26:58 But Peter followed him afar off - Variously agitated by conflicting passions; love constrained him to follow his Master; fear made him follow afar off. And going in, sat with the servants - Unfit companions as the event showed.
Mt 26:58 Peter followed him . . . to the high priest's palace. The enclosed area, open to the sky, around which the palace was constructed, was called the court. The building extended all around this.
But Peter followed him afarre off, vnto the high Priests palace, and went in, and sate with the seruants to see the end.
