Also, God's holiness speaks of His highly exalted state of being that transcend creation and is beyond our ability to comprehend. In thinking about His holiness, we should avoid thinking that reflects that we think the God and His divine nature is substantially like us. He says He is not like us in Ps. 50:21 as He rebukes those who did not see Him as being so holy that His nature is not like ours. He is high and lifted up. We have been brought low by our sin. The gulf is unfathomable.
Numbers 23:19 says he is not a man or a son of man who lies and sins. Therefore, it is a good idea to check ourselves before God when we think He should act in any situation like we, as sinful humans, would act. Recognizing God's exalted position over all creation should call us to humility before Him and to be cognizant of our sinfulness in comparison to His holy nature.
Righteousness is another aspect of God's holy nature. He is completely without spot or wrinkle, blemish or defect, lack of righteousness or any need or capability to become more righteousness. His righteousness is complete and unchanging. He is perfect in His being and therefore can never do anything immoral or out of character of who He is in essence. His choices, judgments, commands, laws, actions, and motives are always righteous.
Because of God's holy nature and His sovereignty, He has all the authority, right, prerogative, and power to govern all creation and the creatures He made. We can be confident that whatever He does with any creature aligns with His holy nature and that no one can thwart what He determines to do.
Last month, I wrote about God's will and man's will emphasizing God's sovereignty and man's contingency. The first section of this writing really connects to the A-Z postings Richard and I did on the attributes of God in recent months.
I am convinced that having a biblically based and high view of God in all of His attributes helps us to align with Scriptures as to God's sovereignty, holiness, righteousness as well as His authority and right to act upon His justice, judgements, wrath, grace and mercy as He freely chooses.
In the next sections I present what the Scriptures say about God's holiness and righteousness, His standard of righteousness for His moral creatures, fallen man, the effects of the sin of Adam, the sinful nature, the state of unregenerate man, the state of regenerated man, and the extent of the corruption of each and every human, often termed as depravity.
GOD'S HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
Scripture states again and again that God is holy and righteous to the ultimate and unlimited sense. He is absolutely pure. There is no sin in Him, no inclination to even consider acting sinfully, nor can He ever be tempted by evil.
God is altogether good. He will never do what is evil ever. He always acts completely according to His perfect character. Therefore.it is impossible for God to sin against Himself.
God's holiness is not only absolutely pure and good, but in His holiness He is set apart from all evil and sin. He cannot look upon sin or evil beings and not express His wrath and judgment on them.
Habakkuk 1:13 says tells us this truth.

Great news to see Christian Church agenda beliefs and values for the city of Los Angeles County and Southern California. Encourages my certainty to have I suppose to have and earn. I have some writings in this study believing the same thing to be Christian
Word Spoken and Written by REDAPPLETREATY4MEONLY
In my introduction I briefly get into the obvious statement of how the world flesh and the Devil all work with our sin nature to deceive. If we look at the one true God we see that in order to serve Him one should seek to not just tell Him what He would want to hear but to take actions to DO things that He commands. When we consider my earlier point in the intro in regard to the Sermon on the Mount an unregenerated man may think that he wants to follow a moral code and either choose to ignore his conscience that in the flesh he cannot do things with the right motives as well as have any real desire to serve in such a selfless manner. John 21:18 Jesus speaks sobering words to Peter who will be eventually led where he doesn't want to go; ultimately to martyrdom. I have mentioned in earlier posts how many like to look at the death of Christ and other martyrs of the Apostolic Age in particular and focus only on the end rather than a life requiring dying to ourselves daily and taking up the cross ( Galatians 2:20 is one example of this concept with a plethora of other scriptures as a Biblical framework of living a life surrendered to the Lord).
Sadly; I can attest in my own life that when in a relationship being told what you want to hear often doesn't stand the test of time. Actions speak louder than words; and a marriage should represent mutual surrender to self and entrusting God to be the center of the relationship. The same can be said for any deception in the spiritual realm; there is as Shake sphere said lots of "sound and fury signifying nothing" (MacBeth). Until we understand that we seek things as the book of James says to satisfy our lusts we have no concept of the true value of relationships and lack the desire to be around those who put the Lord first in their lives; thus lacking eternal truths in the foundation of our relationships. Sting's lyrics in "Wrapped Around Your Finger" show the end result.
I am happy to be able to pray for your needs. Please know that this time truly shall pass but being in the midst of it is difficult.
The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Healer and Restorer. Jesus, the Father, and the Spirit all work as one to help those of us who call out to Him in faith. Even when our faith is small, He will help us to grow our faith. Even when we are discouraged, He will encourage us and assure us of His love, power, and good intent towards us. Believe this, Shamaria. when I feel really down and out I love to remember what Peter said to Jesus when many were departing from following Jesus,"To whom else shall we go, Lord, for You have the words of eternal life." It is good to speak this out when we doubt, when our resolve to follow Him falters, when we feel like quitting or like we are failing our Lord, when we are deeply hurt or disappointed. These words to us speak to us what is really the main focus of all of history: The Jesus is the one and only Way, Truth, and Life. We have no one else to turn to but Him for the things that are truly essential and only He can give. All other people, things, relationships cannot deliver to us what Jesus showers upon us!
I will be praying for you this week. Please return here to let us know how you are faring and we can continue to pray for you.
In thinking on this verse you posted I understand that death was stripped of its power to hold Jesus precisely because He is the Lord God of Life and death had no power to remove His divine Life or prevent His divine Life from returning His human body to life. Death does not exist by itself. It was instituted by God as the curse of sin. But God is sovereign over death and sin, therefore, Jesus, the Lord God who is sovereign King of kings and Lord of Lords controls death and its power. Death can only do what our saving Lord God allows it to do.
We pray for one another because God promised to hear our prayers and answer. His answers are always in the best ways for us according to His perfect and holy will and for the pleasure of His glory. We pray, but He answers, as only He can do.
I am glad your Mom is willing to have a night caretaker in the house for her. I will pray for God to send a very capable and caring person to your home.
As to writing things out and then proofreading, I just started doing that with this current series I am attempting. Before, I pretty much wrote as thoughts flowed. But I decided to finally download Word so I can compose in it and then proofread as well as have a record of the writings to refer back to since this site does not keep more than 25 posts that are most recent. I want to be sure to not be repetitive or to leave gaps in the flow of the topical nature of the plan I am endeavoring to bring forward here.
I look forward to reading what you put together for your current study. Again, thanks for doing so.

Admittedly; interpreting the verse above with God raising Christ from the dead or Christ not being held and through the power of God in Him He rose is a bit nebulous; I would interpret it as both; Christ ceased after His body died to suffer but had a mission in the underworld to set the captives free then God raised Him at the predetermined time as well as will in the future determine the time He comes back in the Rapture; Second Coming or both as to the exact date.
I start here to transition to the idea that because of His victory all believers who are truly saved have new life and hence have overcome the world ( John 16:33). The oppression which comes as spiritual opposition after His Spirit lives inside a Christian prevents possession but the heaviness of the evil minions; at least from my experience is a constant menace; of course magnified greatly when our own sin gives the enemy an open door to pursue us. In my experience I will also say as I have stated before that that seems to often be one of the most common ways the Lord sanctifies us by breaking down any barriers of self sufficiency and pride and keeping us in a Psalm 51 mentality of a "broken and contrite spirit".
One of the best ways to counteract such oppression is no doubt to ensure we are walking with clean hearts; then put our energy into diligent prayer for others. Praying we are worthy to escape what is to come to pass in Luke no doubt is an individual experience as many believers aren't really praying that hard; but of course having our hearts focused on needs of others first I would describe as that of an athlete doing rigorous training. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 I have always interpreted as focused on evangelizing; but of course anyone who does that frequently acknowledges that much prayer is a necessity before such activity as well as during and after
In studying today's news headlines on what happened in New Orleans we see how some perished being at the wrong place and the wrong time and see a parallel to this verse. Without sounding dismissive I would emphasize that hanging out in crowds who are characterized by drinking and carousing in densely packed areas are more often apt to such a fate in part as a judgment of God.
We of course shouldn't be arrogant as to our higher moral behaviors somehow justifying us.
Another way of looking at it is if we look at the lives of such individuals say 24 hours before their passing would they seem so innocent; clearly some who die in this way are saved; others lost but the warning notwithstanding in the next verse is that without repentance we all will perish; whether now or years in the future and meet the same fate if we are unregenerated in the meantime.
Perhaps a good segway at this point is to look at the story of the wedding in Cana; and how Jesus often ate and drank with "sinners" to the point where He was accused of being a "winebibber"; or just hobnobbing with "sinners" by the self righteous Pharisees. Today it seems the family celebrations such as this are often forgotten; if not with formal weddings being abandoned we certainly don't have a feast these days too often for the wayward brother coming back home as was the case with the Prodigal son. So genuine feasts that are honorable have been replaced by self-indulgences and other vices of immorality.
Of course the outer damage the enemy inflicts is just a shadow of the spiritual warfare in the heavenly places. We see suicidal tendencies and murder inspired by another god and his instruction manual(s). The fact that this isn't considered "normal" in our nation shows in all honesty how weak the church is here today; we all need a "reality check
It seems your prayers and probably of many have done something.
As to the outline it was an impromptu collection of a few thoughts; doubtless missing many things. In comparison to your editing procedures; I go thorough things entirely in my mind (as it is too dark to write anything down in my room and I am undisciplined writing notes).
I will say that the Psalm 23 song (Leanna Crawford) I have found as a stunning example of a Spirit filled one. Not sure if I'm allowed to recommend something here but it has strengthened me probably a dozen times at least. Reading about the artist apparently songs are written based on past experiences (like that of her grandmother mentioned in the opening lyrics).
I appreciate prayer about my dad as well with his mocking faces; something he always has done off and on with a "narcissistic" personality. The enemy clearly has a strong foothold in this house; my greatest fear is not telling them daily to repent and believe the Gospel as they are hellbound. I have long asked God to deliver me from my situations and believe He can but in some sense my emotional state has shut me down to that reality. I had a bizarre sort of nightmare one night thinking about going out of my house after asking the Lord to send His angels if necessary to get me out. I certainly don't want to leave prematurely and have the enemy make a rout of me; but also in the same token don't want any more entrapment by either of my parents where I don't honestly know a way to coexist peacefully.
I owe you one; guess in heaven I can thank you.
I am happy to pray for you tonight.
Dear Heavenly Father, hear Mjones' prayer tonight to be more Godward in all of his/her ways from now on. Fill him/her with great desire and firmness of resolve to follow You closely. We are so thankful that You are always with us no matter how unfaithful we are because You are faithful and true. Help Mjones, myself and others who long for a life of deep abiding in You, an obedient spirit, and a heart for the things that You love over the things of the world. We speak in faith that You will indeed do these things for us according to Your promises and pleasure. May we bless you always and bring honor to Your name in a life lived for You. We are so happy to ask these requests of You in Jesus' name as He told us to do because He came to us in the flesh to live as we do with the challenges of a human life. Lord Jesus, thank you for this and for sympathizing with us in all matters that face us. Give us strength by Your Spirit continue in faith in You to the end. Amen.
I will pray for you and your daughters. You are going through a tough time that I know God will bring through the grieving with love and comfort. He will bring better days to you and your girls. We can trust Him to do so.
This Psalm is one I love very much. Also, it was the favorite psalm of a lady in our church lived to be almost 100 years old. she was a special lady, for sure. She has been gone for a decade or more but this psalm makes me think of her ad smile knowing that she is with our Savior forever. I will see her again someday, too.
2 Corinthians 2:1 - But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.
The word heaviness is the word for grief. It's a word used all the way through here.
2 Corinthians 2:2 - For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
For if I make you grieve (the word sorry is the word grieve), who is he then that makes me glad, and the word glad means to have a good frame of mind, but the same which is made to grieve by me?
So, he says if I come there, and I cause you to grieve over the heaviness of my discipline, and I'm looking for the Lord through you to minister back, so I can have a good encouraging frame of mind about the things of the Lord, but if I make you grieve, who's going to make me glad? It won't be there!
2 Corinthians 2:8 - Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
The word confirm is a political word. It means to announce to the public. For instance, people announcing their candidacy for president. It's a public announcement. He's saying don't just let the guy in the side door and say sit over there and you can join us again. Make it a public announcement. Make it official that this person is welcome back to fellowship.
Let everybody know about it because they have been told to stay away. And you are to confirm your love toward him, in front of him, and in front of everyone else, your AGAPE, your concern for his spiritual welfare, even to the point of sharing with him how much it hurt the fellowship to discipline him like that. But it was out of love, not out of anger or hatred.
2 Corinthians 1:17 - When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?
When I therefore was thus minded, or intentions, did I use lightness? It literally means to waffle. Did I kind of say "Yea, I might do that, or I might not, kind of waffling between decisions."
2 Corinthians 1:18 - But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.
But as God is true, and that's the word faithful in the Greek, our word toward you was not yes and no.
2 Corinthians 1:22 - Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Who hath also sealed us (the protective element around our spirit), and has given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. The word earnest means guarantee. In fact, the word guarantee, ARRABON in Greek, the word now in modern Greek means engagement ring, a pledge so to speak. So, what God has done is He has sealed us, and He has given us His Spirit as a guarantee or pledge in our hearts that we belong to Him, and that He's coming for us.
He made similar remarks in Ephesians 1:13-14. He said in whom you also trusted (meaning Christ), after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest, and again that's ARRABON, of the guarantee of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchased possession unto the praise of His glory.
He has purchased us. He just hasn't come to pick us up yet. But the giving of His Spirit to us is the guarantee that He is coming for us. And we find that as we continue to go through the scriptures, it is the guarantee of God that we belong to Him. So, Paul says this is our confession, God is the one. He establishes us. He anoints us for what He wants us to do. He seals us. And He gives us His Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 1:6 - And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
And whether we be afflicted, again THLIPSIS, it is for your encouragement and salvation. He says we are afflicted, but it's for you, which is effectual, which means energized, in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, or encouraged, it is for your encouragement and salvation.
So, Paul says I'm going through these things so that what I'm going through, and the ministry of Christ to me while I'm going through it, will be an encouragement to you. But affliction (THLIPSIS) is necessary.
2 Corinthians 1:12 - For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
Paul says, for our rejoicing (literally boasting), is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation, which is an old English word for lifestyle, in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward, or toward you.
He says simplicity. The Greek word for simplicity means singleness of focus. In other words, he lived his life with one focus in mind. He made decisions for that one focus. He didn't get involved in the world except for the fulfilment of that one focus.
2 Corinthians 1:3 - Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Blessed is God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and notice this, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
The word mercies is the word for compassion. And the word for comfort is the word encouragement. There are different types of comfort. That's why I am being specific. God is the Father of compassions, and He is the God of all encouragement. The word encourage is the same word used for the comforter in the gospel of John. The comforter, PARA means alongside of, and KALEO means to call.
A comforter is somebody who comes alongside of you to lead and to guide and to be there with us. And the word encouragement, what is encouraging is that God sends His Spirit to be alongside of us to minister and to guide.
So, he blesses God. And again, the word bless or blessed is the word to speak well of. He wasn't pronouncing a blessing on God. He says God is to be well spoken of because He is the Father of mercies, and the God of all encouragement. You can kind of tell what the subject is going to be.
2 Corinthians 1:4 - Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Who comforts, and again that's the word encourage, who comforteth us in all our tribulation. That word for tribulation is THLIPSIS. And this is the word that will be used all the way through. PARAKALEO is for encouragement, but THLIPSIS means stress or distress. The things we experience, every hardship we go through, it produces some level of stress.
(2 Corinthians Part 1): 2 Corinthians gives us the description of ministry, the discussion about the collection, and the defense of Paul's ministry.
2 Corinthians 1:1 - Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
Earlier, Paul says I have been sent out, and secondly, he says I am an apostle of Jesus Christ. So, Jesus Christ sent me and I represent Him in my sending out. And then he shares how he was called. It was by the will of God, literally in the Greek text, THROUGH the will of God. In other words, it wasn't ambition. It wasn't even his personal desire. God called him through His will.
In the book of Galatians, and this is very important, Paul says Paul an apostle, not of men (notice plural), neither by man (singular), but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead. So, he says not from a committee of human beings, nor by a man. Nobody put me in this position other than Jesus Christ Himself. He called me.
At the end of the verse where it says, "in all Achaia," the word all is not the normal word for all. In fact, it's the word whole in the Greek, in the whole region of Achaia. So that would be all the people, not just at Corinth, but so that this letter will reach all of the people over the whole region of Achaia. So, it's not just for Corinth.
2 Corinthians 1:2 - Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
He says Grace to you and peace. The greeting grace (CHARIS) is the greeting to the Greek or Gentile. And Peace (SHALOM) is the greeting to the Jew. EIRENE in Greek is the Greek version of SHALOM, the Hebrew greeting.
Those were lovely words of wisdom from God's Word.
It sound like things are really tough right now. I will continue praying for you. I read the second post on your topic ad thought it was very good. I hope you can keep going on this topic. I don't feel the need to step in at this point. I am composing writing on the topic I started on last month and want to continue in that. going through the proofreading part now so I can post some soon.
Here we are at the beginning of a new year. We can be confident in God and His will for each of us. He will direct our paths as we surrender to Him, as you stated in your post, yielding our selves and lives to Him daily.
May you be so blessed today and I pray that your Mom and Dad will get a competent, caring, and faith-filled caregiver soon.

May we worship HIM in truth and in spirit. Let us stand in the gap and make up the hedge for all. Our LORD JESUS CHRIST find HIS children faithful when the clouds roll back and HE returns for HIS church.
Praise the LORD from whom all blessings flow.
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
1. Unregenerate man cannot perceive the truth without Divine intervention which comes to all who He has called and chosen.
Thus we have every "religious" experience involve the flesh whether appealing to the mind; body or unregenerated soul of the individual. This involves an intersection of demonic entities with men and the world system (world; flesh and Devil). The truth on the other hand involves mortifying the flesh and the beginning of new life in the Spirit of the Lord.
2. Unregenerate man (this is my theory which I've stated before) tends to gravitate toward either following a "moral" code of ethics which is exemplified in the Sermon on the Mount or; alternatively go towards total anarchy which often involves Satanism or atheism (usually interchangeable depending on the emphasis of the individual self association with one extreme or the other).
This shows how point one is taken as the horse behind the cart so to speak; rather than dealing the necessary death blow to self AND the new life to produce not just actions but pure motives behind them it is like trying to polish garbage; or as Jesus stated to the Pharisees cleaning the outside of containers filled with dead men's bones.
3. Unregenerate man is already under the wrath of God. There are fatal flaws in the most respected "humanitarians" because they put whatever belief system as a substitution for the first commandment. True repentance indeed brings the fear of the Lord with it; and preaching against sin is necessary. The work is done by the Spirit however; we can be part of the process or watering the seed as it were but the Master of the harvest is the only one who can do a work in someone's innermost being.
4. No one can stop or outsmart the enemy of our souls as to what prophetically is stated to come to pass in these last days.
She is intransigent about overnight help. I am talking with the President in charge of the care agency locally who is a believer to attempt to communicate with my mom on the options available; he will discuss things further with me Friday. Things are on again; off again with disputes with my mom whose memory isn't always accurate and is very fussy about me getting things and doing things and not explaining exactly what she wants; that on top of my dad's mocking faces which characterizes the way he always acts sometimes has made me seek a place to stay other than here; so far options other than an air b and b 60 miles away haven't panned out. The illness may be affecting her brain or perhaps alzheimers as someone else suggested.
She has been trying turmeric and pepper which has curbed the progress of this illness in clinical studies.
Let me give you an outline of my concepts and as you did before maybe you can take over if you feel led.
