Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. John 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

AMEN! PASTORS PUT SUCH A GUILT TRIP ON THE MEMBERS THAT HAVE SO CLOSE TO NOTHING TO BEGIN WITH.IT DETERS MANY AWAY FROM THE CHURCH.
  • Mike D on Psalms 119:89 - 10 years ago
For ever o Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. There is stability in God's word. Jesus said in Matthew 5,"Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled". For ever is from eternity past till eternity future. How serious is God about his word? Psalms 138:2B. for Thou hast magnified Thy word above all Thy name. Man may change his opinion about what God has declared, and man has, however what God had ordained as law would always remain law what He had affirmed would always remain true what He had promised would be sure forever. The word settled means fixed, or to stand firm. Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not.

its is imperative to give to poor and needy.but not the way pastors manipulate poor people to pay tithe.coz theypreachit for their own bellies ,but not distributing for charity.they flaunt with german auto mobile.too corrupt with this verse....
  • Yessie on Malachi 3:10 - 10 years ago
Give to the poor, and not to the church alone. Give to the people who are in need... If your church is organizing outreach to the poor and needy, then you can entrust your resources to them, otherwise, give it to the poor personally. feed the hungry.

  • Evie on Malachi 3 - 11 years ago
I feel when he says your ties all friend it doesn 't necessarily have to be money I notice mega preachers really exaggerated money which causes greed today, your time can be valuable just being there is church or anything your children people look at things I feel is material and God don 't care about material things. you know how people think very highly of their cars. Jewelry they think of those things are very valuable just as much as valuable as the money to buy those material things see think that has value. and because people think you some money the preacher preaches its about money but you don 't see it you don 't hear it but if you watch his lifestyle vs yours it 's all about greed his greed and love the preacher 's don 't even live the life style they claim they live but one thing they have for sure use your money which is something God never said he wanted where 's your money he did not speak of money. There 's too much greed in the church because of money and the members as well they strut like peacocks walk like ducks like they are all that come to church for the wrong reasons and think others don 't know it. there are people that become creatures because of the money look at Clifford dollar witches who was in the news not ldollar who wants to buy a 63 million dollar jet for himself, JD Jacob and there are many more
  • TONDA WILLIAMS on Malachi 3:11 - 11 years ago
I believe it means God will rebuke the devour depending upon the times you 're in. Back then it wasn 't money it was land, cattle, etc but in these times it 's money or anything of value because if he abides in us and We abide in him anything We ask that will he do.
  • Bro. Mike on Malachi 3 - 11 years ago
That 's right. God is referring to the harvest of the your sweat equity on the land that He created. In the Old Testament the tribe of Levi were the practicing priests and instructions were that if you did not have time to take your tithes to the store house, it says that you could sell it for money and use money as your tithe to take to Gods storehouse but, it also requires you to offer another 10 which your tithes plus the offering would total 20 . But the last sentence in the book that instructs the Levi priest says, "and these instructions were given to the people of Israel. Yes, it seems that many men and women of God emphasize giving and then use it for personal reasons. Well it 's not our responsibility to judge them. God will, but it 's our obedience in your relationship with God to know and obey when God speaks on giving. The Word says that in the day of judgement when Jesus returns to divide the sheep from the goats He will say to enter my good and faithful servant. When I was hungry you fed me. When naked you clothed me. When I was in prison you came to visit me. The sheep ask Him when did I do that Lord? And He said, " when you did it to the least you did it unto me '. "Study to show thyself approved into God, a workman rightly dividing the word of truth. " Be bless. God is good. Every time even in the worst time if your life. He is Great!

  • Isaac on Malachi 3:10 - 11 years ago
Tithe, is God 's command with promise and God is not mocked whatever a man soweth so he shall reap. Practically speaking I have experienced abundance through tithing, I have experienced good health without visiting hospitals for years via tithing, I have experienced peace of mind, success and answered prayers by obeying the Lord through tithing. I have also experienced the opposite by not obeying this principle, and this is because of fear of ability to meet up with other concerns that the Lord says we should cast unto Him for He cares for us all. In a nutshell, I have never seen a man that trade with the Lord and loose, God doesn 't owe us His desire is to meet all our needs according to His riches in glory, remember we are not talking of earthly reward alone, but heavenly treasures, domain where canker-worms, devourer and caterpillars, can 't reach. So I employ people to obey the Lord in everything, because He is the provider of what we possess and moreover we can 't hide anything from Him. Finally also bear in mind that the scripture also says faith without work is dead. The act of paying tithe is a progeny between faith and work -so pay the tithe.
  • Bernard Owusu on Malachi 3:10 - 11 years ago
I really love his take on Tithes
  • James on Malachi 3:8 - 11 years ago
I know people want to receive God 's blessings, but giving to God to receive a blessing from God is not the correct attitude of the heart. Also, Malachi 3:8 is speaking to the priests keeping and stealing the tithes from the Levites who had already collected them from the cities of Judah. Only the priests were allowed to stock the storehouses. This is not any easy verse to understand without reasonable knowledge of Levitical Law and the testimony of other minor prophets- Nehemiah in particular. To keep adding to my argument, there is no tithing required in the New Covenant- only in the old the "Law " or Mosaic law . The Apostle Paul clearly stated we are no longer under the law but grace Ro 6:14 . Jesus taught about cheerful giving and giving as a responsibility to support the church as the Lord leads. See Carol 's comment from 2014-02-14 below. She addresses New Covenant giving perfectly.

  • RNM 1-7 GEN on Genesis 1 - 11 years ago
GEN 1-7...I notice from the comments I read, their seems to be an absence of honor, homage, or fear of the Lord, Psalms 111:10...The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments, his praise endureth for ever. Instead of accepting the word at face value, as if our Heavenly Father could not preserve his holy word, which were written by Holy men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. It seems you are straining at the gnat to swallow the camel. You all seem to be concerned with everything but the right thing quibbling over 1st age, 2nd age, 3rd age, like you know, can 't you see, he 's got you by the hind end, right where he wants you. Totally blind and ignorant of the Truth. HOSEA 4:6...My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge, I WILL REJECT THEE, that thou shall be no priest to me, seeing thou has forgotten the LAW of thy GOD, I will also forget thy children. MALACHI 3:6...I AM THE LORD, I CHANGE NOT. To reject the 4th Commandment, you are rejecting GOD That 's exactly what satan wants you to do. PRAISE THE GOD OF THE SABBATH FOR HE CREATED EVERY LIVING THING IN SIX DAYS. AMEN!!
  • Salako lsaac on Malachi 3 - 11 years ago
Malach urged the people to stop holding back their tithes, to stop cheating God. The tithing system began during the time of Moses. The Levites received some of the tithe because they could not possess land to their own. Mal 3:6-12. During Malachi 's day, the people, were not giving tithes, so the Levites went to work to earn a living, thereby neglecting their God-given responsibilities to care for the Temple and for the service of worship. Lev 27:30-34, Deut 14:22. Numb 18:20,21. Do you selfishly want to keep 100 percent of what God gives,or are you willing to return at least 10 percent to help advance God 's Kingdom?.

"Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: ". Admonition, explanation, invitation to reconciliation: what a father we have! "showing mercy to thousands who love me and keep my commandments ". There is however a dire warning for those not accepting.Pray for the wisdom and understanding offered so freely.

With all do respect, I gave tithes and my life appeared to worsen. I stopped given the same thing. I also gave offering. All I know is that I did both notice things spiraling downwards. I lost whom I believe was my divine mate, home, money, hair, respect from children due to my relationship with God my faith . I am now giving the 10 5 offering. Life has been hard as I seek a deeper relationship with Yahweh of Host. If done nothing but struggle thus far. I meditate, pray, believe God 's word. I read the bible seeking God to talk to me as He did in the biblical days for "He change no ".....Still waiting expectantly for the windows of of Heaven to open pour out such blessings that there won 't be room enough to store it. Do believe in God, do believe His word is true, however, it 's the time timing He just didn 't say when!

That there is the creators way of being nice, hopeful and honest, because to be cursed by Gods Devine ruling authority is something man cannot undo, without Gods approval. You will know this by the suffering, unanswered prayers and the bitter taste of your own tears. God in Jesus name forgive me, pardon me for my wrongs and teach me your ways - Amen
  • RNM 2-31 on Romans 2 - 11 years ago
ROM 2-31...Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest:...The whole of the reformation collapsed over this one key point the 7th day Sabbath, they got everything else right but that. Just like in todays world, the protestant church has it mostly right, except for that one key point, the 7th day Sabbath, I am not obsesses with this day, but I feel that it is a "grey " area. Even though I am convinced of it, the New Testament is filled with scriptures expounding the seriousness of being Obedient to GOD by keeping the Commandments, therefore it is for us to keep the 4th Commandment the 7th day, Holy to GOD, aside from all the rules that was nailed to HIS cross .. and to continue on with the truth of the scriptures in Malachi 3:6--I am the LORD, I change not. or Hebrews 13:8--Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. SO, what you are saying, GOD does change, and HE is a liar, according to your beliefs. I JOHN 2:4 HE THAT SAITH, I KNOW HIM, AND KEEPETH NOT HIS COMMMANDMENTS, IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM.... I do not go, belong, am affiliated, or have been indoctrinated into any church, just for the record! I know their are others like me, but its a small following:... MATT 7:14-Becuase strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Like I said Years ago, break out of the fog of delusion, repent, and worship GOD in truth. GOD IS IN COMMAND, PRAISE HIM, AMEN!!

Malachi :3 Reminds us of the "IMPORTANCE " of giving, the purging, and purifying of the Son 's of Levi. Simple terms, to get them, "us, " on the right track. The benefits of obedient giving of tithe and offerings. Gen.14:20 Father of the faithful, friend of GOD, Abraham is our first example of tithing. Lev.27:30-32 Num. 18:26 Duet. 14:22 Neh.12:44 Prov.3:9 just a few other examples of giving. "We don 't give to gain... However, we will gain by giving...We can never out give GOD. LUKE 6:38

REV 17-28...I think you will find that the Roman Catholic Order, are behind these Pagan practices, and beliefs, including the 1st day worship Sabbath , II Corinthians 11:14-15..And no marvel for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light... Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to there works... II PETER 2:17-These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest, to whom the mist of darkness is reserved forever... MATT 15:9--But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men... I JOHN 5:3--For this is the LOVE of GOD, that we keep HIS COMMANDMENTS... MALACHI 3:6--I AM THE LORD, I CHANGE NOT. HE DID NOT CHANGE THE 4TH COMMANDMENT, THE 7TH DAY SABBATH, and mankind will answer to GOD for not keeping HIS LAWS. PRAISE GOD FOR HIS HOLY WORD!!!!WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! AMEN!!

God loves a cheerful giver. Tighes and offerings is a symbol of obedience for us to God since God is our supplier and provider Jesus deserves to be praised and be thank. Whatever God gives us we need to give them back to the Lord. Through Jesus the Heavens poured out more blessings to us and cups overflows, his blessings poured not only for ourselves but Jesus poured out his blessig abundantly in order for us to be a blessing to others. We should follow as he commanded us since everything we have is from God. We are nothing without Jesus. Jesus loves us and always confirmed his love and mercy even to the wicked people.
  • Icho Ducao on Malachi 3:10 - 11 years ago
This is the only verse in the bible that God challenged us for abundance,in the equation of prosperity, OBEDIENCE is the only variable which will result to our full satisfaction! so deal with it, do what it says and expect amazing blessings!
