That explains Saul's disguise. He and his servants would have been dressed as Philistines. Saul was a very large man so he would have gone undetected when passing through their camp.
Second, upon the woman(witch, familiar spirit) realizing that Saul stood before her for he asked her to conjure up Samuel from the dead. She has not the power to do so.
  • Rob on 1 Samuel 28 - 9 years ago
This passage has alot of ways to interpret it. Especially the raising of Samuel.
First, Saul to get to the witch (familiar spirit) at Endor he would have had to walk through thr Philistine camp site. If you iook at the map of the area of that time, Gilboa was on one peak and Shunem was on the other, separated by the Jezreel Valley. Endor was behind the Philistines camp at Shunem.
  • Nogme on Exodus 22 - 9 years ago
Circumcision and sacrifices are not allowed anymore. Since Jesus died for our sins there's no reason to be sacrificing anymore; therefore, God was not talking about this.

Then Verse 3 to 15 Becomes Our Promises. We Have To Be Obedient And Stay Put. We Can't Visit Only Or Go And Dont Stay Long. Abide Means To Stay Put. God Want To Cover Us At All Times. Thank You Jesus.

I too have sin of gluttony. Andrea I hear you loud and clear. I always have to remember physically that my stomach is only as big as my fist. And that is what I try to remember when I eat anything. As long as we have enough food to fill that you can control eating and most of all talk with the Lord before during and after. Remember Your body belongs to the Lord. :) Not the devil.

Lord God I pray for June and her mother, Angelina, and family. I pray that You would draw them all to Jesus, their Savior, at this tough time in this world. Teach them individually, that Jesus is the only bridge from this world to heaven and that God sent Him to die on the cross to be that bridge. Jesus literally saves us. Confess that He is the only provider of forgiveness and live. Amen

Why does everyone think that it is ok to ignore the Sabbath Day, but keep the other commandments?
If the Sabbath Day was nailed to the cross; then why not murder, theft, adultery, etc...?
If the Lord said: "Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy." There must be something to this.
I read that Sunday, is a pagan day set aside for the sun god. (sun day)

  • Dan on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
It is kind of amazing to compare this with the Prose and Poetic Eddas where the brothers Odin, Vili and Ve killed the giant Ymir and created the world from his bones, the oceans from his blood and the sky above from his skull. The first man and woman, were created from two trees and called Ask and Embla. From them sprang the races of man. Almost identical storyline, just a more colorful version
  • Kajean on Proverbs 2 - 9 years ago
God does still speak. That is why I'm in this book. I asked for more understanding and it led me here. The one thing I do know is that we must repent and seek his salvation while there's still time. for grace and mercy is there for all those who stand at the door and knock. I pray I'm one of those that have the gift of his wisdom; to wait on the Lord. I pray that we all be blessed.
