To Majesty on Gen.ch. 26 -- Acts 1:7; "It's not for you to know ......."; it's for us to BE READY when He returns - Acts 2:38
  • Irene123 on John 16 - 9 years ago
To Bill on John ch. 16 - there's no Jesus admonition in Matt to be born of the water and the spirit or Matt. 28:19 and Acts 2:38? These are in GOD'S Word too.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
What I think of Acts 2 is -- it is THE beginning of Jesus' church and HIS salvation is found in verse 38.
  • Irene123 on 1 Kings 19 - 9 years ago
To Charlotte on 1 Kgs. 19 -- yes, I know Him- Acts 2:38; the Lord bless you for asking
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
I know He calls us and He receives us - after we have followed Acts 2:38. There is no, with just our mouths, 'accepting' Him as our personal savior. not when Peter himself, with the keys of knowledge Jesus gave him, was inspired by the Holy Ghost to preach Acts 2:38. How could anyone think that Jesus is such a 'marshmallow after the pre-scourging, then hours of crucifixion he went thru?
  • Geraldine cole on Acts 2 - 9 years ago

  • Irene123 on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
    To Susan on Gen. 1 -- We are to prove our stance by God's word, so here goes: Jn.1:1; v. 10, v. 12; Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; 3:16; 4:10, 12, 17; 8:12, v. 16; 10:43; 17:10-11; 19:5 v. 17; 22:16. I don't 'debate' God's word; I use it to prove itself. A lot of people like to debate; I don't.
  • Irene123 on Romans 8 - 9 years ago
To Olga, Rom. ch. 8 -- Yes, I am ready for His appearing , to take His Bride; I am ready via Acts 2:38.
  • Jacob on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Acts chapter 2 is a continuation of John the Baptist's baptism see Mk 1:4. That's why they had to be re baptized in Acts 19 because they had his baptism Acts 19:4. Acts transitions from the law to grace. You don't receive the Holy Ghost like that today, you receive the Spirit through faith see Gal 3:14. After the Jews rejected Christ in Acts 7 Paul is saved and God goes to the Gentiles Acts 20:28.
  • Bro Mike on Romans 10 - 10 years ago
Romans chapter 10 is Awesome Paul preaching to the church at Rome which had already obeyed Acts 2:38 telling them to continue to confess Jesus against all the persecution and false doctrine that was coming against the church of that day and they would be saved. God's Word will show you must be born of the water and Spirit John 3:3-5 , Acts 2:4, and 2:38 before we can confess Jesus 1 Cor 12:3
  • Aj on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
    amen
  • Nathan on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Acts2:38 is the only salvation for our souls. Not confessing he is lord and BAM your saved. That would be false doctrine. Mark my words, "There will be a preacher killing day for the falls doctrine" there is only one God one Baptism One Holy Ghost. And it's reall o God it's reall blessed be your name o Lord. Amen

Jeremiah 4:7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant. "This prophecy is sent by commandment of God Almighty. Read and retain for reproof, instruction and your salvation. The following events mark world descent into spiritual damnation, or hell: the Syrian President will visit the United States for what appears to be a diplomacy visit. During the visit, the US will experience large-scale blackouts, particularly in the northeast, coastal and metro areas. Soon after, during the blackouts, the LORD JESUS CHRIST will save the faithful, children, teens, the destitute and others from around the world. Immediately proceeding this event, US coastal cities and military bases, beginning with NY, will fall under nuclear attack from Russia, China and others. Cities will lay desolate with the remaining people devastated and the world in chaos. Anarchy, famine, enslavement and horrible deaths will ensue. Repent and ask JESUS to save you from this hell. Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
  • Lilian on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Hi Betty Jesus loves you, the only way to have faith in God is by hearing the word of God. We must be Born Again in Spirit and not in flesh . We must invite Jesus and accept him into your life Jesus will be the one to connect his spirit to us, from his blood our sins are cleanse and we are pardoned and was healed from his stripes iasiah 53.5. Acts chapter2,give great information about evangelism prayer and the word that was effective in the early and is the requirements for the body of Christ today to see souls added to the kingdom of God daily with signs wonder and miracles as the word of God is preached the world unsaved need to see the power of God in a greater measure in our churches with proof producing who Jesus said he is.

Revelation 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. "This prophecy is sent by commandment of God Almighty. It was THE WRITER of the Book of Acts who told us what Peter said in Acts 2:38,39. And it was THE WRITER of the Book of Matthew who told us that Jesus spoke the words in Matthew 28:19,20. Both men wrote under inspiration of God. These scriptures do not contradict. Both agree with Acts 4:11,12. There are no contradictions in scripture. If you think you know one pray for understanding.
  • Jeannie on Matthew 28 - 10 years ago
Jesus didn't make a mistake when He chose the 12 Apostles. He knew what they would do and teach. In fact He told them that whatever they bound on earth would be bound in heaven and whatever they loosed on earth would be loosed in heaven. That's how much he trusted them with the gospel.. He knew they would keep His words to the death. Matthew 28:19,20 and Acts 2:37,38
  • Torrie rhodes on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
I found myself draw to the chapter of Acts I believe this chapter is much needed for the spreading of the Gospel. It helped them to do the work for the kingdom of heaven then and it continues with the power of the Holy Spirit to reach and win souls today. Awesome.
  • Dek Barbare on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
In Acts 2 verse 17 I've always understood this prophesy of Joel to come in the latter days before the return of Christ, yet Peter preached it as in effect on the day of Pentecost, and so was it for about 3,000 souls.
  • Jedidiah on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Acts 2:38 gives us the general plan for salvation: repentance, baptism in Jesus' name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. There is no other way anyone in the Bible is baptized than in Jesus' name. I have read the Bible through more than three times and have yet to find anyone baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
  • Irene123 - 10 years ago
Lenetra - you don't 'pray' for forgiveness; you 'do' acts 2:38 - just as Peter said. then you can pray for the infilling of the Holy Ghost - which is evidenced by God taking over your tongue and speaking through you. Romans 10:13 was to an already established church of saints that had already done Acts 2:38. be sure to read Rom. 10:14 - "....without a preacher"? Heb. 10:25.

  • Olabode on 1 Corinthians 16 - 10 years ago
The NT is translated from the Greek and the word Pentecost literally means "50th day". It is the Biblical Jewish "feast (festival) of weeks"(Shavuot) ( Ex. 34:22) to celebrate the completion of wheat harvest.(50th day after Passover). The Holy Spirit came on this day.( Acts 2:1) So Paul in 1 Cor. 16:8, was speaking of the Jewish festival not the day the Holy Spirit came. (See Blue letter Bible)
