"As thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.'
Here the Spirit explains what it is be pure in spirit. The centurion believed,- and it was as with Abraham who believed, and was counted to him for righteousness. Before the patriarch could believe the Word was God. He was with God. So the Covenant in seven days had set provisions as to the time element. The Spirit annotates this verse, "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions," by giving the Advent of the Word become flesh was 'in the fulness of time.'(Ps.107.20; Gal.4.4) The Spirit consequently presents Jesus of Nazareth simply as a man but in context of the Word and as anointed as fulfilment of the law.
How did the Gentile centurion could elicit such amazement? He was pure in spirit and saw faith as was in his Father's bosom.By the same token when Herod wanted to meet him only to invite Jesus say,"And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected."( Lk. 13.32) He would not have cared for the scramble among the white evangelicals for a photoshoot with their POTUS. His spirit was pure and he knew what was in the mind of man. Is it an honour to be invited to look into the cesspool of a man though sealed in high places?
The Spirit presents Jesus Christ in terms of the hour so the servant is healed in the selfsame hour. In terms of the word sent forth the Spirit gives him another time frame. "To preach the acceptable year of the Lord" (Lk.4.19)
Compare with another time sequence God has laid down for Jesus Christ. "And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men."(Rev.9.15) Third part of men belongs to thoe sons of perdition who refuses to enter into the God's rest.
In the last para, read this revised lines, " Third part of men belongs to those sons of perdition who refuses to enter into the God's rest. Compare the one third of stars,'And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth.' Three is a Command number for the Son."
