Actually, that book was included in the apocrypha which was originally published with the KJV. You can find it at the bottom left of this site.

why do the commentary notes of 1599 Geneva Bible refer to 1 Macc 4:59 in reference to John 10:22, but Macc is not a book available in this Bible or the KJV ?

I agree. Assembling is merely coming together as a congregation (however big that may be) to edify and exhort one another as fellow christians. No walls to any building are necessary. However, as time went by, more people gathered and a building was just a matter of course. I do believe there is an "outside" church near where I live. Quite frankly, I think an outside church is a great idea. This corona virus thing has forced my church into the parking lot and God's creation, and it is very nice. Yes, weather will take a toll, which is why the walls of a church are handy, but I am willing to go with it.

I would like to tell you what I see when I see the earth and the sun. The earth is a perfect world for keeping all people and creatures alive and then look at how complex the human body is, just think about it real hard and you will see we did not just evolve then look at the sun which has burned at the perfect temp to sustain life here on earth, it has never ran out of fuel or even ran low of fuel ever since the day it was created so how many things do you know that burn and never run out of fuel, I have never seen one. Have you ever seen a monkey sit down at a table with a pin and pad and chart the course to mars and back to earth. We did not evolve from a monkey. God created this earth and the sun and everything in it and it is so easy for me to see. Then look at all the things that Jesus did while he was here. He brought people back to life and cured people that they knew them and knew that he did it and there were thousands of people that saw him do all this! I believe that God created the Heavens and the Earth and everything in it and I will go to my grave believing it. One more thing is I have felt Jesus in my heart and I had the warmest feeling I have ever had and I have felt him standing by my bed at night and I am not a old fool I have felt it! Thank you God for everything you have done for me and I know for a fact that God has been watching over me for my whole life or I would not be here today, I came up hard as a old Tennessee boy that has done hundreds of things that I would have dyed for if not for the lord and I know it for a fact! I am sorry for talking to much but I am a believer and always will be! To much proof right in front of my eyes! Thanks you. A day is like a thousand years to the Lord so always keep that in mind when you are talking about how long it took for something to happen. One more thing and I will stop, take the best year you have ever had on this earth and times that one million times and that is what Heaven will be like.

    Amber,

I believe your question is a great one. God is not the author of confusion.

However, I respect others opinions and their journey with the Lord even if I disagree with their doctrine or beliefs.

For two millennia, people have been expecting the Lord to return and arguing over their beliefs.

Obviously after 40 generations (estimate), the world has yet to witness the 2nd Coming.

The Bible has never been proven to be wrong. God states, I have told you in advance, so when it happens, you will know I have spoken it. 66 books were given as proof. Other books are claimed to be part of it, but that is another discussion/distraction for another time.

The Bible claims 2 people and one member of the Godhead have ascended to Heaven. Interestingly, there were witnesses to all 3 ascensions. The Bible claims throughout, Old and New Testaments all others who have passed to be in the grave and awaiting one of the Ressurections.

For myself, I choose to believe the Scriptures instead of mankind that has been trying to change God's Word since creation.

I would recommend you take it to the Lord in prayer. Seek and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). See Jesus' words for yourself.

    Read the parables.

May you be given eyes to see, ears to hear, and may the Holy Spirit guide and teach you in all things. Blessings and Prayers.

You wrote more false assumptions and falsehoods again. We obviously disagree on what the truth is. There's only one truth. There's a mountain of support on the existence of God, not just scientific and historical, but personal experiences and testimony from billions of people, but you have a house of cards built on false assumptions and no hard scientific evidence. I have doubts as to your motives for coming to a Christian site and attacking Christianity with tired and empty points regurgitated from propaganda. I shared supporting info and you didn't indicate that you considered it. So, I don't think you're actually seeking the truth, but just searching for scraps to confirm what you want to believe. The term for this is confirmation bias. You use this to filter out the parts of reality that are threaten your worldview. Hope things work out for you. If you believe you're 100% right, why not just read the whole Bible cover to cover with an open mind. If you're so sure of your beliefs then it should do no harm to investigate what it says.

so, this part is puzzling too me. Satan must be loosed for a season??? This is a warning? The angel or len loose him from this black hole or bottomless pit or men will loose him. But Christ has reigned for 2000 years on earth as he say behold the kingdom of heaven is here! Today. So I'm thinking that already Christ reign and the people who are filled with his spirit??? I'm curious the earth inhabitable for 1000 more years is 2020?

I would suggest this is not gods wrath, but more like mans stupidity in not taking care of the garden god has given Him. God is perfect in all things. In creation and all that is alive and well on this earth. we are to be subject and caretakers of it all. When we take from the ocean we should replenish it.If the trees are dying its because we are not taking care of it. God is good. He is perfect in every way. If peoples homes are burning, it has nothing to do with what God has done, its only because of mans sin! Surely, not everyone in Paradise Ca. or other cities has denied the Lord. Not all of California denies Christ. Why should everyone be punished then? Don't blame God for mans stupidity!

Why are there other versions/perversions on this King James Bible site? The King James Bible is the accurate translated word of God.

As far as the ten commandments, God is correct to have to standard of right and wrong which shows that all are lost and have the eternal wages of death in the lake of fire unless they receive the gospel which graciously shows that the son of God died in their place.

    TO RICHARD & MISHAEL

And the sheep follow him: for they know His voice ( John 10:4).

And other sheep I have, which are not of this folds: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd ( John 10:16).

Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).

The answer is always best from God's Law and Matthew 5 verse 32 states....

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________

"But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery:and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced shall commit adultery."

    _______________________________________________________________

    And there it is.

In the cold light of dawn.

FORNICATION is the only legitimate case for divorce, before God.

    Hi Electric Warrior,

Actually I believe you do have lots of faith in mankind involved with science, which is why I reminded how unreliable and wrong they have been. But science and the scientific method is in harmony with Christianity, not opposed to it as many falsely assume. So, if you're looking into scientific evidence of Christianity and the events described in the Bible there is a lot. For example, atheist scientists used to think it was silly the Bible claiming the universe was made in a single creation event of 6 days, but now believe it, but just call it a different name. Atheist scientists used to think the earth being underwater was silly from the story of Noah and the ark and there's no way that happened, but then realized there's fossils across all high-elevation mountains in the world, and that limestone mountains were all underwater and are from coral reefs. Then researchers found the remains of the boat itself on the side of the mountain in Turkey, did analysis of the materials and confirmed it was man-made materials, and is an official national park for the Ark, but of course the media wouldn't want you to know this. Then there's the story of Joseph who turned around Egypt into a prosperous country and one of the smaller pyramids was dedicated to him. Then when Israelites fled Egypt and crossed the Red Sea, researchers have now found ancient chariot wheels in the bottom of the canal. On and on. So, there's lots of tangible evidence that corroborates the authenticity of the Bible with dates, times, names, and is the most influential and significant book in world history. Maybe you should consider reading it?

    Link

But as for your faith in mankind and believing in evolution- that's takes completely blind faith, as no one has ever witnessed nothing causing an explosion and making something and no one has ever witnessed life created from an explosion and no one has ever witnessed or reproduced one life form evolving into another life form. God bless.

I accept that you did not say they were Angels of lights. But a lot of times when (as) is used in this manner it seems to, imply that a fact is being stated. Example: As the owner of the house, he/she may pick the style of decoration. But if you want to show simular traits you would use the word (like). Example: Like the owner of the house, the tenant may pick the style of decoration. This is why I thought you were stating a fact instead of making a comparison.

As far as the animal skins, I have heard that from preachers over the years. And for my education, where did you read in the Bible that Adam and Eve were as/like angels of light with God putting on them human skin after the fall?

    ON CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES

n order to put the California wildfires into a 'spiritual' context, we invite you to visit the 'Current Events' page of our website. There are several entries that will explain the cause of God's wrath and why people's prayers are all in vain ( Matthew 15:9). The 'Current Events' page is a collection of thoughts and discussions on today's 'Current Events' and how the content on this website helps to explain and examine them and put them into a 'spiritual' context.

History has proven that mankind does not follow the first three commandments but rather follows after an image of a false god and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Gal. 4:8; 2 Cor. 11:13-15; Rev. 12:9), as a direct result of religious and made-made doctrines and commandments ( Matthew 15:9; Mark 7:7; Col.2:22). History has also proven that this whole world has been deceived as confirmed by the Word of God inRevelation 12:9. History has also proven that 'Religion' is the means that Satan is using to transform himself into an angel of light and an apostle of Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Galatians 4:8; 2Cor. 11:13-15; Revelation 12:9).

You can learn more about our Ministry in Christ by Googling our 'names' or the article "False Apostles and False Christs' or 'A World Deceived'. There is also a 'Contact' page for further communication. We invite you to review the 'Letter of Introduction' posted on the 'Introduction' page of the website. It highlights some of our work. Please note that our website was visited last year by people from over 160 countries.

It should be noted that in over 36 years of service we have never collected/received, solicited or requested donations. The gift of 'Life' was freely given and freely do we give to all those that believe ( 2 Kings 5:16; Matthew 6:26; 10:8).

Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).

I very much like your post Alex and agree. Connecting Scriptures together. Right in line with 1 Peter 1:7:

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

    God Bless you brother!

That is a very good and truthful verse. We who live by faith & trust, in the Lord, flourish in keeping our peace. I'm sure all of us in Christ love you brother and you have our prayers. Also sorry to see you go. I myself will not argue with someone else but will try to plant a seed, of the Lord, whenever possible. As it is the Will of God if it grows or not. God Bless you Carleton!

You have to follow the leading of your heart, but you will be missed! There's always going to be attacks against anything that Jesus is involved in. Having done all, to stand. You and your precious family members, stand strong; know, that God goes before you.

Paul traveled, on foot, to many places. Spent over a decade out in the desert, alone with God. Learning, moment by moment, the beauty and majesty of the Lord Jesus. His infinite wisdom and care of us. Receive that love. We must not look upon the unraveling of the earth and it's inhabitants. All these things must happen just as it is. This is the hard part that Jesus said we must endure; climb on top of that and give praise to the Lord. What beautiful songs that He has given to you to cheer yourself in times of sorrow. Never stop singing. :)

I always tell myself, that the Lord will undergird and undertake the way ahead, when we are burdened in our souls. "All Souls Are Mine!" Saith the Lord. You are safe and secure. Commit your way to Him and He will lead you forward with His eye.

Just like Paul, return to see "how it goes" with those that you planted in. I pray that the Lord will be with you every moment and strengthen you.

You know I love to tell of Ezekials bones? If we speak to the bones in our lives, they will rattle about; and then they will stand up!!

An amazing army of people. Prophesy to the bones.

    Peace be with you, Mishael.

    I will see you again....

The Septuagint was the (bible) holy words/teachings at the time of Jesus. The Jews gave Aramaic translations (Targums- to translate across-) to people. When Jesus followers were teaching about Christ from the Septuagint- the Jews rewrote the books in Hebrew (the old ones had been burned or destroyed; that is why the Dead Sea Scrolls were such an important find! Isaiah matched (!) their re translation from the Greek -= used at the time of the Prophets and forward to Jesus's day.) The Latin came later, and Jerome confessed (somewhere) that when he didn't understand the old Latin, he put in his meaning. Hope this helps. B.Boyd

I do not believe Elijah or Elisa are the witnesses. They are mentioned as one in the old testament and two in the new. Married couples were considered one in the old and two in the new. The only possibility is a married couple living in this age. Plus though they can appear in human form. Elisha and Elisa are in the incorruptible body, true death being not possible in that state.

Much has been stated about the seven year time line, but it should be clear that the first three and a half years are the call for redemption with the world following the Beast and the Beast colluding with the false Messiah leading to the building of the false temple. This culminates with the need for the final stand of the witnesses in Jerusalem at the temple. After the witnesses we have a world wide civil war as many believe the witnesses about the false Beast, Messiah and temple and turn on them. This followed by three and a half years of strife leading to Armageddon. I have left the pre tribulation concept behind and here's why. First, if millions have died for Christ then why should we be any different, especially since many of us have been deceived and not beyond Earthly judgment of our poor decisions. Second no clear mention of this bail out for Christians actually exist in the Bible, just possible references. Third, why as Christians should we not want to help sinners when they need us most. Fourth and most clearly Jesus is definitely stated to come at the end of the tribulation at the time of the final battle. This is the one and only time he will come to announce he is the king of kings and to redeem the Earth forever with the day of the Lord beginning. I have come to the conclusion looking at Biblical teachings over the last 140 years and have realized a pre tribulation redemption of the body is a big selling tool for preachers and nothing else. As for me I would refuse to go and stay to help the sinners to mercy like I believe Jesus would. Not 'run away' like a coward.

    Hi,

I don't really have a purpose, I am interested religions and the effects of same on believers, not just christians. I was browsing and posted a reply to someone who was praying to her god for help which apparently has, as yet, not been forthcoming. I do have time to kill but I'm not bored with life. I realise that no one can hand me proof of a god's existence, I'm only asking for credible evidence. There's no point or prize for me, I'm curious, that's all.

My mother passed away August 31, 2020 of the cancer that spread to her hip bones and liver. I lost my mom, my best friend and saw the excruciating pain of Cancer. I remember the lord on the cross and his promise.

God has brought me comfort and light through darkness, I will praise him and seek his face everyday. if you have cancer or not, seek God every day and stay in prayer listen to his son.

Thank you Mishael for your concern, I'm sorry about your Mom our Moms. Yeshua said

47 Then one saide vnto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speake with thee.

48 But he answered, and said vnto him that told him, Who is my mother? And who are my brethren?

49 And hee stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold, my mother and my brethren.

50 For whosoeuer shall doe the will of my Father which is in heauen, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

May they both be at rest and I hope with our lord.

It's always better to put your confidence in God instead of man, man is limited in what he can do. But God can do exceedingly, above and beyond any and everything that we can hope for or dream of. It is our duty to praise and honor and reverence our God at all times. Reference on psalms 118.
  • ElectricWarrior - In Reply on Genesis 1:14 - 5 years ago
Adam, I don't use faith when trying to determine what the best explanation for the origins of the cosmos is, I tend to apportion confidence reasonably depending on the source of the information, so for instance, I'd be happy to go along with say Lawrence Krause or Albert Einstein or Georges Lemaitre rather than Kent Hovind (who is a convicted criminal with a bogus doctorate).

I do subscribe to the notion of natural selection although don't belive it is magical as you implied. What seems more magical is the story that a god used dust and breathed life into the first man.
