Discuss Acts 2 Page 18

    Dgjot,

We do have the Comforter, the Holy Spirit but miracles still happen today and the gifts of the Spirit are still given. In the world, today deception is so widespread as in ( 2 Peter 2:1-3) it has created such a farce it is hard to see the truth. The truth of these gifts and the sons and daughters who have the gifts are not of this world, money, gratitude, and fame. It is like giving, "let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth".

May some on this site give you their understanding on this that may answer your question better than me but I will give you mine.

Satan is still walking this earth and there are demons on this earth. ( 2 Corinthians 11:13-15). I can personally testify they are real and without Jesus, we cannot survive their attack.

We do not have the power, only with the name of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit through us. We must be solid in our faith and baptized in the Holy Spirit or we will find ourselves as in ( Acts 19:13-16).

Tongues are languages as we see in ( Acts 2:5-12), the disciples were speaking to them in their language and they could tell them the gospel of Jesus Christ even though they did not speak their language. The gift of tongues is still today, sadly many use it falsely and it is babel used on people's emotions and for self-gain.

We as disciples of Jesus are to plant the seed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to water by the example of our walk, and love for Jesus and them and with the word of God. We cannot win souls, we cannot add to the Church, God does the choosing but through the Holy Spirit, He guides our steps to those He may choose.

Regardless if someone has heard the name of Jesus, the words we have been given through the Holy Spirit may be what they have never heard. ( 1 Corinthians 3:6-8) "For many are called, but few are chosen".

My understandings, may others have more for you.

    God bless,

    Thank You, Ronald L Whittemore.

It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one having scary dreams.

You said, "Sometimes the words "last days" we think of the end times but the time of the apostles were considered the last days, we see it throughout the New Testament."

I know that now. We've been in the "last days" since that Pentecost where the Holy Spirit came down to earth.

All the miracles that Jesus did were a one-time historical event. The miracles were Jesus's credentials that He is the Son Of God. Jesus gave His disciples this same power to do miracles in His name, as proof that Jesus is the Son of God- the awaited Messiah.

The miracles done on Pentecost (the mighty rushing wind, the "speaking in tongues", the cloves of fire) were also a one time historical event. The Age of Miracles stopped when the last of the original Apostles died. We now have "the comforter" a.k.a. The Holy Spirit.

    Questions:

    1. Does that mean that Satan no longer walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour???

    2. If he's still here, do we still have the power to cast out Satan in Jesus's name?

    3. Does that mean that the "Tongues" that some people speak in today are nothing more than Satanic babblings?

    4. Why, with the invention of the written word (the Bible), radio, television and the Internet are we still required to preach the gospel? (Everyone has heard about Jesus at one time or another.) Is their blood still on our hands if we don't tell them??

I have more questions, but I'm tired right now and can't think straight. :)

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    * Romans 1:20*

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

All working together. Jesus came to show us the Father, as Emmanuel.

    Matthew 1:23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. [Jesus]

{Comment} Jesus came to bring to each born again believer; the baptism and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

    [ Genesis 1:2, John 3:6, Acts 2:1-3, John 16: 7-15]

Upon being born again, Jesus gives the Holy Spirit to baptize us, Teach us scripture, comfort us, convict us of sin, enable us to be witnesses. Stay in the New Testament at first. Learn fully who the Son of Man is (Jesus).

    Dgjot,

At Pentecost people were thinking the people that was baptized in the Holy Spirit were drunk, and Peter told them they were not drunk that was fulfillment of what was written by Joel. ( Joel 2:28) Sometimes the words "last days" we think of the end times but the time of the apostles were considered the last days, we see it throughout the New Testament.

That would be a scary dream to have I have had some scary dreams myself. God does communicate to us through the Holy Spirit in many ways including dreams. In Matthew 24 when Jesus told the disciples about the temple would be destroyed and the disciples asked Him about it the first thing Jesus said was, "take heed that no man deceive you".

There were some posts right before yours about opinions and teachings that may not be scriptural and if we accept it as truth without prayer and study, we can be led down the wrong road, just like signing an agreement without reading it. Your words appear you will read now, before you sign any more documents. Maybe it is a future document that you may really need to read, who knows.

Just pray asking God in the name of Jesus that He will give you the reason of your dreams, and if you are His, you can be confident without doubt, 1John.1:1 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

    God bless,

17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

...and your old men shall dream dreams....

What exactly does that mean?? Every morning as I am waking up I have the most frightening "dreams". I think it's my own fears playing out but maybe God is trying to warn me about something.

Try not to laugh when I tell you how my dream went: I dreamt I took my car someplace to have it fixed. Before they would fix it I had to sign an agreement. I didn't read it first, but I signed it and found out afterwards that I had denied Jesus in writing.

When I was fully awake, I was frightened and panicky.

The question is, if someone was deceived into signing a paper like this-

do you think God would forgive them? Or, because of my stupidity at not reading it first, it is lawful/acceptable? Remember when Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of food??

Many, many times I have trusted a business and signed an agreement without reading through it. Up to now, nothing bad has ever happened from signing one of these agreements unread, but it reminds me of the politicians who want to pass bills unread. (Like Obama Care, where Nancy Pelosi said: "We have to sign the bill before we can find out what's in it.")

    You CANNOT trust anyone anymore.

Basic Distinctions between Prophecy and the Mystery (C.R. Stam) - continued:

    8) Prophecy mainly concerns nations as such ( Isaiah 2:4; Ezekiel 37:21-22)

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From "Things That DIFFER!":

    8) The Mystery Concerns individuals ( Romans 10:12-13; 2 Corinthians 5:14-17)

    9) Prophecy concerns blessings, both material and spiritual, on earth ( Isaiah 2:3-4; Isaiah 11:1-9; etc.)

    RDf

    9) The Mystery Concerns "all spiritual blessings in The Heavenlies" ( Ephesians 1:3; Colossians 3:1-3)

    10) Prophecy concerns Christ's Coming to the earth ( Isaiah 59:20; Zechariah 14:4)

    RDf

    10) The Mystery Explains Christ's absence from the earth ( Ephesians 1:20-24; Colossians 3:1-3)

    11) In prophecy, salvation by Grace through faith alone is not contemplated ( Matthew 28:19-20; Matthew 23:1-3; Luke 7:29-30; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; James 2:17)

    RDf

    11) Salvation "By GRACE Through faith" Alone lies at The Very Heart Of The Mystery! ( Romans 3:21-26; Romans 4:5; Ephesians 2:8-9)

    12) The proclamation of the prophetic program committed particularly to the twelve ( Matthew 10:5-7; Acts 1:6-8; Acts 3:19-26)

    RDf

    12) The proclamation of The Mystery program committed particularly to Paul ( Ephesians 3:1-3; Ephesians 3:8-9; Colossians 1:24-27)

    13) The prophetic program revealed through many of God's servants Luke 1:70; 2 Peter 1:21)

    RDf

    13) The Mystery revealed through one man: Paul! ( Galatians 1:1; Galatians 1:11-12; Galatians 2:2; Galatians 2:7; Galatians 2:9; Ephesians 3:2-3)

    14) Old Testament writers frequently did not understand the prophecies made through them ( Daniel 12:8-10; 1 Peter 1:10-12)

    RDf

    14) Paul Both understood And longed that others might understand The Mystery revealed through him ( Ephesians 1:15-23; Ephesians 3:14-21; Colossians 1:9-10; Colossians 2:1-3)

More Distinctions In God's TWO Different Programs!:

    Prophecy/Law: 15) The Two "Main" (of 12) baptismS = A) water, For remission of sins! ( Matthew 3:5-6 Mark 1:4 Luke 3:3 John 1:31 Luke 7:29-30 Acts 10:37 Matthew 28:19 Mark 16:16 Acts 2:38 Acts 22:16 Ezekiel 36:25)

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From {RDf} "Things That DIFFER!":

Mystery/GRACE!: 15) Only ONE Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION, Spiritually "Identifying" members In (The Body Of) CHRIST! ( Ephesians 4:5 Colossians 2:12 Galatians 3:27 Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 12:13) 'ONE' = not two...

    Prophecy/Law: 16) Forgive others First, Then God Will Forgive! ( Matthew 6:14-15, 18:35; Mark 11:25-26; Luke 6:37)

RDf Mystery/GRACE!: 16) Forgive others Because CHRIST Has Already Forgiven us! ( Ephesians 4:32)

    Prophecy/Law: 17) Taught how/what to pray! ( Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:2)

RDf Mystery/GRACE!: 17a) we Are Exhorted to "...Make our requests known Unto God!" ( Philippians 4:6) While, At The Same Time, God "Teaches":

17b) Concerning our infirmities, we "know Not" what to pray "as we ought," But "The Spirit Intercedeth For us, According To The Will Of God!..." ( Romans 8:26)

Prophecy/Law {earthly!}: 18) "watchmen," {as CHRIST Told the Jews On the earth!}, looking for The "wicked one, the deceiving man of Sin" And "signs" ( Matthew 24)

    RDf Mystery/GRACE {Heavenly!}: 18) ambassadors {As CHRIST Told Paul, From Heaven!} Looking, Watching, & Waiting For The Holy One, The LORD JESUS CHRIST {From Heaven!} ( Romans 8:18, 19, 23, 25; 1 Corinthians 1:7; Ephesians 6:12-18; Philippians 3:20; Colossians 3:2, 4:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 5:5-11; 2 Thessalonians 3:5; Titus 2:13)

In the book of James chapter 1 verse 22 the writer tells (commands) us to "But be ye DOERS of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. When you DO something that means it will require an effort. The bible teaches us to put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. We don't change just by reading Gods word but we must respond in what it instructs us to DO. Not just hear. So it DOES take self effort. We're not getting into heaven by slipping on a banana peel, its going to have to be a life lived.

Also, Jesus said (John3:5)" Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water (baptized, fully submerged) and of the spirit (receive the holy spirit-Gods gift to us Acts 2:38-39), he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Not JUST by have faith in Jesus, which is not wrong to have faith in Jesus because we're supposed to, just FYI, but faith without works is dead being alone. Works are the acts, deeds or that which one undertakes to do to show his or her faith. It's your Labour in and for the kingdom of God. Its everything that you do as unto the Lord.

    Precious Dan:

" Mark 16:14-17 So, yes Jesus does confirm that we must believe and be baptized! Amen"

God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided 'Shows water' is NOT Under God's GRACE, Today:

    (1) Prophecy/Law for ISRAEL: The Twelve Were Sent to water baptize!

The TWO Main, of 12 baptisms =

    A) water, For remission of sins/induction into Israeli "priesthood!" {separate "study" IF you wish...} ( Matthew 3:5-6) ( Mark 1:4) ( Luke 3:3) ( John 1:31) ( Luke 7:29-30) ( Acts 10:37) ( Matthew 28:19) ( Mark 16:16) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 22:16) ( Ezekiel 36:25) ( John 18:35) ( Exodus 19:6) +

    B) WITH The Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for power, signs And wonders! ( Isaiah 44:3) ( Matthew 3:11) ( Mark 1:8) ( Mark 16:17-18) ( Luke 24:49) ( Acts 2:17-18) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 8:15-17) ( Acts 11:16)

    Prophecy/Law

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From Things That Differ!:

    (2) Mystery/GRACE! = our "apostle to the Gentiles" for The Body Of CHRIST:

Paul Was Not Sent to {water} baptize! Why Not?:

Today: 'Only ONE' Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION, Spiritually Identifying members In (The ONE Body Of) CHRIST!! ( Ephesians 4:5) ( Colossians 2:12) ( Galatians 3:27) ( Romans 6:3-4) ( 1 Corinthians 12:13) --------------------------------------------------

Thus, This ONE Baptism Is Performed, By God, Today, Under God's GRACE/MYSTERY Program, when the believer "confesses Jesus as Lord and Savior and believes that He died and rose again, and God saves them" in the twinkling of an eye.

So, "water baptism" Is Scriptural, But Dispensationally, "was for the Previous Law/Prophecy Program" of God, For ISRAEL!

Conclusion, water baptism is Scriptural, but, TODAY, is UNdispensational! Amen?

Please be Richly Encouraged, enlightened, exhorted, and edified!"

Hello, keep in mind that all sin leads to death. Only through Jesus do we have hope for eternal life in heaven. And that doesn't mean it's a pass to commit sin as some assume, but we are to put away the old sinful self and become slaves to righteousness. Doing good is good. Some people falsely claim that doing bad is better than doing good and we know where that comes from. God bless.

But according to Acts 2:38 you must repent be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ to get the receipt of the Holy Ghost. Instead of three names how about one entity or one name. You have to speak in tongues. You have to use it . It has power to it.

Part I Gospel of the kingdom =

Gospel of the circumcision ( Galatians 2:7; Acts 3:25-26; Genesis 17:9-14)

Salvation by faith and water baptism ( Mark 1-4; Mark 16:16; Luke 7:29-30; Acts 2:38)

Justification without works is dead ( James 2:17; James 2:20; James 2:24; James 2:26)

Precious friend, Meaningful Questions: "does that mean I don't have to be baptized?...I don't want to do something just because everyone else does." This is A Very Good Point!

Two things concerning "water baptized to be {or not to be} saved":

    (1) Prophecy/Law for ISRAEL: The Twelve Were Sent to water baptize!

The TWO Main, of 12 baptisms =

    A) water, For remission of sins/induction into Israeli "priesthood!" ( Matthew 3:5-6) ( Mark 1:4) ( Luke 3:3) ( John 1:31) ( Luke 7:29-30) ( Acts 10:37) ( Matthew 28:19) ( Mark 16:16) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 22:16) ( Ezekiel 36:25) ( John 18:35) ( Exodus 19:6) +

    B) WITH The Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for power, signs And wonders! ( Isaiah 44:3) ( Matthew 3:11) ( Mark 1:8) ( Mark 16:17-18) ( Luke 24:49) ( Acts 2:17-18) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 8:15-17) ( Acts 11:16) Prophecy/Law

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From Things That Differ!:

    (2) Mystery/GRACE! = our "apostle to the Gentiles" for The Body Of CHRIST: Paul Was Not Sent to {water} baptize! Why Not?:

Today: Only ONE Baptism = "BY" The ONE Spirit = God's OPERATION, Spiritually Identifying members In (The ONE Body Of) CHRIST!! ( Ephesians 4:5) ( Colossians 2:12) ( Galatians 3:27) ( Romans 6:3-4) ( 1 Corinthians 12:13)

    -------------------------------

Thus, This ONE Baptism Is Performed, By God, Today, Under God's GRACE/MYSTERY Program, when the believer "confesses Jesus as Lord and Savior and believes that He died and rose again, and God saves them" in the twinkling of an eye.

So, "water baptism" Is Scriptural, But Dispensationally, "was for the Previous Law/Prophecy Program" of God, For ISRAEL!

Conclusion, water baptism is Scriptural, but, TODAY, is UNdispensational! So, Meaningful Questions, we don't do it "Because Everyone Else is" {disobeying God, In Confusion?} Amen?

Please be Richly Encouraged, enlightened, exhorted, and edified!

Rick, does that mean I don't have to be baptized? I'm asking because there are a lot of scriptures in the Bible pertaining to Baptism. Matt. 3:13-16; 20:22-23, Mark 1:5-9; 10:39; 16:16, Luke 3:21; 7:30, John 3:22-23; 4:1-2, Acts 2:38-41; 8:16; 8:36-38, 9:18; 10:48; 16:15,33; 18:8; 19:1-5; 22:16, Romans: 6:3; 1Cor. 1:13-16, Gal. 3:27. I honestly would like to know. I don't want to do something just because everyone else does. Thanks In Christ.

Rich My understanding of repentance in context of usage Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized, the word repentance in that usage is to have a total change in state if mind and turn to God.

So I figure their sinners prayer is talking about the repentance, where as after born again forgiveness is after your born again and you sin and thank God for forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ. In His Service

Acts 2:38 is plain and solid Truth!

The steps we need to start our Faith journey with our Lord!

As believers and followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, striving to live a Holy life!

I've searched the Holy Scriptures and there's no so called sinners prayer. Why is it still being taught?

Precious brother Chris, I appreciate your Great discussion with me. I have posted for several years, and you are The Very First to consider/discuss these things. The rest have just written me off as confused or a heretic (denying Acts 2:38). So, in my understanding of (NOT denying) it:

I believe Paul "did baptize some" during God's Transition from Law (with water) to HIS PURE GRACE (Without water!). Most think that the great commission to the Twelve apostles of Israel, is 'exactly the same' as the commission to Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles. This does not make sense since CHRIST told the Twelve THEY "WERE SENT"

    to baptize, while CHRIST told Paul he "WAS NOT SENT to baptize." {the same thing?}

I cannot reconcile that for today, because God Gave Paul A 'Different' Program, The Revelation Of The MYSTERY, With The Gospel Of GRACE, And the "commission of Reconciliation" Because of CHRIST's Finished Work on The Cross!

    ( Romans 16:25) ( Colossians 1:20) ( 2 Corinthians 5:17-21) + ( 2 Corinthians 6:2)

Thus, I believe This "Hid In God" Revelation ( Ephesians 3:9) Must Be:

Rightly Divided ( 2 Timothy 2:15) From "Things That DIFFER!":

Many 'assume' The Gospel Of GRACE was Immediately preached after the cross, but

    closer Prayerful/Careful examination reveals:

    1) LAW was preached, obeyed, and taught to "thousand of Jewish believers"

( Matthew 28:19-20) Notice: Christ Specifically Said "teaching them TO OBSERVE ALL things I HAVE COMMANDED you" - one of them was Matthew 23:1-3, Correct?

    2) Water baptized Jewish believers OBEYED ALL CHRIST's Commands, SOLD EVERYTHING, And were "zealous of The LAW," even as late as Acts 21:20!

    3) IF the great commission IS FOR US today, then I see NO ONE "obeying it as these were!"

Thus, Chris, I just cannot reconcile LAW "being Exactly THE SAME as" GRACE ( Romans 11:6)

More 'available' on church birthday, and The ONE Baptism {a 'verse for annulment of water'?} "study" of today, IF you wish... Thanks Again, and Be Well, Precious brother!

I would investigate the motives behind this question. Is the goal to 'get out of' responsibility? Is the goal to do the bare minimum required as a Christian? Is the goal to avoid public embarassment or personal inconvenience? Which is more important- pleasing God, pleasing man, or pleasing yourself? Should a genuine Christian only strive to do the bare minimum God has 'required'?

Paul in Romans 6:17-18 said we were servants (or slaves) to sin, and now are servants/slaves of righteousness. Would a slave of righteousness want to avoid obedience to Christ and only do the bare minimum required as a Christian? What if Jesus doesn't want our bare minimum effort- what if that's an insult to Him? He died for you. Maybe He wants 100% of you- a total commitment. If you were 100% for Jesus as #1 priority in your life, how might you live your life differently?

It would be hard for a Bible-believing Christian to believe that Acts 2:38 means nothing. That it somehow means that you shouldn't be baptized, because it literally says TO be baptized. God bless...

John in the dispensation of LAW spoke of "one" who is to come, whose shoe lacthet he is unworthy to unloose. He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost ,and fire. When Christ came he ALLOWED John to BAPTIZE Him, showing the need for REPENTANCE. John was preaching and also baptizing UNTO repentance.

Christ "the promised redeemer" commissioned that this be done in his name. By now baptizing in His name, He fulfilled it in the LAW which was the schoolmaster that could not save, BUT, through his name "Jesus" REMISSION (removal) of sins is now given.

There are TWO dispensations, LAW and GRACE. Grace abounds. He came to FULFILL the LAW and SHOW us that THROUGH HIM -GREATER things WILL and ONLY can be done (GRACE). This He did and showed his disciples(followers of Christ). (KJV Acts 2:38) Repent and be baptized..; Galatians 3:26-27.

Please note that we are now living in the dispensation of Grace. For this Christ came to set things in order and give unto men the PLAN of SALVATION

Precious brother Chris. So glad you brought up: "'Law Administration' is difficult to comprehend when water baptism was not part of the Law to Israel (except concerning the priesthood as a ritual cleansing)." In regards to this, you may find the following "view of Israel's priesthood" Very Interesting - thanks for your careful/prayerful consideration:

    {Borrowed from my 12 baptisms "study"}: ONE of Israel's various washings! Greek: Baptismos = ( Hebrews 9:10):

    4. Levitical priesthood baptism ( Exodus 29:4) ( Leviticus 8:6) ( Numbers 8:7). This washing was The Second Requirement { The First being: "NO blemish!" ( Leviticus 21:21) }, in order to become a priest under the Law of Moses! Is this baptism in any way connected To baptism # 9?:

    9. "water" baptism of repentance that John preached (Before The Cross), And Peter continued (After The Cross!), to preach! ( Matthew 3:5-6) ( Mark 1:4) ( Luke 3:3) ( John 1:31) ( Luke 7:29-30) ( Acts 10:37) ( Matthew 28:19) ( Mark 16:16) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 22:16) ( Ezekiel 36:25).

    a) Does this baptism "save" anyone ( Luke 7:29-30?)?

b1) Is this baptism in any way "connected" to baptism # 4?

b2) Wasn't John preparing National Israel for God's Promise For them "to be a nation of priests unto God" ( Exodus 19:6!)?

b3) Was not The Second Requirement for priesthood induction, Washing? { may require re-review of baptism #4! }.

b4) Did not CHRIST And The Twelve "heal" everyone in Israel who came to them, in order to meet "The FIRST Requirement" For the priesthood, that Of "NO blemish!"? ( Matthew 4:24) ( Acts 5:16) compare: ( Leviticus 21:21)

More questions - to be continued
  • GRACE_ambassador {ChrisE} - In Reply - 4 years ago
Part 2 More baptism questions for today's water adherents:

    9. "water" baptism of repentance:

    c) Is this baptism "for today"? IF this baptism is FOR US Today, we have Several More Questions:

c1) Why does NO ONE Today, "teach, as John ( Under The LAW! ), Claimed": it is FOR "making CHRIST Manifest To Israel" ( John 1:31)?

c2) Why does {Almost} NO ONE Today, "Confess their sins," when they come to This baptism ( Matthew 3:6) ( Mark 1:5)?

c3) Why do not ALL Divided "denominations who WATER baptize" today, agree AS ONE, And "teach" water as John, CHRIST, And The Twelve ( Under The LAW! ), "taught" That "water baptism Is FOR The Remission Of sins!" ( Mark 1:4) ( Luke 3:3) ( Acts 2:38). { instead of each one's own "symbolic Re-Interpreted Traditions!" }?

    10. Baptism Of Anointing?: Pentecostal Spirit baptism; This is the baptism "WITH" The Holy Spirit, BY JESUS CHRIST, From Heaven, Poured Out Upon the believing remnant of Israel with signs and powers following. ( Isaiah 44:3) ( Matthew 3:11) ( Mark 1:8) ( Mark 16:17-18) ( Luke 24:49) ( Acts 2:17-18) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 8:15-17) ( Acts 11:16). And, is not THIS The THIRD Requirement For "priesthood induction" = Anointing? (compare ( Exodus 29:7) ( Leviticus 8:10-12).

Is God Performing "This" Baptism On us TODAY?

Conclusion: IF any water adherent, today, Under GRACE, believes he/she has been water baptized into the Israeli priesthood, is he/she Absolutely SURE he/she HAS MET The other TWO Requirements Of God? IF he/she has NOT "met them," then does THIS apply TO us TODAY?:

God Superseded TWO baptisms, Under Law, With ONE Baptism , Under GRACE!

Further Note: Paul, in Romans through Philemon, has NO doctrine of priesthood for The Body Of CHRIST, Under GRACE, Today...

Exhausted by "study"? Please Be Richly Encouraged, Enlightened, Exhorted, and Edified!

Hello Dave. In my understanding, Acts 2:38 & Acts 9:18 refers to water baptism & not Spirit baptism ( Ephesians 4:5). Repentance & water baptism went hand-in-hand in those early days, unlike what we generally see today.
  • WHY TRINITY IS NOT IN THE KJV BIBLE - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 14 - 4 years ago
Trinity is not in the Bible. The Bible says Godhead.

The Scriptures about the Godhead. Sometimes called "Let Us..." in some passages. These scriptures are evidence of all 3 persons of the Godhead speaking to each other.

    Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7

    Isaiah 6:8

    Romans 1:20

    Colossians 2:9

    Acts 17:27-30

    1 John 5:7

    John 10:30

"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and GODHEAD so that they are without excuse:"

    Genesis 1:1

    The Father purposes

The Word (Jesus) speaks. ( John 1:1)

The Spirit (Holy Spirit) executes the spoken word. Action.

All working together. Jesus came to show us the Father, as Emmanuel.

    Matthew 1:23

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

Jesus came to bring to each born again believer; the baptism and the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit.

    [ Genesis 1:2, John 3:6, Acts 2:1-3, John 16: 7-15]

To REFUSE this knowledge, is to reject the Son of God, and his provision.

PS. I have these scriptures noted on the inside cover of my Bible.

    +

    B) WITH The Holy Spirit, Poured Out By CHRIST, for power, signs And wonders! ( Isaiah 44:3) ( Matthew 3:11) ( Mark 1:8) ( Mark 16:17-18) ( Luke 24:49) ( Acts 2:17-18) ( Acts 2:38) ( Acts 8:15-17) ( Acts 11:16)

Clayton Acts 1:8 also Acts 2:38 also Acts 9:18 last but not least Romans 10:9+10 don't see any water just baptised or clothed with or endued with power from holy spirit. I'll stick with the scriptures
