In Leviticus 26, the LORD sets before Israel the blessings of obedience versus the curses that would come upon them if they despise his statutes and break his covenant. He promises to progressively make their lives more difficult to encourage them to repent but if not, he would lay waste to their cities and scatter them among the heathen. Their history in the land is marked with numerous periods of oppression and destruction because of their failure to obey God.

The greater desolation and affliction is eternal separation from God by our sins. Destruction is the end result of sin.

Isaiah prophesied warnings of coming desolation which would culminate in the Jews being carried in captivity to Babylon. In part, verse 61:4 promises a return and restoration, but in a greater sense it promises Messiah we know as Jesus Christ. In Luke chapter 4, Jesus read aloud from this passage and then proclaimed that he is the fulfillment of the promise. He has, by dying for our sins on the cross and rising from the dead, brought us back from desolation to eternal life and a loving relationship with God. The creation will ultimately be restored when Jesus returns.

Greg, the mystery of God can seem to be so complex if it was never taught you. First read Isaiah 9:6 for the prophecy then read 1Timothy 3:16. Paul or Saul at the time, was crucifying Christians because he thought their teaching and worshiping of Jesus as God was heresy. Saul KNEW the scriptures and that there was only one God so he was zealous in trying to (what he thought) wipe out this Jesus movement. When God struck Saul down on the Damascus road and blinded him and Saul cried out to the Lord/God asking Him who He was, God told him He was Jesus. Jesus is the name above every name,Acts4:12. When Jesus was crucified He took on all the sins of the world and God's spirit had to leave his body hence Jesus crying, Father, why hast thou forsaken me? I hope I helped you a little bit. This is why we need to be filled with the HOLY GHOST so we can read and understand with the spirit. What must we do to be saved? Acts 2:38, repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sin and thou shalt be filled with the HOLY Ghost.

Word Trinity doesn't exist in Bible it was coined by Paul after many years of Jesus departure ... Jesus himself says our God is one lord means he affirmed he is on monethism

    Carl,

There are two pieces of scripture here that Paul uses to back up what he is saying. First of all, Deuteronomy 25:4 says thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treads out the corn.

In 1 Corinthians Chapter 9, Paul says you don't think that God was talking about oxen do you? If you have an oxen treading the corn, you got to feed that oxen too or else he's not going to be around to tread the corn for you.

The second scripture is Luke 10:7, the words of Jesus where He says the laborer is worthy of his reward, or hire. So Paul is saying that we should acknowledge those who labor in the word, and in doctrine, and make sure that they're taken care of.

This goes along with what Bendito is saying which I completely agree with!

The question that James E. asks is a wonderful question. When I viewed his question, i immediately went to Romans 1:18-19. I reference Old Testament (The Book of Deuteronomy), when It comes to how God's free will gives us the ability to recognize HIM as KING, yet when we allow ignorance in, and become puffed up, HE turns us over to our self will, for a time. I believe when people ARE NOT in the Word of God, they can make up false statements.

    Joseph in Charge of Egypt

41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt." 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph's finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. 43 He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command,[a] and people shouted before him, "Make way[b]!" Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.

44 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt." 45 Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On,[c] to be his wife. And Joseph went throughout the land of Egypt.

46 Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh's presence and traveled throughout Egypt.

    Deuteronomy 11:26

    "Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

    Deuteronomy 11:27

"A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:"

    Deuteronomy 11:28

"And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known."

Remember in the desert how El Shaddai took Moses aside and told him, when the Priest following Korah were immolated and others swallowed whole into Sheol, that He would decimate these rebels and make a people of Moses. And God was willing to destroy them with a plague. Moses interceded and stayed El Shaddai. He would talk to the people and bring them in line. Today a plague, which have no doubt comes from God and threatens to destroy en masse. This is from El Shaddai for our iniquities!!! Righteousness have devolved into partisan bickering. The Truth is elusive and facts are contorted to fit our leader's agenda!!. Evangelicals are largely responsible in that they were willing to compromise their values in order to facilitate their anti choice agenda, their anti personal freedom agenda. So they made a deal with Satan, that got their inarguably evil leader in place. So, this is what we have. Historically bad leadership on an historically bad plague. We as American's are laughing stock, while evangelicals pray to a Jesus that wouldn't return to earth from the sky with heralding angels to save anyone from this pandemic!

Learn Gematria and then you will see that everything news is tied together, govt, media, Hollywood, sports all rigged by the #'s. It is said that God created a divine language by merging the number with the letter. It's the same code Jesus Christ was put to death by.

    Decoder: Zachary K Hubbard

The Jewish elders learned Gematria during their 70 years in Babylonian captivity. Here's an simple example of the relationship numbers have:

The Pentagon is 77 feet tall, it sits on the 77th meridian, and on 'September Eleventh' (= 77 Reduced) was struck by fight 77, 77 min after takeoff, traveling at 530 mph (= 77 feet per second). So, why did flt 77 (missile) hit the pentagon? Because it was going home, get it?

You need a church & Pastor that believes, lives, and teaches the whole bible, all week not one or two hours on Sunday morning only. Study the first four books (of the KJV new testament BIBLE - Matthew - Mark - Luke - John plus Acts. I am near 80 and have read the 66 books (bible) many times and they are new every time. I love real personal testimonies - experiences of people today but not made up stories.

Dear Lord, Thank you for your love and kindness and your Truth to judge my life for your good purpose. That I can have the grace to see myself inside of thee and that I remain willing to be sanctified in my needs. My treasure is you and my life is now in your purpose. Help me to surrender my earthly needs to what seems best to you. Increase my faith and love in Jesus and his Church and help me to see my neighbor as myself in this prayer.

    In Jesus Name I pray.

Lord, Your Word says "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him" ( James 1:5). Lord, I need that kind of wisdom to know when to speak to my son and when to be silent.

"Do not let any unwholesome talk, lecturing, judging, or accusing come of my mouth, but only what is helpful for building my son up according to his needs, that it may benefit those who listen" ( Eph. 4:29).

Let me also be "quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for my anger doesn't bring about the righteous life that God desires" ( James 1:19).

Help me fight spiritual wickedness that would try to distract him from Fathers best for his life, in my closet on my knees.

Help me guide my son into manhood and teach him life skills 101. How to take care of his own things and his family things. To owe no one anything but to love them.

    Amen

    Father God,

Please help me to rest in your happiness,

To allow a smile to linger on my lips,

To dwell within a wonderful memory,

To walk back through sunlit places.

Please help me to awake with hope,

To engage with life in all its variety,

To take in the beauty of others joys,

To touch the souls of those I meet with thankfulness.

Please help me to sing with faith,

To carry the truth close in my heart always,

To rejoice at new life and

To have peace as I age.

To taste the kindness of friendship,

To feel the warmth of embrace.

Please help me not to miss

    A single drop of heaven,

    To catch each moment

And drink in the great joy of life.
