    (Romans Part 23b):

God is not impressed with our performance. He wants to change us and transform us here so that we can take it with us when we leave. There are at least two places in the New Testament that tells us that the transformation that takes place here on the earth is what you take with you.

That's who you will be throughout eternity. We will all be the same in that we will all have spiritual bodies. But we're all going to be different. We take the transformation with us, and everything else burns. God wants to transform me and change me from within. And it's permanent! I take it with me.

If you want to read ahead in 1 Corinthians Chapter 3, it will tell you that. Take care how you build. Some build with wood, hay, and stubble, and some with gold, silver, and precious stones.

It says, "That ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Prove!

The word prove in the Greek means put it to the test. Put something to the test just like the Bereans did in Acts Chapter 17. They searched the scriptures, and they proved it!

That's one thing that is great about the biblical languages, both Greek and Hebrew, is that they are tools in which you can take and prove things. You don't have to become a scholar, but you can have the tools to trace out these words and see how they function and know that they are true.

    (Romans Part 23a):

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

There are two commands here. The first one is about being conformed. It's SCHEMATIZO. It's where we get our word schematic from. A schematic is a drawing of something about the outskirts or the boundaries of some house or some property. And that's what it means. Conformed has to do with outward change.

He says and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. The Greek word for transformed is where we get our word metamorphosis from. It doesn't have to do with inward change. It has to do with inward transformation. Not change, transformation!

So, conformity, being conformed is outward change, and being transformed is inward transformation, a permanent and complete change. And the change comes, and it says by the renewing of your mind. The word for mind here is the word NOUS. This particular Greek word represents the perceptive abilities of the mind, your perception. So, when I seek to be transformed, I seek for God's Spirit to take His word, and not change, but totally transform my mind so that I perceive the things of God.

God wants to transform us by the renewing of our minds. That is what our relationship with Him is all about. If that does not occur in the majority of our interaction with the Lord and the body of Christ, we're going to find out that a lot of what we did was a waste of time!

    (Romans Part 22):

Romans 11:32 - For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

For God has concluded, and this word in Greek means imprisoned, but God has concluded them all in unbelief, in order that he might have mercy upon everyone.

You kind of get the point that it is mercy. It has nothing to do with religion.

Romans 12:1 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Paul says I beseech you therefore, brethren. This is not a command. The Greek word for beseech actually means to make an appeal. He says I appeal to you. This is something that comes in a response from our hearts toward Christ.

Paul says I appeal to you therefore, and the premise or basis for his appeal is by the mercies of God. Literally, it is through the mercies of God, but that's the designation that Paul is using for the first half of the book of Romans.

He says you have been condemned, justified, and sanctified, saved and sealed by the Spirit of God, all through God's mercy. They are all the mercies of God! So, what Paul is saying is "I'm appealing to you based on the mercies and compassions that God has shown to you."

    (Romans Part 21):

Romans 10:17 - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The terms "by" in the text is actually the preposition "out of" as a source. Faith is a fruit of God's Spirit. It is not of man. Faith is a word that describes the activity of God's Spirit. Faith comes to us from out of hearing God's word. His Spirit ministers to us and persuades us and gives us the faith to do what God wants us to do out of the hearing of His word.

Romans 11:7 - What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

The rest of Israel were blinded! The word for blinded is POROO, pronounced Po-ro-oh. It's where we get our word porous from. It means to harden, to become stubborn, to cover with callouses.

And so, when it uses the word blinded, it means that Israel became insensitive to God. That's what callouses are for. You know, when you get out and start digging for the first time, you get blisters, and after a while you build up callouses. It makes it insensitive so that you don't feel it as much. They had become calloused.

Romans 11:29 - For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Do you see how that fits in? Nothing shall separate us from the love of God. I have shared this in the past, but there are two words in the Greek for repentance. METANOEO is the normal word for repentance for salvation.

The word repentance, and there's two words in the Greek. METANOEO is the normal word for repentance. That's the repentance for salvation. METAMELOMAI is used of Judas Iscariot in Matthew 27:3. That word doesn't mean I repent, it means I'm sorry, like "I'm sorry it all happened."

This word here in Verse 29 is METAMELOMAI. This is in reference to Israel over the sovereign election of Israel. God is not sorry for His gifts and His calling.

Yes Jackieboy, I thought was what you stated. Context of words in a sentence play a crucial role, along with punctuation, how the reader should interpret the sentence, phrase or paragraph.

King James Bible makes references in more than one chapter in both Old/New Testaments warning of these practices. So since I believe the KJB is inspired by God I have to believe in his warnings to me, don't do it.

You ask in one of your posts on this topic, did god create witch, which you said you didn't. This is one item I agree with you on, God didn't create evil ie witches in this case. If we will read Genesis we will understand or should understand what God created. Also where iniquity/pride/evil was found and how it broke Man's relationship with God.

In this analogy I don't believe God manufactures Kenworth tractors, so there for I don't believe that the one rolling at me at 55 mph is real and have faith it'll never hit me, only the driver and co-driver are telling each other roll on'. Have I been deceived in my thinking? In this case I believe I have.

I'll end with this my belief is God all Mighty is the only omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient God.

My faith is in Christ Jesus the risen Savior with who God was very well pleased with

    Holy Ghost as my comforter.

May we all seek God and be blessed because we found him and he is pleased we us.

If anyone reads this this far take a few more seconds to put praise in your pray for the worth lamb Jesus Christ I believe the Trinity is alive and well.

    Hello Carelton,

I was just thinking of you and praying for you as well as others we haven't heard from for a while. Good to hear from you. I hope things are going very well for you and family. We are well here and the remodel is mostly completed. It was such a pleasure cooking Thanksgiving dinner in a bigger and newer kitchen yesterday. There was room or everyone to help with the prep and all.

God's blessings be upon you and your family.

    Hi Brother Carleton.

My travels are work related but they have been great.

We have visitors or we're visiting this time of the year.

It's always great to be able to reunite with friends and family.

Me and my wife is a bit under the weather, other than that we're fine.

God bless you brother and enjoy the Holidays!

Ok , so I'm going to say something extremely controversial now , so it may not get put up on the site .

The reason the book of John doesn't contain the word faith is because he uses a different word which actually means believe , as opposed to faith . Same thing you may say .

By that logic , if you believe in witches , does that not also mean that you have faith in them ? Do you believe ( have faith ) in their powers ?

I don't believe in or have faith in any other power that that of the God of all Creation , the Holy One of Israel and , His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ . They are all I believe in , all I have faith in , they are true and all powerful and all knowing and able to do absolutely anything with any part of this entire universe . It all comes from , belongs to and is sustained by the Lord our God .

I don't think i can put it any plainer without sounding aggressive so I shall stop now and I don't wish to discuss this topic any further as I feel I would be going around in circles . May God bless us all .

That's exactly what I did say and what I believe . There are people today , people of other faiths , who believe all kinds of weird and wonderful things that we know are not true . But to those people who believe them , those false doctrines and their gods are true , they believe in them 100 per cent . To those people their beliefs are true and real . That's what I think about witches , did God create witches ? I don't believe so , if He didn't create them then who did ? No one but themselves . They believe that they are witches so they are witches in their own eyes and in the eyes of the others who also believe in them . They reinforce each other , they prop each other up in their delusions , it's the same with all other false religions . And all other gods and doctrines , apart from the Gospel , are false , they aren't real , they don't exist , they are man made . Deuteronomy chapter 13 , Genesis chapter 6 verse 5 , Deuteronomy chapter 29 verses 10-29 , Revelation chapter 13 is all about a false religion . Revelation chapter 19 verse 20 and chapter 20 verse 10 . The book of Jeremiah talks a lot about our hearts being decieved and being deceitful , is it a coincidence that this book is about Israel mostly abandoning their God and worshipping and believing in idols and astrology and all kinds of divination and witchcraft ? If you can find the time , please read the scriptures I have quoted , they explain my beliefs much better than I can . God bless your efforts .

    BLESSED THANKSGIVING

Ezra 3:11 And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

Jeremiah 30:18-24 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof. And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them. And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD. And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. Behold, the whirlwind of the LORD goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked. The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Hello brother Spencer! I am well by God's grace. I have not travelled again since the trio to Mississippi. Bryce and Sarah are very happy together and have travelled quite a bit already. We hope to see them ourselves here in California around Christmas time. Today we had a Church re-building unit here with four young men and their houseparents and two young children with our two sons and Joyce and I. A nice quiet day!

How have your travels been? I pray well and that everyone close to you is well! I have meditated some on our last subject of discussion for at least a little consolation to myself in having not stayed current with you and the discussion. I am sorry for my weakness here in consistency. My heart is here with you and everyone wanting to share the Lord's work in each heart to date. If I were to sum up in a few words meditations the past weeks they would be that the provision for reproof and correction for righteousness sake has been from the beginning. Love to you brother Spencer in your faithfulness in keeping the conversation in Christ alive!

As far as I'm concerned , witchcraft is a pagan religion and like any other pagan religion , including those others mentioned in the Bible , it is a false religion . As such , Jews and Christians alike , are warned to keep say from them in case we get led astray by them . Anyone who is a Jew or a Christian should not have anything to do with any false religion .

Throughout the world , many believers in these false regions believe all kinds of weird and wonderful things and if you give them the opportunity to do so , they will present you with evidence to back up their beliefs .

But we know better . There is One God and One Mediator between man and God . Everything else is false and we must not ascribe these fakers with any power because to do so is blasphemy , Matthew chapter 12 verses 24- 32 .

There are many religions who claim miracles and messages from the dead as part of their beliefs , are these claims true ? Do their false gods perform miracles and send messages to them from beyond the grave ? If the answer is yes then these god's cannot be false , they must be real to be able to do those things . We know that they are non existent , their is only one God , the Holy One of Israel . Matthew Ch 28 v 18 , Luke Ch 10 v 17-20 , John Ch 17 v 1-3 . Finally , John Ch 19 V 7-11 and Romans Ch 13 v 1+2 . These are my beliefs on the matter . If they are not yours , I'm ok with that .

    Hello JackieBoy80

I am curious as to what you meant with your statement that you said there are no such things as witches only people who believe they are or other people believe they are. Do you actually want me to believe that there are no such things as witches only just make-believe witches?

King James Bible clearly has references to witches, so can you enlighten me on what you meant by only make-believe witches?

    Exodus 22:18

    And

    Deuteronomy 18:10

Are a couple places I find reference to the topic.

    John chapter 19 verses 10 and 11 .

There are no such thing as witches , just people who believe that they themselves are witches and people who believe that other people are witches .

    Matthew Ch 8 V 26 , Ch 9 v 22 , Ch 9 v 29 , Ch 14 v 31 , Ch 15 v 28 , Ch 17 v 20 .

    Mark Ch 4 V 40 , Ch 5 V 34 , Ch 10 v 52 , Ch 11 v 22 .

Strangely , the word ' faith ' does not appear even once in the Gospel account of John . I wonder why , anyone have any theories ?

    (Romans Part 20):

Romans 10:2 - For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

The word zeal means to boil, to be on fire. We hear about people being "on fire" for the Lord!" Those are the people that I would stay out of their way lest I catch fire!

It says that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. If that zeal, that fervency, is not governed by the truth of God's word, it's dangerous because it becomes strictly excitement. And the thing that is lacking today is the same as in Hosea's day when he expressed God's heart when he said, "My people perish for a lack of knowledge."

We're in a day and age where people are more and more disinterested in what the bible has to say. And yet in it, God reveals Himself. You can't get a more important book than that.

But Israel has a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. In other words, they knew Messiah was coming but they didn't know that Jesus was the Messiah. They didn't put all the knowledge together. In fact, the word knowledge is the word "Complete knowledge." In the Geek text it is EPI and GNOSKO. Not according to complete knowledge. They had some of the knowledge but not all of it.

Roman 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

If thou shalt confess with thy mouth Lord Jesus. Please notice that I left out the word "the" because it's not in the Greek text. It's not a statement that a person says, but rather a personal relationship that one expresses. For instance, if you will confess in your mouth Lord Jesus, that's your relationship with Him.

And you shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead (because the Jews did not believe that He was the Messiah, and they did not believe in His resurrection), thou shalt be saved. It's a promise for the future. It doesn't say you are saved, but thou shalt be saved.

    (Romans Part 19):

Romans 9:13 - As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

What a serious statement to make! I have shared this in the past about these two words. The terms love and hate are called words of comparison. The words themselves don't mean He loves them, and He hates them.

The Greek word for hate, MISEO means to love less. It doesn't mean hostility. In Matthew 10:37, Jesus says, "He that loves father and mother more than me is not worthy of me, and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me."

Jesus is talking about comparisons. He's saying that we must love Him so much that in comparison to everybody else, it looks like we hate them.

Romans 9:22 - What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

This word "fitted" is what's called the middle voice in Greek. That is, the vessel itself made itself a condition of a vessel for destruction. Nowhere in the text does it ever say God makes a good vessel for a vessel of destruction.

Just like Judas Iscariot, he didn't become evil and filled with Satan because God says, "You come here, I need to put Satan in you because I need somebody to be an evil disciple." The bible says he was evil already, and that Jesus literally chose, and that's what He said in John Chapter 6, "Haven't I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a demon." He needed somebody who was evil to fulfil the role of an evil disciple. But Judas was already evil.

So, a vessel fitted for destruction, and the word fitted means that the vessel conditions itself to be fitted for destruction. God doesn't do it! But once it's fitted for destruction, and it is a vessel of destruction, God uses it. He uses both honorable vessels and dishonorable vessels. He'll use them both for His glory and for His honor out of His choice.

    (Romans Part 18):

Romans 8:26 - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

With groanings which cannot be uttered. Some say that this is speaking in tongues. They say that this is "praying in the spirit." I would say to them no, you didn't catch it. It says groanings which cannot be uttered. The word uttered in the Greek means unspeakable. It's not words. The Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be spoken.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The word good is AGATHOS, spiritual good. Human good is KALOS. That makes a big difference because if I'm looking at it religiously, humanly, and on a horizontal physical plain, when it says, "all things work together for good," that means in the human, God's going to work things out good for me in the human and in the flesh.

But this is spiritual good. Also, please notice that it doesn't say all things are good. It says that all things are going to be worked out for the good. What's good and bad in the human, that's our judgment system. To God, everything is good because He's doing everything. And when we have things "go wrong," in God's vocabulary, that's not even in there. To Him everything is going right. Why? Because everything's going to work out according to the will of God, so that when I do pray for the Lord's will to be done, I can know because this is a promise right from God, that all things work together for the good.

Romans 9:2 - That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.

He says I have great grief. The term heaviness is the word LUPE for grief. The term sorrow is the same word used for birth pains, the labor pains that a woman goes through. So, in his heart he has great grief and unceasing birth pains.

    (Romans Part 17):

Romans 8:11 - But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Notice that he's talking about the Spirit that's dwelling in you. The only life that comes through my body that is spiritual, and it literally says in the Greek text that it is by His indwelling Spirit. It's a title! Every person that has the Spirit of Christ has the indwelling Spirit and He is the one who energizes them.

Romans 8:13 - For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Taking this along with Verse 12, notice that it's God's Spirit that puts to death the deeds of the body. And again, that has to do with separation. You're going to live! I think that is interesting. The obligations that we think we have are what other people put on us. Family, friends, jobs, whatever! And we feel obligated. The word debtor is the word for obligation. We are debtors not to the flesh to live according to the flesh. You have no obligation to anybody other than Christ.

Romans 8:15 - For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Abba is the Aramaic word for dad or father. You see, it's by the Spirit of God in me that causes me to have a relationship with God that I can call Him my Father, not religiously, but literally. I'm adopted into His family. When I received Christ, I was adopted into the family of God. But it's by the Spirit of adoption, not by me.

    (Romans Part 16):

Romans 7:24 - O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

First, he says "O wretched man that I am!" The word wretched means destitute. He sees himself as just a destroyed destitute person. Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? He sees his body is the house that he lives in. Who's going to deliver me from this body of death? The term "body of death" is an interesting term within the Roman judicial system.

For some of the hardened criminals that committed murder, they would sentence them to serve their time with the dead body of the person that they killed strapped on their back. As it corrupted, and as it decayed, they corrupted and decayed with it. It eventually killed them.

Paul says that's what I feel like. I have died to sin. And I feel like I've got that old man, the old nature, the old life strapped on my back, reminding me and haunting me. It no longer lords it over me, but it just keeps working away, influencing and trying to get me away from the things of the Lord.

Romans 8:2 - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

The word sin has the definite article, the Sin Principle.

Romans 8:5 - For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

The word mind has to do with the frame of mind, not individual thoughts, but just the direction that our thoughts flow. The people who are not saved and are walking according to the flesh are people whose minds are always governed by the flesh, but they that are according to the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Only the Spirit of God can produce this frame of mind because we don't 100% in our thought processes think about the Lord. We've got "other things" to do! But it's the Spirit of God that gives us a frame of mind to participate with the Spiritual things of God. A non-believer doesn't have that.

    Good day America needs Repentance.

I agree that we should pray for these children. They are often exploited, or sent to the border alone, or put in harm's way. May God show mercy to them all.

Also, I agree that we are all of the same "stock" having Adam and Eve as our first parents. Many people do prefer to see people according to their ethnicity, race, or "otherness", but may more people see people as people God created for us to love, show kindness to, and as people in need of a Savior as we all do need. So, Scripture says to be merciful as God is merciful.

Rather than being divisive about people groups, I choose to push back against this thinking, as I think you do, too. Each of us can follow the Holy Spirit's leading in how we treat and think about each person we encounter or when considering how we approach groups of people.

I will be praying as you requested. Thanks for bringing this up.

Grant unto us the grace to be biblical followers of CHRIST; as we obey and trust in You in all things. Thank You LORD for the relative calm outcome of our national elections. We pray for CHRIST'S blessings of wisdom and peace upon them all.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all. GOD to shine His face and gloriously bless everyone on this platform.

    Hello brother Spencer,

Amen! We see this in Romans 7:23. The sin that's in our flesh is warring against our mind that wants to serve God, and it wants to take us captive. We cannot be enslaved to it, or taken captive by it, other than our decision to serve it. But we can also not serve it anytime we want to because we're born of the Spirit of God.

"The sin" in the Bible is an expression of "the sin principle" or source of sin. I agree with what you say about the battle being in our flesh. Our flesh is in constant rebellion against the Spirit of God in us. We often think that our battle or fight is with Satan, but he's already been defeated.

As believers, I think most of our daily struggle is between our flesh and the Spirit which dwells within because our flesh wants nothing to do with the things of the Lord. We are given the freedom to choose to either serve the flesh or the Spirit. That's where it can become a struggle, is when we begin to stray from the Lord and fellowship in His word.

    Blessings to you also!

    Great lesson Brother Jesse!

    Sin. "The sin"

I like the way you explain it. In the Greek text it has the definite article. It is "the sin."

This reminds me of " John 1:29" The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

The book of Romans has a lot to present!

Paul gives us a clear picture of the battle within ourself in chapter 7!

This is not persecution from the world. It's a battle with the flesh. Our flesh!

When Paul says verse 23 there's sin in his members, he speaks for us all!

Paul said For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

Similar to Jude 1:23... "hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Praise the Lord for Jude 1:24, "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy!
