do just as he says or wants me to do to keep peace in the family. I have very little say in any decisions.
My husband and I are active members in a Southern Baptist Church. My husband is a deacon.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. - Psalm 56:3
Darling friend,
"I'm scared," I whispered to my husband as we sat in the lobby of a psychologist's office, awaiting our appointment. We were about to bear our hearts and souls to a woman we had never met before. Our hearts were already heavy and utterly raw, feeling as if they had been rubbed by the roughest form of sandpaper. Yet there we sat, waiting for our names to be called, only to openly share the struggles and challenges we had been facing with our daughter over the last two years.
God is fighting for you too! If you are being choked out by fear and turning to your own devices, will you join me in trusting God and letting Him care for your anxious heart?
Was this the answer? Would this cause some of the dreaded fear we had been lugging around for so long to finally subside? We had no idea what we were in for. Everything looked bleak, and it felt as if we had been living in a fog.
I have sat in an office, waiting to do the same thing as you said. Pour out my heart to someone I didn't know. I was fortunate enough for the Lord to provide me with someone who just fit and just always know what to tell me and and how to guide me at the time.
Thank you for your words of wisdom given to me. I am a Christian and I love the Lord. I put him first and all we do my husband does the same. He is a deacon and son school teacher at our church and we are very active in church activities. My worst trouble is I have to deal with depression on and then it just I just wish it wasn't there still someone like could snap my finger and it not be there but there's nothing wrong. I just just don't feel like doing anything. But again I thank you very much for taking the time to answer me and please continue to pray for me. I would really Appreciate it. Good night. Martha Ann.
Many thanks for your answers, and it is just nice to share what i have, maybe to help. You know that we should all continue to pray together. Have you thought about having a prayer service and performing it? Be considerate, be present. Pray unceasingly for the Word to take up residence in people. It is no wonder that people with such gifts of grace become depressed. For they are the ones who sit on the wall.
Isaiah 62:6 Such a service will give you more than it takes from you. So we will pray that you will really light up your heart and mind. And fatigue and discouragement will be far from you. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. That the light is strong in you and in your husband so you are together in one and all. Same honor. Also see here what a nice word I got for you today. Ephesians 5:22-33 The words are only for encouragement because they speak about Marriage - Christ and the church. Be blessed sister of grace. love u in Christ.
Thank you for your response to my message. I appreciate you taking the time to send encouragement to me.
You stated, "It is no wonder that people with such gifts of grace become depressed. For they are the ones who sit on the wall."
I am not sitting on the wall for those on the wall can go either way (Jesus vs. Devil). I would never follow the devil where I am now in my life. Back in the 1980s I walked with the devil and I am now paying the consequences which are the memories of what I did at that time.
NEVER will I sin knowingly. The devil haunts me with the memories.
Hello again dear, there are a lot of mistakes in my writing, where even AI can make up and change words.I can some words and sentences. So here we go: Nice of you to say this, it is important for us when we pray. What we dealing with, you know it is different spirits who try and see your believe. You have for sure read Acts 19 15 Remember how Jesus walked in Israel, He drive out demons almoust everyday. (He may did all day, becouse we dont have all the text about Him, i belive). We people who belive in Him have no demones. But spirits who want us to come to Him and get some rest. From what where before. Whats thru here dear is that the moment you proklamed you belive in Jesus. When we all say Jesus name all people go from dead to life. Actually i read that today, loock here: John 3:36 This is a good example of Gods greace versus us.And here John 4:14
All this explanes that we are not to be afraid or hunted by bad conscience. So dont think about before anymore. Think about today and loock forward. We go on till tomorrow and further. Peronally i get a bit scared last time when you wrote that you dont have much responsibility. You have resposibility over you self. A advice from me dear sister. Be active, stay close and see what happening around you. There you have a responsibility. To do that is not a intervention, it is an active statement that things are as they should be. Becouse it is you and your husbands life together. Not one "king". Let me se if i could say this right. I dont say that you have it like that.I know you honour him in all thing. Only be active in your life so this dont happend. It is a saying, if u give a finger, the whole hand is soon taken. Then you will be scared, dont let that happend, dear. My mother let her husbond have all responsibility and when he, was no longer. She didnt know how to change a light bulb! That was the price to count only at him. Practical easy things was lost for her. And i know this is a big problem around all the world. Love u
Thank you so very much for your response. I read Ephesians 5:22-33 and have read it many time in my lifetime. My husband and I have talked about this verse often and we both put Christ first, but I also follow my husband's lead. He is a blessing to me and he does take care of money responsibilities (bills and payments). I want him to do that... I can do it but do not like to do it. So he is not taking the responsibility away from me, I depend on him to do that.
We had a wonderful week. Our son who is in then Army was in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to teach a class of new army boys. He is a Major in the Army and is waiting for Colonel any time.
Also our church, Baptist, is starting classes on Wednesday night to teach any of the members that choose to take the class how to witness to unsaved people. I was very excited about that information. He is a new pastor and we have had him for 6 months. Our church attendance has dropped over the last couple of years and Pastor Mark is doing an excellent job of helping us as members to know 'how' to mentor. My husband is attending the class also even though he has been witnessing to people for many years. Christ shines through him also. He is a deacon and a Sunday School teacher for the Senior members in our church.
God was so gracious to connect me with you because what you say to me is Biblical and gives me hope. In addition prayers are being answered for me to begin to help others.
Thank you so very much for your prayers. I am glad to tell you that your prayers are being answered (in my opinion).
I will most probably hit a depression spot again at some time, but having Christ in my life and doing things at church and other places will help me to turn to God for help. Being with other Christian people is good for me.
Thank you for your prayers and your responses that encourage me to guard against depression.
Hello "Martha Ann" dear sister in the Lord Jesus Christ, in peace, I also see that you have received many nice feedback. So I think and feel in my heart a sadness for you. And being with someone who does not see HIS condition is sad. With him you are ONE. Therefore, there should be harmony and belonging. Here I see two things. There may be more, because our fight is not against Eph 6:12 It may reveal itself to you later. A small example: When a woman does not see her husband's problem, that he walks with his boxer's butt frayed, and does nothing about it! And that you dear feel depression is in a darkness. Not directly spiritual I would think. But a darkness because your husband does not see you and your need. You can do two things. Do something extra one day so he HAS to see you. The second thing takes a little courage, because you are a Christian and have a subordinate man and woman faith. The problem is that he dominates! It is a spirit.Say out loud In the holy name of Jesus Christ I cast out the dominance, into the deepest darkness and never come back, in the holy name of Jesus Christ, Amen. What's strange in many cases like this is that the person concerned doesn't remember what was said even afterwards. Because it is not man who has invited the spirit. It comes and takes hold in a moment when we are lazy. Would be nice if you had talked to him about this so that he agrees. If that doesn't work you have to say this so he hears once it fits. For the darkness you know dear sister will disappear when you address this. This has nothing to do with you not loving him more. This is love, because you are taking hold of something that will lead you both into freedom in Jesus' Name. Then everything will be fine. He knows he dominates but can't help it because this is a spirit.Thank you Jesus,Amen. So be strong and courageous, esus is with you.And all of us who pray so be strong and courageous,Jesus is with you.And all of us who pray for you. There is a whole heavenly host!
If he is a chtistian why isnt he living THE LIFE AND WAys of Jesus when married you become as one. To me that means
You walk beside each other. You respect each others opinion about things . Not to be treated as if she has no brain or thoughts or ideals . Shes not your puppet.god did not intend for you to over take her life
A husband or wife that mistreats their spouse has seriously violated that most important, and instituted by God Himself, covenant in the bible, other that the covenant someone makes with God when they get saved. The marriage covenant is sacred to God. Love and cherish your spouse at all times. Remember, they are not you and are not going to be you! All blessings!
I love your name. I struggle with a little bit of that , too. My husband says against it as well. My husband is very controlling as well. I will be praying for you. That the lord leads you and guide you. I will also be praying for your husband. I'm a state home wife and my husband has just recently.Told me that I need to get a job. He works out of state. So sometimes it's very hard for us to communicate. When our marriage is good , it's good , but whenever it's bad it's bad. I do believe the Lord brought me to the discussion board today.Just to have some words of wisdom. I know God is good and everything happens in his time. Both my husband and I are christians. The last three years has really been a struggle. I love my husband so much. But the thing I have to remember is to pull myself out of the way and put everything in god's hands. You say strong. Let god lead you and guide you.
"Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered."
Psalms 145:18
"The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth."
My husband and I are active members in a Southern Baptist Church. My husband is a deacon.
Thank you for praying for me.
