Theres no where in the bible that says "ALL" speak in tongues. There are different gifts of which speaking in tongues is one of them.

The word rapture is not in the bible. BUT that don't mean that there won't be one. It's clear that there will be one. When the dead in Christ shall rise first and then we that are alive will rise and meet the Lord in the sky.

Joe, we don't get the full picture of people or events in Scripture, so one can only try & put the pieces together to gain some understanding. Paul had never been to Rome - actually he was anxious to visit them & so wrote this letter, Romans, (his steno being Tertius, as we understand that Paul had some vision problem: Gal 6:11), to prepare for that visit. So, he wrote this letter from Corinth & from there went to Jerusalem to deliver the money he was collecting from Corinth for the poor in Jerusalem. Then after doing that, his intention was to visit Rome & go onto Spain (15:24). All these plans fell apart as he was arrested in Jerusalem & eventually taken to Rome as a prisoner.

So all these people that he mentions in Romans chap 16 who belonged or associated to a Church he never visited has perplexed us. Paul also gives similar greetings to the Church at Colosse ( Colossians 4:7 ff), a Church he also never visited. But we think that those people that he mentioned in Romans were those he had met & acquainted with in his travels or at least heard specifically of them through others & remembered them in his prayers: hence naming them specifically.

Priscilla & Aquila were known to Paul ( Acts 18:1-3 & 18-21) when he left them at Ephesus while he went on to Caesarea. So in their travels, they must have been in Rome ministering there at this time of the epistle.

With Phebe, I don't think she travelled with Paul as all his travel plans were changed after his arrest, but was probably charged to carry this epistle to the Roman Church. I see Paul truly commending her to them as his representative, envoy & forward party preparing for his planned visit. I hope this quick account helps you.

Jesus said it's better to give than to receive.

Jesus said : except God the father draw a man ( person ) they can not come to him (Jesus ) .

God is sovereign and knows everything, He will not torment people if they choose to evade him . Men naturally do not want to approach the light , it reveals their sinfulness . And is terrifying without knowing that Gods mercy can be found .

God alone decides on whom he bestows His mercy . And He desires mercy before judgement, because His Love is who He is at heart . He has no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked , they just will never come to repentance . Gods way . The Bible has all the answers!

I'm just sharing what I have learned

Book of Romans in early chapters speak of this .

The book of John chapter has the basic information about being born again.

John 16, John 17, has info about the Holy Spirit; third person of the Godhead.

If your Bible has center of each page, reference columns; those tiny abc's show you to additional information if one is within the scripture you are studying. You miss a lot if you don't use them.

These are all things that make studying easier.

Google can help but it MAY take you to a website that is not King James Bible. On the other hand if you have NIV or NKJV, you can google comments on your Bibles Version.

If you're memorizing verses, just look at websites that carry your version.

I find study easier if I read 2-3 books at a time. It flows better and you can keep oriented on the life and story of Jesus.

The disciples in the locked room had the mentality of think not, on their minds. They thought that this was it. They were next. They had no idera that Jesus was going to suddenly show up. That is what it means when the verse says: In an hour that ye think not. It will be so bad that you think. This is it. It is all over. Be aware of this: Satan who is a showy being covered in gems and gold wants to impersonate Jesus. Don't hang around that being when seen, standing on the earth

Yes I know your concern about TV evangelicalism.

I had the same questions about Jimmy Baker and the likes of them back in the 70 and 80 s and even B G the most popular of them all .

The truth should make people doubt them , because these teachers just don't add up in some way .

The apostle Paul said in 1 Thessalonians ch 2 v 9 , 10

That he Labored with that he may not be chargeable unto any !

That means to me he did not want anyone thinking that there was gain in his service to him . But he truly cared more for them than any gain or appearance of gain .

Godliness with contentment is great gain !

What an example apostle Paul was !

It's even wrong to be asking for tithes .

Taking from the poor is never right ! They can give if they desire like the poor widow that gave her mite. But to take from the poor is sinful !

Collections in the NT where so they could distribute to the poor believers, quite the opposite. But nothing stopping them to give if they desire to from the heart .

I find some names and places by Googling them and typing 'Bible' after it. Many Bibles don't have Very good maps.

Paul was never married. There are many women in the Bible who followed Jesus and the disciples doing chores, meals and being able to hear some teachings too.

Same with Paul and those that traveled with him also.

Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene after His resurrection. She had been a prostitute but was radically saved and joined the group he traveled with.

Despite what Hollywood films often perverts, there was nothing dishonorable going on. The best film to watch is Jesus Of Nazareth: very close to scripture.

We are all supposed to follow Jesus. He's alive and still calls people into ministry to this day.

Luke 21 v 36

Watch ye therefore , and pray always , that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass , and to stand before the Son of man .

Dear reader have you ever prayed this prayer ?

Only the father knows the day and hour .

Even if you die before this one time event at the coming of The Lord Jesus etc ... you still must stand before the Lord when you are resurrected from the dead . Will we be ashamed or rejoice ? No one escapes the coming of the Lord dead or alive .

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom . We are instructed to be found without blame and be in peace in him, only the Lord can do this for us . Trust Him and he will see you through even to the last day !

No other way but through him . All instructions found in the Bible . This prayer is a big one !

Although I have read this chapter numerous times, I do not understand it. Paul says "greet ... and salute ... about various people.

Where were these people physically located? In or around Corinth?

vs 3: "Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:" makes it seem as if Priscilla & Aquila were actually going to Rome, along with Phebe, to deliver the letter.

Or, as if the Romans had come to Corinth and are being introduced by Paul to the Corinthians.

God has no respect of persons.

1-20 The soul that sinneth it shall die. As to eternity, every man was, is, and will be dealt with, as his conduct shows him to have been under the old covenant of works, or the new covenant of grace. Whatever outward sufferings come upon men through the sins of others, they deserve for their own sins all they suffer; and the Lord overrules every event for the eternal good of believers. All souls are in the hand of the great Creator: he will deal with them in justice or mercy; nor will any perish for the sins of another, who is not in some sense worthy of death for his own. We all have sinned, and our souls must be lost, if God deal with us according to his holy law; but we are invited to come to Christ. If a man who had shown his faith by his works, had a wicked son, whose character and conduct were the reverse of his parent's, could it be expected he should escape the Divine vengeance on account of his father's piety? Surely not. And should a wicked man have a son who walked before God as righteous, this man would not perish for his father's sins. If the son was not free from evils in this life, still he should be partaker of salvation. The question here is not about the meritorious ground of justification, but about the Lord's dealings with the righteous and the wicked.

My comment: this entire chapter is about people being held responsible for their own sinfulness or, for what they know to be righteousness. To choose good and choose Gods way; is to choose life. If your parents or your children choose evil; they are choosing death. It's the choices we make individually, that determines life or death. We can repent of wrong and choose life. And vice versa.

The children do not bear the penalty for the parents choices; and vice versa.

In the Bible, idol worship or evil works we're committed on the mountaintops. In full view of God and everybody.

Jesus defeated the devil at the cross , so Jesus now reigns at the fathers right hand . Until Lord Jesus enemies are made his footstool.

Evil is rampant but defeated just the same .

Evils days are numbered , make sure you are on the good side , evil will have a last fling before God stamps it out .
