Is there someone and the Book of Matthews that says the exact same thing as Psalm 91 and 7

Thank you all for kind comments. I hope in Christ that all of our communication together is for edification and hope that is eternal. I will meditate on how to respond to a few questions into tomorrow or perhaps the following day. Meanwhile I look with interest to what others will write. I wish we could sing a song or two on this website.

I think the scriptures discussed here are probably Hebrews 6:4-6, 2 Peter 2:20-22, Hebrews 10:26, Matthew 5:13 suggesting that in some cases Christians can't return to the faith once they leave and denounce it. Maybe some of this could be referring to blasphemy of the holy ghost? Matthew 12:31-32.

But James 5:20 suggests that you can return to the faith, as well as the prodigal son story. The forgiving 7x70 story sounds like a huge amount of forgiveness is allotted to us, as long as we forgive others: Matthew 18:35.

    What do you think?

Thank you Mishael. So many past song writers had such open vision for our hearts today, I need this song or one like it, in my life every day. We know of many that are sick right now that need prayers. I hope all is well with you and family.

Jesus is God is not a figure of speech 1 Timothy 3:16 "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. GOD WITH US.

Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let US make man in our image, after OUR likeness

Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 9:6 - Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

So IF one man is Body, Soul and Spirit which is 3 parts and God made man in HIS IMAGE

How many parts is God? 3? a Godhead? or trinity?

1 Thessalonians 5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Paul says spirit and soul and body)

Isaiah 10:18 - And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth. (Body and Soul different)

Matthew 10:28 - Jesus said: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ..........destroy both soul and body in hell.

Isaiah 26:9 - With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. (Soul and Spirit are different)

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, ....

Have a beautiful day loving Gods creation.

Romans 1 says that God made all this so we could see Him.

Even the human body is so unique and intricate, medical people can see that Someone all powerful had to of made humans.

With the same care , God made flowers.

All we see is supposed to turn our eyes off the fake, and get our eyes onto the CREATOR.

And yet in following verses, the Bible says that people will look out of their unseeing eyes; and NOT see the Creator.

It says they are WITHOUT EXCUSE.

Always say a little prayer for God to open their eyes so they can see what you do:

A Creator that loves them well.

Genesis 25-27. Tells the story of Esau and Jacob. Jacob and Rebekah worked together to cheat Esau out of his birthright as elder son. Esau made it easy because he'd rather have a bowl of stew than his birthright.

They got the birthright and Isaacs blessing.

It seems wrong but Esau had no regard for those things until he realized what He had done. It says God hated Esau for the treachery. This doesn't sanction cheating and treachery. It teaches that when God gives you a blessing, don't throw it away on something temporal.

The Bible tells us that children are. Blessing from God, too. Amazing.

No, we can not "loose" salvation. A person may choose to leave. That is not "loosing". Loss is a different meaning.

God didn't have to make man but he did and I think that he wanted someone not just animals to inhabit earth and I think think that is a beautiful thing that we are to be thankful for

This scripture is a warning that it is possible to eternally lose one's salvation having once known it. It puts a reverent fear in a believers heart to stay true. Thankfully God is the judge and will be the only one that knows the end result of a lost member. We know not to look back as Christians and we need a very close relationship with Jesus not banking on any self righteousness only as sinners saved by grace. By doing this a Christian will not find themselves luke warm.

The part about the Sabbath day. Without question the Veil of the Temple was torn and without question the ability to enter now into the Holy of Holies, placing one's self on the Mercy Seat by Faith in the work of Jesus Christ at Calvary is entering into His Sabbath. All seven days while time remains.

The day of circumcision of heart is the new life in the Risen Christ, we must finish the course of this race without looking back.
  • Bendito Palavra - In Reply on Genesis 5 - 6 years ago
The importance of this verse is that the LORD preserved a godly seed in the midst of a corrupt generation.

"Mahalaleel" means "praise of God" , and "Jared" means "descent".

If you look in Luke chapter 3 verse 37, you will see both their names are in the lineage of Jesus Christ who is the promised "seed of the woman" of Genesis 3:15 who would bruise the head of the serpent, Satan.

Jesus, the Son of God, became our Savior from sin by sacrificially dying our death on the cross and rising from the dead, granting all who trust in him forgiveness and everlasting life.

They have been deceived with a counterfeit gospel .

Jesus said many will come in his name .

You must read the bible for yourself with the help of the Holy Spirit or you will be deceived by men. Read Matthew 24 Why I say this ? Because the spirit of truth will lead you into All truth . Men can not do this .

Also there is a spirit of Antichrist, and it opposes the truth . Not all spirits although real are good or from God . You must be able to identify them . It's all in the bible .
  • Eric - In Reply on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 6 years ago
Am glad you quoted that Bob, because on my second paragraph it shows that Rome teach doctrines of men and neglect the word of God. Like replacing Sabbath with Sunday, they claim it's a mark of their authority.

Baptism of Children, Christ sent His disciples to preach and that them that believe to be baptised, Matthew 28:19, so how can you preach to a toddler?

They teach that you are saved by works yet the Bible teaches that you are saved by grace, an example of this is the Scala Sancta, read about it.

The Pope calls himself Pontifex Maximus, the bridge builder. This title was used Emperors of ancient pagan Rome where they were worshipped as gods.

    Darlene, concerning those taken first.

    Again, well presented.

The words of Matthew 13:36-43, Matthew 24:40-41, and Luke 17:34-35 reveal that the people TAKEN FIRST are taken by Satan.

Many understand this in the complete opposite way.

Ira F Stamphill "A Tender Heart"

Give me a heart that's tender true; A heart that's kind a heart that's new; And let it be like Thine, O Lord, In every deed and every word. Take out the stony heart, take out the bitterness; Give me a gracious heart that's full of tenderness; A heart that understands, that will not fret nor pine, Give me a tender heart, a heart like Thine.

Give me a heart from sin set free, Unworthy though my life may be; And may Thy Spirit its temple fill And teach me to obey Thy will. May I forget the wrong someone has done to me And show the tenderness of Christ on Calvary; Let tears of sorrow come and all my ways refine, Give me a tender heart, a heart like Thine.

Give me a heart that no knows guile, A heart forgiving all the while; A heart that reaches to do a deed And stoops to help a friend in need. I want to feel the pain my neighbors often know And lend a helping hand if be friend or foe; I want to share the loss in every weal or woe And have a tender heart wherever I go.

    Darlene,

Concerning Jesus and God being two separate entities.

    Very well explained.

God and Jesus are NOT the same entity.

    John 10:30

"I and My Father are One"

The word "One" is the Greek word "hen" and is given in the neutral form of speech. This means that they are one in "essence" not one person, which would be in the masculine form of speech, and would use the Greek word "heis."

If the words of John 10:30 are to be taken literally, what do people that believe this do with John 10:29 (as well as ALL other verses, including the ones you mention)?

"My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand."

I suppose this means "I, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My hand."

And John 10:30 would have to read; "I and Myself are One."

Seems like a lot of explaining has to be done here for these statements to make sense if God is Jesus and Jesus is God.

And please don't try and say that Jesus is God in flesh. Again, the understanding of figures of speech must be taken account for.

I would not want to be in the unenviable position of trying to uphold a position as truth while I am denying proper grammar and plain Scripture that is using OBVIOUS figures of speech.

Not a page of the word of God can be turned without the use of Figures of Speech."

Figures of speech are a LEGAL part of English grammar that follow rules, not something that is arbitrarily used by the reader whenever he or she feels the urge.

Taking literal what God states as figurative and taking figurative what God is states is literal is a fundamental reason why people misunderstand the word of God.

This chapter will answer the question concerning the narrow mind of those that consider the condition of a true believing christian unfavorable. When we take the word of God, we need to take it all, not just some of it. The church has failed in this. The KJV, some say difficult to read have taken it upon their omniscient self too reinterpret it for us! While there are interpretations that may be reliable, what this has done is open floodgates for misinterpretations. Paul has taken on the sinful condition that is present in each and every one of us! He is not writing to a small synagogue in Galilee, but to Rome! It will not be long after this that Rome will fall, that the darkness that Christ spoke of will be upon humanity itself! You can deny the truth, but the truth will find you out. Remember the clanging cymbal, it is nothing when it comes to the condition of mans sinful heart. What is most interesting is that scripture refers to love as charity. Charity is what each and everyone of us is in need of!

  • T39Ann - In Reply - 6 years ago
That might be possible if the pertain were a child when they first made the choice for salvation and started the walk very young then was ignorantly and overwhelmingly exposed to wickedness.

Because they were a child when they first made the choice of salvation it is possible for them to be restored miraculously. That reminds me of the lost sheep, or wayward son.

Again not to crucify our Lord afresh.

However, if even they depart in unbelief it is the same for them as any other who departs in unbelief. That means they made a grave choice.
  • T39Ann - In Reply - 6 years ago
I was not speaking of the backslider. They can definitely turn back.

I am talking about those who depart from God with an evil heart of unbelief.... even after salvation.

They have in a way blasphemed the Holy Spirit and there is No Forgiveness for that in this life and the next.

The back slider is able to be restored as long as they do not crucify Jesus afresh.

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father.
