11:25 Thrice I have been shipwrecked - Before his voyage to Rome. In the deep - Probably floating on some part of the vessel.
2Co 11:25 Thrice was I beaten with rods. This was the Roman scourging. Only one of these instances is reported in Ac 16:23. Once was I stoned. See Ac 14:19. Thrice I suffered shipwreck. No account elsewhere is given of these. The shipwreck, on the way to Italy (Ac 27:44), was of later date. A night and a day I have been in the deep. In an open boat, or on driftwood, after a shipwreck.
Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned: thrice I suffered shipwracke: a night and a day I haue bene in the deepe.
