Of course I looked at the verse before commenting on it. We are talking about supernatural changes to the Bible. Look it up and see for yourself. Here is one: Mark 2:22. Wine skins has been changed to bottles. New wine bursts old wine skins, not bottles.

Mark 2:27,28, Luke 4:16, Matt. 12:8, Exodus 20:8-11, Exodus 31:15-17, Exodus 35:2. From these texts The day of the Lord and the Lord day is the same. Even Jesus custom was to go into the synagogue on the Sabbath. As Christians we are to follow Christ example, obey His commandments.

Mark 2:24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26 - How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27 -And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath I wasn't born for soap but soap is made foe me - so plain.

Galatians 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. 11I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. - Matthew 12:1, Mark 2:23, Luke 6:1 And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.

No where does it say Joseph, the husband of Mary died. And if he did, No where does it say that Mary the mother of Jesus remarried. I think you all are getting your Mary's mixed up. The wedding? It does not say who is getting married. You people are changing the words of God. I'll pray for you.

Joe-There are 2 Mary s Mary and Mary called Magdalene, or Madeline. Mary was the wife of Cleophas and Mary Magdalene was Mary s sister. Mark 15:40, 15:47 tells the identity of the 2 Mary s.
  • Joe - In Reply on Mark 2 - 6 years ago
Ann - I read John 19:25 by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. as being 3 women Jesus's mother named Mary, his mother's sister also named Mary, and Mary Magdalena. The wife of Cleophas is Jesus's aunt not Jesus's mother.

The real SABBATH is the day mentioned in the Bible, the seventh -day of the week, Saturday. The Sabbath is the fourth commandment , Ex. 20:8-11. In the NT Jesus taught that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath. Mark 2:27,28. We follow Christ teaching, as it was His custom He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath. Luke 4:16. John 14:15, Ezekiel 20:12,16,20, Rev. 22:14

New wine bursts wine skins. That doesn't happen with bottles. What happened to the original wine skins.
  • Ann Hering - In Reply on Mark 2 - 6 years ago
Randall... The point... Jesus chose his brothers to be his apostles. Cleophas and Alphaeus are the same person: Mary the wife of Cleophas or Alphaeus, was the mother of James, Simon and Thaddeus, and Joseph. Matthew 13:55 ... and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
  • Randall - In Reply on Mark 2 - 6 years ago
It's possible because there can be more than one person named Judas or Thadeus. Do you not know many people named George? There is also another person in the Bible named Jesus. Look it up. Just because there is one instance of a person named Judas doesn't mean every person named Judas is the same person.

You are correct to say the Sabbath was changed. It was not changed biblically, neither did Christ change the Sabbath to Sunday. No where in the Bible will you find the word Sunday. Exodus 20:8-11, Mark 2:27,28, Luke 4:16. If we are followers of Christ, we will follow His example that He set for us. John 14:14 If you love keep my commandments.
  • Ann Hering on Mark 2 - 6 years ago
Joe ... The Word of God does not come out and say who these people are. Matthew, James and Judas Lebbaeus Thaddaeus are the sons of Alphaeus. Mark 2:14, Matthew 10:3 James and Judas are also The Lord s brothers. How can this be? These can only be both Jesus brothers and the sons of Alphaeus IF Mary married Alphaeus, who is Cleophas, which Mary DID! John 19:25
  • Joe on Mark 2 - 6 years ago
You may be correct, BUT please provide chapter and verse to support your points. Unless you can show me the scripture: I can only believe the scripture - nothing else.

Everyday cannot be the Sabbath, because God created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh-day. Gen.2:1-3, Mark 2:27-28, Luke 4:16. Matt. 12:8

James and John, Zebedee s sons, are always mentioned together. Mary and Jesus brothers sisters travel with Jesus. NO Joseph. John 2:12, Mark 3:31, Mark 6:3. Mary is the wife of Cleophas. John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. Cleopas KNEW all about Jesus because he married Mary. Luke 24:18, 22, 24, 31

Two different James. James son of Alphaeus and James the son of Zebedee and his brother was John. Tell me where it said that Alphaeus married Mary? There are also two Judas that the bible speaks of. Lots of names the same. Its hard to keep them apart some times. But as far as Mary marring Alphaeus, I can't find it. I can't also find where Joseph Mary's husband died.

Question It states that Levi Matthew is the son of Alphaeus. But in chapter 3, it states James is the son of Alphaeus. Can someone please clear this up? Answer Matthew Levi , James, The Lord s brother, and Judas Thaddeus are ALL the sons of Alphaeus. Mary married Alphaeus Joseph s brother after Joseph died. Jesus half-brothers are the sons of Alphaeus, Matthew, James, and Judas.
  • Stanjett - In Reply on Mark 2 - 6 years ago
Ann: HUH? No where does it say anything that you are saying.
  • Ann Hering on Mark 2 - 6 years ago
James, the Lord s brother, and his brother Judas, and Matthew are all the sons of Alphaeus. Mary, Jesus mother, remarried after Joseph died to Joseph s brother, Alphaeus, according to Leviate marriage when a brother died without a son, it was the brother s duty to marry his brother s wife to provide his brother a heir. The marriage at Cana was the marriage of Mary to Alphaeus Cleopas .

Tonya Clapp, Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the sons of Alphaeus. The way I see this, All of this men were brothers and there father was Alphaeus. You will notice that the word son in Mark 3 chapter is in italics should read sons not son.
  • Vanessa on Mark 2 - 7 years ago
Tonya, most scholars believe they were not brothers , but their fathers had the same name, I don't think anyone is really sure

when we seek the Lords way with all our heart we become anewed in our hearts, as it is said in verse 2:22 you do not put old wine in new bottles, means our old ways should fade away when we become renewed in our body mind and soul, you do not put a patch on new clothes, same as us we do not carry our old ways, we become dead to sin or if we hold on to it then we die in sin. Read Romans 6:2

verse 8,9,10, Jesus once again teaches us two of numerous desires of Jehovah /GOD for mankind; 1st forgiveness of sin, 2nd healing of sickness; also SALVATION through the shed BLOOD OF JESUS; though SALVATION appears to be the last desire, it is the #1 desire of GOD for us.

Only Sinners Can be Saved by The Blood of The Lamb, Righteous People Can Not. They that are Whole have no Need of The Physician But They that are Sick: I Came not to Call The Righteous But Sinners to Repentance( Mark 2:17) Self Righteousness Always Leads to The Lake of Fire( Revelation 20:15)
