14:6 Revelation - Of some gospel mystery. Knowledge - Explaining the ancient types and prophecies. Prophecy - Foretelling some future event. Doctrine - To regulate your tempers and lives. Perhaps this may be the sense of these obscure words.

1Co 14:6 What shall I profit you? The gift of tongues, exercised to the church, cannot profit unless it does one of four things named: A revelation. The inspired utterance of him who "prophesies". Knowledge. The gift of teaching the inspired truths of the Scriptures, or those revealed by the prophets.
