I compare the passage to Joshua 24
where Joshua calls on all the people to pledge commitment to God
  • Robert Hiltebeitel on Galatians 3 - 7 years ago
I agree that they go together, but actually when the Scripture says "Believe and be Baptized...", I would say that "Being saved is essential to baptism". Must believe first, then Baptism, as a testimony to God's saving grace with accountability in the presence of other believers. Blessings.

I am searching for clarification on Judges 4:19
  • Joshua on Isaiah 4 - 7 years ago
Today's woman of the world identifies with complete autonomy and independence from the authority of any man. Yet in spite of all this "equality" , for many women , the absence of any biological miracle of giving birth is still a reproach not necessarily in the eyes of a sinful society but to many not all women themselves who would love to bear children hence they still need a man .

Sawme: Actually, the word Selah first appears in this context in Psalm 3:4. There are multiple interpretations of what this word actually means. The most logical explanations in my opinion would seem to be that it either indicates a type of pause, or a term of deep affirmation. We see this word used a few times in Habakkuk as well. You shouldn't be sorry, it's a good question.
  • Bruce on Zechariah 13 - 7 years ago
Many People Believe They are Saved and Going to Heaven Because They Said a Prayer or baptize in Water. We are Baptized With The Holy Ghost( Mark 1:8) When The Father Calls( John 6:44) and We Ask Forgiveness( 1John 1:9) The Lord Will Wash Us in His Own Blood( Revelation 1:5) We Will be Changed( 2 Corinthians 5:17) You Will Know and Others Around You. It's Impossible Not to Know. The Change is WOW: 180

Please check out the following verses: Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; 1 Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
  • Raymond Weber on Galatians 5 - 7 years ago
Being led of the Spirit means that you have no license for self-serving behavior. It does mean that the Holy Spirit within is listing to war against the works of the flesh. You must take up arms in the battle of love and holiness
  • DEVONNA SMITH on Zechariah 13 - 7 years ago
I think so as well. People want to wait until they are right in order to come to God. By then it may be to late. God wants us to come just the way we are and has nothing to do with our outer appearance.
  • Shay on Psalms 3 - 7 years ago
Let's remember that while David did sin and was a man of war, he knew how to break his heart before God. God did serve His justice upon David by not allowing him the joy of building temple and he allowed David to suffer greatly due to choices. David was not perfect and made many mistakes yet God still chose him. Just as He does with us today, but remember to not misuse His grace toward us.
  • Jeannie Myers on James 4 - 7 years ago
I so agree with you. Praise God and His Word for knowing how to live life here and after in eternity with Him! I cannot wait! God Bless!!

John s perpective of Jesu more detailed: Closer to Jesus: Disciple Jesus loved: knew and understand Jesus: than others: Woman behold thy Son! Behold thy Mother: took care of her: V16: For God so loved the world everybody , that He gave His Only Begotten Son Jesus , that whosoever believeth in Him Jesus , should not perish go to hell , but have Everlasting Life live in Heaven for Ever with God .
  • Ivy Johnson on John 3 - 7 years ago
V16: My favourite verse: For GOD(Father), so loved the world,(Everybody), that He gave His Only Begotten Son,(Jesus), that whosoever(Us) beliveth in Him(Jesus), should not perish,(Go to hell), but have Everlasting Life.(Live with God in Heaven forever):This is it! Nothing else matters: Preeminence: This is as plain as the Nose on our faces. None other was found Worthy enough to die for our sins.

verse 1-10 Jesus power to heal the sick reaches the ears of the gentiles /a centurian, and by Faith this gentile-centurian sought Jesus to heal his sick servant; this faith of this person amazed Jesus because Jesus had not found such 'great faith' in Israel (the servant was healed). 2019, the same Jesus is waiting waiting to be sought by us to both heal

  • Roberttacos on Philemon 1 - 7 years ago
There is no clear proof that Onesimus was a slave. Paul paid a debt on his behalf but that is not evidence that he indeed was a slave and was redeemed by Paul thru this payoff of a debt. The phrase "mine own bowels" could mean that Paul had an offspring.
  • Nina flora on Amos 4 - 7 years ago
the questions about tithing is answered by Jesus in the New Testament.yes it is mentioned in old testament...bring ye the tithe unto the storehouse. when you receive payment for services rendered....correct tithes 1/10th to God...but you cannot out give God either..Jesus did mention it himself..our great example.. also... "give and it shall be given unto you..pressed out.shaken together etc.."
  • Albert Allen on Luke 24 - 7 years ago
Can people who call themselves Catholic be saved?...yes, I do think so, can people who hold fast to the Catholic doctrine be saved?....I don't see any way they can be. Let every man examine himself with the Holy scriptures as the "only" standard.
  • I am that Michael Isaac Dale on Revelation 8 - 7 years ago
O evil man, you speak of those who believe you, not GOD. As it is written, Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the Gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen
  • Vernon Brown on Numbers 15 - 7 years ago
God wants people to live A holy life if they don't they will not make heaven. We are going to be judged by the 66 books of the Bible. If you take part of the world you will not make heaven. Most Churches do not preach holiness any more and tell people it is ok to go to movies , sporting events, and dance clubs and bars and it is not ok. It is part of the world and we are suppose to live holy
  • Pete on Zechariah 13 - 7 years ago
13-9 where only a 1 3 part will remain leaves me breathless because no one I examine this with seems to understand the necessity for getting right with God NOW because our time remaining available for repentance is limited. Your thoughts.
  • Keith on 1 John 1 - 7 years ago
It is wonderful we have past apostles and especially the one who Christ Jesus loved to guide us with their letters. Even today many of their words are reliable and true. Thank the lord.
  • Ivy Johnson on John 1 - 7 years ago
V40: Andrew is mentioned: other man name not mention: Jesus the Lamb of God: not respond to John’s words: Name would have been mentioned: What a loss. We could have been reading about him throughout the Centuries, and learn so much from him like the rest of Disciples: suffering like their Master: So many of us today are in his category, missing out on things of God. Deaf ears: Doing our own thing
  • Sylvester White on Revelation 7 - 7 years ago
Son of the Most High God, that is falsehood. Romans 1:16 "For it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first and the Greek." Acts 18:6, "I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the gentiles." Race and bloodline does not matter to Christ for a person being saved after his sacrifice and never will.
  • Obbie Beal on Luke 6 - 7 years ago
39 Jesus clearly warns us of blind leaders and blind followers, neither of the 2 can rightly direct the other; these blind need SIGHT that rightly
  • Lindiwe on Psalms 23 - 7 years ago
I really love this verse. It refers to what the Lord is doing presently and also what He promises to do in the future. Nowhere in that verse does the Bible say 'The Lord was my Shepherd ...or he made me to lie down...or he led me...or he restored or comforted'. It never touches on the past because the Lord is here now. He is the Alpha and Omega and is forever present in our lives. Just believe.Amen
  • Asd on Psalms 83 - 7 years ago
JEHOVAH is the God of Jesus Christ.
Jesus has a God, his Father is his God and our God.
Satan does not want you to know that Jesus is the Christ, the begotten Son of the only true God.
