The Apostle Paul quoted this passage in 1 Corinthians 15:27. Paul quoted it in much the same way that the writer of Hebrews did in Hebrews 2:5-9, showing that this promise of dominion is now only incompletely fulfilled among men. Yet it will be ultimately fulfilled in Jesus, the ultimate Man, and will be one day also completely fulfilled in His resurrected followers. In light of all this, it is a great tragedy when a man is captured and held in bondage by the things of this world. We were born to have dominion over such material things, instead of being in bondage to them. O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth: When David thought about how vast a dominion God had given to man, it made him praise God all over again. That this humble creature - humble in light of the majesty of the universe, humble in light of its present standing under angelic beings - should be given such authority is a demonstration of both the excellence and the goodness of God.

    Albert,

Can you please clarify your statement: "Baptism is necessary for salvation. If it were not necessary, then Jesus would not have allowed John to baptize Him."

It looks like you are saying that Jesus needed to be baptized for salvation? There was a reason why Jesus was baptized, but it had nothing to do with salvation.
  • Adam - In Reply on Revelation 6 - 6 years ago
Jesus was a Jew. He's not 'cursed'.

Jews were God's chosen people and still are. I don't know why, but that's who God picked. That doesn't mean that Judaism is true. That belief denies Jesus, which is the central point of Christianity, to follow Christ. It's ok to condemn a false teaching, but not an entire people group.
  • Albert - In Reply on Acts 2:4 - 6 years ago
The proper of baptism is in the name of Jesus. There is no one baptized in the New Testament ever baptized under the titles Father, Son, HolyGhost. Father is not a name, Son is not a name, and Holy Ghost is not a name. These are titles. Jesus told them to baptize in NAME of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I am a father, and a son, and I have the Holy Ghost, but that is not my name. Jesus is the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost( John17:6; I Timothy 3:16; Acts 2:38, John 14:9) Jesus said except a man be born of the water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Baptism is necessary for salvation. If it were not necessary, then Jesus would not have allowed John to baptize Him. We need baptism. Jesus did not die on the Cross for nothing. Sins are only remitted by the name of Jesus. Baptism remits sins. If we believe that His blood provided us with a door to get to God, we must repent of our sins, be baptized in Jesus name, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost according to the scriptures. If we truly believe in the Blood of Jesus, then we will obey what He said about baptism.

Jesus on the Cross at Calvary finished his work and entered into the Sabbath. It was only a little different for me because I was the guilty thief on the cross, but I saw the Lord's righteousness and I saw my sin and I judged myself worthy of death and wanted His Mercy seat. By faith and hope I cried in anguish to Jesus to save me in the cross. By his Grace he did. Together we entered the rest of the Sabbath. In the morning of the third day, I awoke with Him and laid aside my death clothes and walked with Him out of the tomb a new creature with a new Life. The condition of my heart had been torn from top to bottom and the same heart was clearly circumcised. Jesus directed me to his very own brethren that were meeting on this day.

Regarding Constantine- he combined the Church with the State- a grave and everlasting error.

    Bob Hilt,

Our job is to love and teach, not judge.

The disdain you have for our brothers (the Jews) is palpable.

If the Jews are cursed, what do we do with Acts 28:26-28?

Do we believe what Luke says?

Last I checked, those that killed the prophets "SAY THEY ARE JEWS, AND ARE NOT, BUT ARE THE SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN" ( Revelation 2:9 and Revelation 3:9).

"SAY THEY ARE JEWS, AND ARE NOT"

"SAY THEY ARE JEWS, AND ARE NOT"

Do we believe the words of John?

People can say they believe in anything they want. Show me your works and I will see your faith!

The JEWISH high priest appointed by the Roman Governor that condemned Jesus was "of the synagogue of Satan," not a Jew.

You say "ALL Jews deny Jesus and that makes them antichrist;" again, I would refer you to ( Acts 28:26-28).

What about Muslims, Hindus, etc.? They deny God AND Jesus.

Jews follow God. Last I checked, that was Jesus' Father also.

As far as most of the Jews being from Eastern Europe and Russia, I am not sure the point you are trying to make.

Most of us don't know our ancestry more than a few generations.

How do you really know your ancestors aren't from Europe or Russia; and could have even been Jewish!

Paul writes in 1 Thess 2:14, 16 - For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, EVEN AS THEY HAVE OF THE JEWS: WHO BOTH KILLED THE LORD JESUS, and their OWN PROPHETS, and have persecuted us; and THEY PLEASE NOT GOD, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: FOR THE WRATH IS COME UPON THEM TO THE UTTERMOST.

If any can show me from the Bible alone where Rome or Islam killed the prophets please let me know. I

hate Rome and know she has murdered many. Islam has killed many but is not mystery babylon, neither the USSA

    Babylon killed the prophets

However Jerusalem is also built on 7 hills as is Moscow (communism) and Istanbul (islam) and Seattle (microsoft)

Matthew 23:34 - Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes:

and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

Mat 23:35 - That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Mat 23:36 - Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

Matthew 23:37 - O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

Rev 18:24 - And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

babylon was responsible for the BLOOD of PROPHETS.

Jesus speaking Luke 13:33 - Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

Revelation 18:21 - And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. .....

...... Rev 18:24 - And in her (Babylon) was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

babylon was responsible for the BLOOD of PROPHETS.

Rev 16:6 - For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

Rev 17:6 - And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

    Mystery Babylon killed the prophets

Jesus speaking Luke 13:33 - Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

Jesus - Matthew 23:37 - O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

the two witnesses of God are mentioned here:

Rev 11:8 - And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Jesus, MY LORD was crucified in JERUSALEM, which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt. NOT Rome or in Mecca or the USA

Do we believe Jesus or commentaries?

    How about Paul?

Paul writes in 1 Thess 2:14, 16 - For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, EVEN AS THEY HAVE OF THE JEWS: WHO BOTH KILLED THE LORD JESUS, and their OWN PROPHETS, and have persecuted us; and THEY PLEASE NOT GOD, ....

The Bible definition of an ANTICHRIST. 1 John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (ALL Jews deny Jesus and that makes them antichrist, if they believed in Jesus then they would be CHRISTIANS. IF you do not believe me call any Synagogue and ask them if Jesus is the Messiah.)

1 John 2:23 - Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

If Jews do not accept Jesus as messiah, then who is their messiah? SATAN?

1 Corinthians 16:22 - If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema (CURSED) Maranatha.

DO JEWS LOVE JESUS OR ARE THEY CURSED?

Did you know most of the self identified "Jews" in the Israeli state are from Eastern Europe and Russia?

    they are indeed.

The Lord IS my Shepherd. Though I do walk through the valley of the shadow of death His word comforts and guides me to live in His paths. Though I've sinned He stores my soul and I live a righteous life because He leads me in paths of righteousness to honor Him. Therefore He blesses me abundantly so I can in return be a blessing to the Lord's people in a New Testament Missionary Baptist church where our pastor faithfully watches for our souls and guides us to watch faithfully for the Lord's soon return. Very blessed we are at Kailua Missionary Baptist church at Kalama in Kailua, Hawaii. Amen to Keoki's sermon today about watching out for false prophets. I have that too. I'm standing anchored against him.

The bulk of this chapter's message is in vs 7-9.

This describes the 6th trumpet Beast (Russia) vs Babylon (US) and the desolations that will not be put off. God's people, the house of Israel and the house of Judah have behaved treacherously. It is ant-christ, "the spoiler at noonday" who takes the young men. 3 pm est/11 pm Israel time. America falls while her sun was yet high in the sky, Israel under darkness.

You can keep someone lifted up in front of Gods throne. I believe these verses show that Gods thoughts toward us; can turn us back.

    Jeremiah 29

11 For I know the thoughts that I THINK toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find Me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

I believe in the prayers of mothers and grandparents! My grandmother sent me love letters with scriptures, saying Jesus loves me and so did she. I would remember those letters.

An angel woke me from hangover every morning saying: if you don't stop, you will leave your child without one parent.

Yes I believe in Prodigal sons and daughters. The Bible says he CAME TO HIS SENSES. He was face down fixing to eat hog food. He had nothing left except need. Every step on that road screamed defeat, stupid, loser! (The Accuser). He made it to Daddy. ABBA.

I'm praying hard for some people who are the hardest heads and hearts I know. We have to shake Heaven with our prayers! I know some day I am going to receive a good report. I know it! I know it I know it!

Those altars they have in Israel are solid. I can see it in scripture. Well we need to grab on it, lay on it, soak it in tears, sleep beside it; wake up and shake Heaven again.

Did John the Baptist pray? Red letters>

Matthew 11:12 ...the Kingdom of Heaven suffers Violence, and the Violent TAKE IT BY FORCE.

Jesus said that. IF we want to shake out a blessing; get with it. Grab onto the horns of that altar and give birth to a miracle.

God knew what He was getting when He came to my house on Yom Kippur and broke into my sinful, drugged up, alcohol hazed life. He killed my life of sin and raised up a servant.

We can shake Heaven in our prayer life. Get in the closet. No canned prayers! Pray your heart. Holy Spirit help me to pray!

The 10 commandments is a representation of God's character and not a burden. The Sabbath was a perpetual or an everlasting covenant between God and his children. It was there before sin, Genesis 2:1-3. By eliminating the Sabbath, you fail to acknowledge God as the creator. Because in the decalogue, He does not give any other reason for it's observance, other than that He created the heavens and earth and all that is in it, Exodus 20:8-11.

This is why you find that the evolution theory, big bang and the theory of natural selection are worldly accepted even in churches, and people believing that the world is billions of years old.

    The 6th seal

Rev 6:14 US/Israel attacks Iran's nuclear facility in Trumps 2nd term. There will be a quiet.

Rev 6:12 brings an earthquake in Israel, opening them up for an easy invasion, then comes..............................

The 6th trumpet, day of the Lord, 2nd woe

Ez 38:1-17 America receives the "abomination of desolation" (Is 47, Joel 2:1-11, Rev 18), and Israel taken in the same hour, Luke 21:20-24.

The beast (Russian Confederacy) crushes 5th trumpet Babylon (US/allies) to dust, Rev 9:13-21.

The aftermath - Obadiah. So you see it was a family affair all along, Esau (Russia) mortally desolates Jacob (US/Israel) and God is mad.

This is anti-christ's rule, between the 6th and 7th trumpets. A world without America.

The curtain being torn meant that you did not need the earthly high priest to go to the throne of grace on your behalf. The Sanctuary was not for worshipping but for the atonement of sins. The priest was the mediator using the lamb's blood for atonement. But after Christ died, He become our High Priest not using a lamb's blood, but His own. This meant that the earthly sanctuary system had been abolished.

The Sabbath day was to let us rest and to remind us that God created all that is. Christ observed this day, Luke 4:16.

Paul who came after the curtain was torn, kept the Sabbath, Acts 13:14,42-44, 16:13, 17:2, 18:4. No where in the Bible is the Sabbath abolished.

    Read James 2:8-11.

Joel 2:1-11 describes the 6th trumpet, day of the Lord strike on America/Mystery Babylon. How does a 2,700 year old prophet describe a smart missile attack so accurately? They don't break ranks, they climb up the wall and enter in at the windows like a thief. Jesus said he comes like a thief. All faces will be pained. There are 90 scriptures that describe this event known as "the abomination of desolation", set in America. Is 13, Is 24, Is 21, Ez 21, Ez 38:1-17, Jer 50/51, Rev 18. In the same hour America falls, Israel is invaded and taken captive ( Luke 21:20-24). This is prophesy. This is anti-Christ's rule.
