This chapter means so much to me; it shows how to live a true Christian life, and how to stand in the service of God, and I love every aspect of it.

Everything God created in the beginning was good. Behold I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing by any means shall hurt you. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God
And the Word was made flesh

Fascinating story. The area was one that abounded in naturally occurring naphtha. Note that Elijah was very keen to soak his bonfire in "water". My theory is that this was just this natural firelighter. One spark and whoosh! The lot went up. Very clever man, Elijah.

Catholics are not saved people. Trusting in Christ and Him alone is what saves. Everything about Catholicism teaches to trust in other things...Mary, Pope's edicts, confessing to priests, etc. I know because I came out of that. It's a filthy religion like all false religions. When a Catholic gets saved, they leave all that behind which would make them no longer Catholic.

Its the start of the 2nd of five books called Psalms which are the best in my opinion. Music.

Now, regarding plasm 32, it is the first time the word Selah appears. Why? We know not Selah's origin or true meaning. And it always gets me doubting my original conclusion; that Selah meant Amen. Sorry.

The priests played a serious role in representing the people before Jehovah God and offering sacrifices in their behalf. The greater High Priest, Jesus Christ, has a similar role today.

Laura Marshall. The men wore robes, as did the women. You could tell the difference between the two. (Verse 5 - A distinction is made between a man's garment and a woman's garment. The difference was obviously noticeable.) Proverbs 7:10 also speaks of the "attire of a harlot". You could make assumptions based on a one's clothing. God's purpose in this passage is separation and distinction.

  • Jesse davis on Colossians 3 - 7 years ago
God gave me Col. 3 a few years back. While walking and talking to God He brought up Col. 3. I broke down crying because I was very depressed and needed strengeth and encouragement. Because of God's grace, love and mercy I'm still here. I think, meditate and apply Col. 3 nearly every day since that time. All because of the power of the Holy Spirit am I able to live the Christian life. Praise God ..
  • Ivy Johnson on Psalms 37 - 7 years ago
Verse 23: The Steps of a good Man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. We need to have a strong Relationship with God always. In trials, troubles, sickness, death,
sorrow. We can believe, rest in Him alone knowing, and believing that He is willing and able to see us through. We need to have that confidence in our God. He is true to His Words. Two way street: God and us.

1-47 we learn specifically the group that 'tried' and 'sentence' JESUS to death; this same group would have carried out the execution but the laws of the Roman's government would not allow them to put JESUS to death, never-the-less the Roman's government could put JESUS to death.; so the religious leaders sentence JESUS to death and the Roman government carried out the execution; the ransom paid.
