An AI search on the idea of the "Two State Solution" shows that it has been a concept for Palestine since 1937. So this has been going on even before the current 1948 State of Israel existed apparently. If you had a rabbit for a pet that you baited with a carrot for 88 years it probably wouldn't pay too much attention.
The basic logic of attempting to sell such a bill of goods no doubt is assisted with endless cash incentives; land swaps; etc. but in reality neither Israel or the surrounding Muslim nations are interested in such an option; but it appears Antichrist will accomplish it as half the city is taken in the end part of the time of Jacob's trouble ( Zech. 14:2).
We certainly are delusional thinking that both parties can live "side by side in peace and security" if they didn't even BEFORE the nation of Israel was reformed in 1948. Of course the Colonialists redefined whole areas of the Middle East to control their economies and subsequently after creating this problem offered the "solution"; or as some have stated "order out of chaos".
It seems a bit hard sometimes when we are commanded in a way to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" ( Psalm 122:6) when they are described in less than favorable terms in Revelation; and also will sign a covenant with "death and hell" willingly ( Isaiah 28:18). We can possibly see a short respite for a few days or weeks; more likely the eventual fruition of the Millennium that is to come; hopefully accellerating toward that through the faithful preaching of the Gospel ( 2 Peter 3:12).
Obviously there is no peace for the wicked; or without the Prince of Peace. Men's hearts are wicked; therefore the resulting religions; ideologies or demonic entities that are motivating the world system to hurtle it to it's consummation.
In conclusion I won't express any opinion or thought as to any temporary interim of peace with today's negotiations as they seem to be nearing Daniel 9:27.
From what I have found out, Palestine has rejected the offer of a two state solution repeatedly since the beginning back in the 30's. Israel has been willing to go with the two state solution repeatedly.
Maybe it is time for Israel to not negotiate this two state option any longer and do what they need to do to secure their citizens from the terrorist of Hamas once and for all.
It is a sticky situation since the start of Jews returning to the land in large numbers before the holocaust. Before that influx, it seems that both Jews, Muslims, and Christians dwelled there in relative peace. Declaring that Israel would have a homeland in their historic land area made this relative peace a thing of the past. But it was decided by the countries that held the lands of Palestine politically and it was legally done. Therefore, the people opposing Israel's right as a country to exist are not willing to cooperate with the matter. The Jews returning to the land did so under the Balfour Declaration and so were in their rights to return. But it seems that Israelis did displace a large number of non-Jews from the land area, taking their land that they had for generations and subsequently impoverishing many non-Jews.
The Balfour Declaration was the result of those who considered themselves Zionists, but also the result of many European nations closing their countries to Jews as they immigrated from Russia/Ukraine into the heart of Europe and westward to Spain and Britain. This discrimination was not a good thing, but the Balfour Declaration provided a solution that led many Jews to go to Israel and for these anti-immigration measures that took place in so many European countries.
This is some of what I have read. I am sure there is much more than I am sharing here as well as nuances and untold stories as well.
It is most likely that many wrong things were done by all involved. And the consequences of such actions have been tragic in many ways. Just sad.
