I am really grateful to S. Spencer and Brother Chriis for their responsses to my question about the Lord not being able to see our face when we are burdened with sin. Brother Chris, I was actually looking for Isaiah 59, 1, 2. It was for a bible study I taught this past Wednesday, and it was a very important point. This is the first time I have used this forum and your responses surprised me as they got to me so quickly. Of course I had my information a little muddled because the verses say that we cannot see His face, not that He cannot see ours. I hope to use this forum often, and maybe I can be as helpful to someone in here as were to me. Thank you again. June 316
Thank you June for coming back to us. I trust you had a lovely precious time in your Bible study and all present there were encouraged from the Word. Look forward to seeing you back here in the future. Blessings.
Hello June. The Scripture that comes to mind is in Isaiah 59:1,2: "Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear."
Other Scriptures could be found in Micah 3:1-4 and Habakkuk 1:13 These verses are found in the Old Testament and have little application to the Church today. So, I'm unsure whether your question is just a general one or you believe that there is a verse that tells us that God, for some reason, will not look upon us when we sin or is unable to see us when we sin.
Welcome to the site and we look forward to hearing from you hopefully in the near future.
God bless you.
Brother Chris gave you some verses that first came to mind.
Also, are you sure you're not thinking of John 9:31
"Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
Read John 9:30-41 perhaps you have these verses in mind.
Blessings.
