Blessing of God is expressly directed to individuals in his Son and His calling and gifts are without repentance. Testimony Jesus Christ is given by God to his angel and it is consistent in this case. It is the angel of the Lord who enlightens Hagar.
God says," I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." God does not say 'I am the God of Reuben or of Levi". Neither does he say with regards to Ishamael but God does it through Abraham, "and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." It is for the individual as in the case of Jacob, the heel-catcher to receive it by his faith. This testimony we see connecting with Jesus Christ. "I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:/Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us."(Ps.78.2-3)
Parable compares heaven with the earth and let us consider this verse," Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth:" When Abram died both Isaac and Ismael were present; similarly at the death of Isaac both Esau and Isaac were present. The point is the rest of the patriarchs bring both nations of heavenly calling and of the earth as one. It is for the man to enter into the rest of God himself. Consider how the Spirit phrases the death of Ishmael. "And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people./And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren."(25.17-18) In the presence of his presence included the Son as well.
Ishmael enters into his rest as Abraham but how do their works follow them? In Rev.20 the nations include enemies to Christ and they are led by Satan, " and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them."(Rev.20.8-9)
